Quiet apartment in a good location
The apartment is on the ground floor in a complex in a quiet location, a 10 min walk to Dona Ana and Canavial beaches. Access to Canavial beach from Rua da Canavial is quite tricky (clambering down over rocks etc), but I did see some people walk over from Porto do Mos in the early morning during low tides.
I had family staying in a villa nearby, and we drove to Duna Beach on recommendation from their host. Gorgeous - well worth the car drive!
There is a supermarket a 5 minute walk away from this apt. (SuperEureka) that is well stocked, but there is a bigger Intermarche a 20 min walk away. I did not have a car, but would if I came by myself again.
The apartment itself was fairly clean, and had a good kitchen (lots of crockery/cooking utensils etc). The bedrooms are quite spacey as well. And it was quiet - which suited me perfectly!
The host was not around during my stay, but was responsive during the booking process and just before my arrival.
I knocked a star off because the address given to me was incorrect, and the contact person on the ground was busy working, so not that responsive to my calls/texts on my arrival. Lucky for me that the people in the other flats were more than helpful, and I eventually found the correct apartment building.
It would also have been nice if there was a welcome book at the apartment to guide one on the area/the apartment nuances/ what to put in the bin etc.
But, all in all a nice stay in a nice apartment! Thank you!
