Sanderling - a beautiful coastal home in the centre of Salcombe
Sanderling has soared into the sublime with a recent interiors overhaul by the talented Joanna Tucker. Blending sumptuous fabrics with calming coastal style, this is a bright and breezy holiday home that will delight all that stay. The cottage is just perfect for couples or a small family looking for a high end coastal retreat.
Situated close to Island Street (which is the artisanal area of Salcombe), you are only a short, level stroll to where you can buy freshly baked croissants and your paper in the morning, or find local pubs and restaurants in the evening. Nearby access to the waterfront means you can easily nip on to your paddle board for a sunrise SUP.
Climbing up the steps to the front door, there is a charming bench and table outside to make the most of the morning sunshine with a cup of tea and a freshly baked croissant. Stepping inside there is a beautifully proportioned open plan kitchen and living area. The bright and well-equipped kitchen (with a wine fridge of course) will be the focus of mealtimes with seating around the kitchen island. Next to the kitchen is a cloakroom with WC and combination washer/dryer.
The comfortable seating area has a very smart electric fireplace for cooler nights, and the piece of artwork above is actually a television! Doors lead out to a fantastic courtyard area with all the al fresco dining kit you could possibly wish for! Firstly a comfortable seating area - perhaps for sundowners - and an outdoor hot shower which is the place to wash off sandy paws and salty bodies after a day on the beach.
Protecting the outdoor dining area is a purpose-built gazebo with lighting and heating for the cooler evenings, plus a gas BBQ, charcoal BBW, and pizza oven to help you get creative with your cooking options.
Upstairs are two gorgeous bedrooms and bathrooms. The generous master bedroom (king size) with its beautiful calming tones has an ensuite bathroom of dreams. The use of space to fit in a free-standing bath and a shower is so clever; we know you'll want to soak in that tub for hours! There are distance views of the creek from the Juliet balcony so you can check what the tides are doing each morning.
The second bedroom (double) is equally as elegant and has a shower room next door to it. Both bedrooms have a ceiling fan to keep cool on those summer nights.
