Unser wunderschön renoviertes Ferienhaus und drei angrenzende Ferienhäuser sowie ein gemeinschaftlich genutzter, beheizter Familienpool (geöffnet von der zweiten Juniwoche bis Ende September) liegen in einem abgeschiedenen, 3 Acre großen Garten, der von einem Bach und Wald umgeben ist.

The Der offene Wohnbereich hat seine Eichenbalken und die charakteristische Steinwand bewahrt. Er verfügt über einen Holzofen, Elektroheizung, Smart-TV und WLAN sowie Glastüren mit Blick auf den Garten. Die Küche ist komplett ausgestattet mit Geschirrspüler, Waschmaschine, Kaffeemaschine, Toaster und Mikrowelle. Das Duschbad ist sehr geräumig und modern. Im Obergeschoss hat das Doppelzimmer eine charakteristische Steinwand, einen Kleiderschrank und einen Schminktisch; das Zweibettzimmer verfügt über eine Kommode und Stauraum unter der Dachschräge.

Alle Möbel wurden sorgfältig ausgewählt und im entspannten Landhausstil handbemalt.

Zur Beheizung gibt es elektrische Heizkörper, und das Brennholz für den Holzofen wird kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellt.

Wir stellen Bücher und Spiele zur Verfügung.

Die Betten sind bezogen, hochwertige Bettwäsche und Handtücher werden bereitgestellt, ebenso wie Strand- und Badetücher.

Der private Garten verfügt über einen Grill, Sitzgelegenheiten für 4 Personen, Liegestühle sowie einen Tisch und Stühle für 4 Personen.

Great play to stay

Great place to stay in ideal location close to beaches and other attractions. Accommodation was clean, comfortable and included everything you’d need. Pool and gardens were an added bonus and owners were very hospitable.

Fantastic accommodation in a wonderful location.

We had a wonderful week here in May. The accommodation was fantastic and in a lovely quiet location but still close to local amenities. The swimming pool was glorious and a big hit with the children! Some lovely beaches just a short drive away. Plenty to do in the local area too. A really lovely holiday!

Perfect holiday

The accommodation was lovely, looks just like in the photos and was well equipped and clean. The garden was such a bonus and was a great space for children to play whilst we relaxed on the garden furniture provided. We loved the location as there were quiet, sandy beaches, a supermarket and nice walks nearby. Stewart and Tricia were the most helpful and welcoming owners imaginable and went out of their way to make our stay perfect in every way. We would highly recommend this holiday.

Perfect Country Property

Lovely cottage in a great location

The cottage was well appointed with everything we needed (although the washing machine took a bit of time to figure out!). The swimming pool was a big hit with the kids! There is lots to do in the area and the cottage being near the sea was great for beach visits. The gardens around the cottage are a lovely feature and there is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy being outdoors. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were tastefully decorated. Thanks for a lovely time

Wonderful base for family with young children

Les Hibou is a beautiful barn conversion set up perfectly if you are travelling with young children. The house was well equipped and very clean. The large garden is easily accessed and perfect for children to let off steam. The owners were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The house is located in a hamlet about 1 mile from Plomodiern where you can get all supplies needed for a weeks stay. The beaches in the area were stunning and again ideal for young children - easily accessible, sand for castles and plenty of rock pools! We would definitely recommend Les Hibou and the region and are keen to return.

Perfectly charming gite in quiet countryside

We had an amazing stay at Les Hiboux. It’s perfectly French chic styled and was extremely well appointed with all the you would need away from home. The setting in the crook of a stream is idyllic. The only noise was our dogs barking at owls!! Stuart and Trish are fabulous hosts and on hand with good advice and ideas about the area. We were on maximum chill out and it certainly made for a relaxing break. The nearby beaches were fantastic to run our crazy cockapoo gang. It’s a really unspoilt part of Brittany and we enjoyed a few trips out to local towns. Highly recommended.

Stunning location, fantastic house

Beautiful house, with spacious grounds which the children thoroughly enjoyed, spending hours on the swings, in the pool and playing with the other outdoor games provided. The house itself is as pictured but was more spacious than the photos let on. The kitchen is extremely well equipment, the beds comfy, the shower powerful and hot and the garden furniture and Bbq a real bonus. The setting for the house is quite special, and so quiet. The owners were friendly and made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble.The beaches in and around the area are stunning. We also loved the table tennis table which is a new addition.An amazing holiday, thank you.

The Best <3

We *l o v e d* our stay in Les Hibous, it is really home away from home. The interieur is chosen with attention to the detail, the cottage is clean and well equipped. We (and especially our dog Benedict) loved the fenced garden with entrance from our living room, the sun loungers and the BBQ. Another highlight is the pool across the yard. The cottage is located outside Plomodiern, so a car is definitely recommended, beaches are 10-15 min away, a huge supermarket around 5 min (all by car). The cherry on the cake are the hosts Tricia and Stewart. They are around whenever needed with good advice on insider tips or just to have a nice chat. If we come back to the Bretagne, we would love to stay again (but longer this time ;)

Lovely rural retreat

Nice and cosy 2 bed room flat with lovely garden and outside dining area. We took our small dog and it was ideal, as the garden had a gated area which kept him enclosed and happy. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and a lovely welcome gesture of a food and wine parcel was a nice touch. The hosts were great as we had a problem with TV and they immediately purchased a new one. The local town was 1km away and quite quiet but with a very well stocked supermarket. 10 mins to local quiet beach and 30 mins from the busier resort of Corzon (which had a great Wednesday market) every other week). We didn't use the pool as my shy teenage daughter was a little reticent to share it with the other younger families in the neighbouring properties. Would definitely recommend.

Breton Idyll

Stewart and Tricia have created a wonderful environment in which to escape from the fast lane. Even the furnishings and colour scheme are soothing. Our two teenage daughters loved the pool and the freedom of the extensive grounds. Stewart even magicked a trampoline from 'somewhere'! Plomodiern has an excellent supermarket and interesting markets twice a week. The beach at Kervezean (sp?) was a 10 minute drive. Golden sands and surprisingly very warm sea for swimming. Very close for easy trips to our favourite places of Morgat, Quimper and Locronan. Our whippet loved the wild walks straight from the door, where each evening we would go on nature hunts. Surprising sightings included owls, jays, hares, red deer, baby newts, hummingbird hawksmoth and an adder. Our two weeks in the beautiful Breton countryside will keep us going for a long time.

A very nicely situated cottage in an unspoilt area

The cottage is well equipped, stylish and supplied with everything needed to get your holiday started, we were left a bottle of wine and cider, a nice touch, there are supplies of all the basics including washing up liquid, a few dishwasher tabs, basic toiletries and things like a proper coffee machine with filter papers, lots of the things which you find often you have to go out and buy the day you arrive with many rentals. The cottage was warm and we used the log fire in the evenings when it was colder although there are electric radiator heaters for convenience. the TV worked and you could get English channels. It is not far from some splendid beaches and the pizzeria in the village does splendid pizzas and if you want to splash out there is a high class restaurant there also and 'the Oasis' at the beach is very good and patronised by the locals, aim to eat after 7;30 which seems to be the time the locals start.

Fantastic property in peaceful location !

We stayed in Les Hiboux for 2 weeks in early August with our 6 year old son. My mother joined us for our second week and shared the twin room with our son. The accommodation was perfect for us, it was spotless. Stewart and Tricia made us very welcome on arrival and were always available if we needed to ask anything. The cottage was well stocked and there was a generous complimentary supply of fresh produce (milk, butter, coffee, croissants, biscuits, vin rouge, bread etc.) on our arrival. We enjoyed relaxing in the garden behind Les Hiboux whilst our son was enjoying the swings and playing in the garden. We used the BBQ on several occasions. The swimming pool was perfect for us and we all enjoyed it. We traveled by ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo overnight. We were amazed how quiet the roads were from St Malo to the cottage. We stopped at Quintin, approx 90 mins from St Malo, a nice village with ample parking near the church, a playground, and of course a handy boulangerie ! The lovely sandy beaches near the cottage were virtually empty until the locals arrived around 3-4pm. It was perfect. We ate at both L'Ane Rouge and Le Kreiz-Ker in Plomodiern and enjoyed their plats du jours. We also ate at Le Grand Bleu twice as we liked it so much. We were fortunate to see the annual Fete du Menez-Hom in Plomodiern where the locals dressed in traditional clothing and danced, sang and played music processing around the town. We enjoyed our holiday so much that we have already booked to return in 2018 with friends.

Gemütliches Ferienhaus in ruhiger, idyllischer und gleichzeitig zentraler Lage

Familienfreundliche, gemütliche Ferienunterkunft mit schönen Stränden, Ausflugszielen und viel Natur in unmittelbarer Umgebung. Tricia und Stewart sind sehr aufmerksame und freundliche Gastgeber, die stets um das Wohlbefinden der Gäste bemüht sind und mit wertvollen Ratschlägen den Aufenthalt noch angenehmer machen wollen. Besonders überrascht waren wir vom tollen Willkommenspaket, das wir so noch nie erlebt haben. Insgesamt ein herrlich erholsamer Aufenthalt in einem geschmack- und liebevoll eingerichteten Ferienhaus. Vielen Dank für die wunderschönen 14 Tage.

Idylle auf dem Land

Sehr hübsches kleines Landgut mit 3 Einheiten/ Häusern. Direkt in der Natur. Absolute Ruhe. Schöner kleiner beheizter Pool in typischen Steinmauern. Der Gastgeber Stewart ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wenige Autominuten zum Dorf mit guten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und 10 Minuten Fahrt zu schönen Stränden. Empfehlung!

1000 Dank lieber Stewart für die super schöne Zeit bei Euch. Das Haus ist toll eingerichtet u. die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Besonders der Pool u der Garten hat den Kindern ganz besonders gut gefallen. Wir können das Haus nur weiterempfehlen und kommen gerne nochmal.

Schönes Ferienhaus in ruhiger und idyllischer Lage

Wir verbrachten eine Woche im kleinen Paradies von Stewart und Tricia. Das Haus ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet, die Küche sehr gut ausgestattet und der Garten sehr idyllisch mit vielen Spielgeräten für Kinder. Auch das beheizte Schwimmbecken ist klasse. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Alles war perfekt! Thank you for everything!

Great Family-Cottage

First of all, Stuart and Tricia are lovely hosts. From the welcome package including cereals, bread, milk, wine, coffee etc. up to answering every question and solving every issue that occured to our absolute satisfaction without ever beeing intrusive in any way. The cottage is in perfect condition, very cozy, clean and comfortable. Anything you could be in need of is provided. From kitchen stuff to fireplace utils. A very nice garden is part of the place where every child (and dog ;) ) can play without worries. The surroundings are is very calm and the town of Plomodiern offers options to buy anything you need for your stay. The wunderful Lestrevet Beach is literally just 10 Minutes drive away. We enjoyed beeing there very much. Also this place is a good starting point for visiting other places in Finistere. We would definitively recommend going there. Thanks a lot and best regards. David

Mehr als erwartet

Kurz gesagt: Es war einfach alles perfekt. Die Vermieter sind außerordentlich freundlich und entspannt. Das alte Bauern ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Es fehlte an nichts. Die Anlage mit der Wiese, den Bäumen und dem Bach ist traumhaft. Es ist ein herrlicher Ort mit einer wunderbaren Aura. Auch das Schwimmbad war wunderbar für unsere Kinder. Für die tollen Strände muss man etwas weiter fahren (30 Minuten). Das ist es aber absolut wert. Ich bin mir sicher, wir kommen wieder! :o)

Originally from Jersey, we have lived in Plomodiern with our two little girls for three years. We fell in love with the beautiful, uncrowded beaches and unspoilt coastline which we found in the area, and decided to live here permanently. We have made friends and enjoy a peaceful way of life, making the most of the wonderful beaches when work permits. We truly feel we have found a little slice of heaven!

We love Plomodiern because of its accessability to a whole number of stunning beaches, the nearest of which is just a ten minute drive away on roads that are guaranteed traffic jam free! There is a different beach for every mood: surfing, swimming, rockpooling, kayaking, or you can seek out the little coves accessed only by narrow cliffpaths if you prefer.
We are also within easy reach of the busier beaches on the south coast, such as Pont Aven and Concarneau, for a daytrip, though we always breath a sigh when we get back home to our little idyl!
In summer, our village hosts traditional weekly Breton dances and a vibrant market day, plus the wonderful fete de Menez Hom in August, when visitors from the whole of Brittany wear their local costumes and dance through the streets.

With so many unspoilt beaches on our doorstep, find a beach for every mood: swimming, surfing, rockpooling, or discovering little coves. Our gite will suit all who enjoy exploring those havens off the beaten track.
For a daytrip, choose the more touristic beaches at Pont Aven, Concarneau, or Audiern, all just over an hour away. We will provide beach towels and parasols to make packing easier.
Alternatively, relax at the poolside or enjoy our tranquil gardens, which are edged by a pretty stream where kids can potter, and bordered by trees and a small woodland area. We provide sunloungers and barbecues for al fresco eating in luxury. Plenty of outdoor equipment is available plus swings and a trampoline and soft archery, and for the little ones, bikes for supervised cycling, toys and cot/highchair/buggy/carseat.
We have built a heated swimming pool within the walls of one of our beautiful ruined, roofless buildings. A terrace is available at the poolside for sunbathing, screened from other buildings by hedging and shrubbery.
