The apartment was perfect for my needs. My stay was a couple of weeks. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds. It had a newer refrigerator and gas stove. I did some light cooking to save some money. I had more than my share of questions and the hosts were on top of it, answering all of my questions most times within 5 minutes.The apartment is in a neighborhood that is a little way away from the beach. I walked it a few times and it was an easy walk. There are a number of convenient stores around and some local food places within short walking distance.

Lovely stay

We stayed with our daughter and the apartment was the perfect size. Bedrooms are lovely, the living area is spacious and the kitchen is well equipped.We loved having breakfast on the ouside patio area, the gardens are beautiful. The location is great, the neighbourhood is very friendly and its easy to get buses from the main road. A lovely stay, thank you !

Great vacation on Barbados

Cozy apartment close to a few beaches and also shopping facilities. There was a safe, but unfortunately it did not work. The agent was informed, unfortunately the safe was not repaired or replaced until our departure. Otherwise, everything we needed was available, but the doors could do with some oiling. The furnishings are a bit dated / worn. On the whole, we enjoyed our stay there.

Clean and comfortable

The property is clean and comfortable. The properry manager is very attentive. They have pretty much everything you need in the house. It’s nice to have laundry facilities available right in the compound. It is also nice to have a small outdoor seating area. It is located a little bit in the neighborhood so it’s a good 15-20 min walk from/to the boardwalk. Can be inconvenient without a vehicle but not a bad walk and the neighborhood is nice and safe. The property is located in the bottom floor so you can hear the neighbor’s footsteps all day/night. You do get used to it after some time. Overall, recommend.

Things to have in mind when booking

Spent two weeks here on Xmas and new year , can’t fault the host and the house keeper , very helpful and welcoming people but let’s start with the house. It’s 10 min walk to the nearest beach which is very small , rocky bay and no sun lounges there so nearest beach with sun lounges is rockley beach , so check the distance if it’s ok for you to walk . it’s nice walk along the coast but it’s very hot. If you can expend your budget stay closer to the beach. The house itself is very worn down , needs repainting and updating. Cleanness is not great , kitchen cupboards smell inside , toilet does not flush properly , bedroom wardrobe is filthy in between the wooden doors, you will have trouble to fight with mosquitoes indoors as the lounge doors that lead to the patio have open area above the doors so does not matter how much you spray inside they still coming in through the gaps. Neighbors are very loud , dogs barking non stop through the night so if you are a light sleeper consider that . My daughter’s swimming costume was stolen from the garden where it was drying so please be careful of what you leave on the patio . Trudi was very kind to check the cameras but unfortunately they only show the main gate not the fence separating our villa with the neighbors.

Our location in Hastings is very popular with tourists, who appreciate being in a safe and walkable area. As our guests, you will be in proximity to everything you need to enjoy your vacation. Beaches, restaurants, bars, supermarkets and minimarts, visitor attractions, public transport, and other local amenities are all within a short walk or car/bus ride away.

Although Barbados is small, first-time visitors will find that the island offers a vibrant mix of stunning beaches, rich history, delicious food, and lively culture, from snorkelling with turtles and exploring Harrison’s magnificent caves, to visiting historic Bridgetown, touring rum distilleries, enjoying the famous Friday Night Oistins Fish Fry, and hiking rugged coastlines. It's far more than just a relaxing beach destination, providing adventure, history, and authentic Caribbean experiences for all interests.

Repeat visitors will find that there are many places they have not yet visited, and others that have changed over the years, making them worth a second, third, or fourth visit.

What makes Barbados different from many other Caribbean islands is that it is comparatively well-developed. Still, it retains a quintessentially Caribbean flavour: a warm tropical climate, beautiful scenery, stunning sunsets, white sand beaches, exotic rum punch, delicious food, and the welcoming spirit of the people.

Guests love Somnia for its cosy, comfortable tropical theme furnishings and decor, but they especially enjoy spending time on our large veranda, where they can relax over a morning coffee while planning their day’s activities. They are thrilled to see the families of local green monkeys (the mammas with the tiny babies are especially cute) as they pass through the garden, as well as the many varieties of birds that visit the garden - especially the tiny, delightful, iridescent shimmering hummingbirds as they hover over flower blossoms. There is nothing more relaxing than sipping evening drinks on the veranda while listening to the distinctive chorus of tiny whistling tree frogs that provide the backdrop to evenings in Barbados.
