The house was perfect for our visit - 11 family members between 6 and 80. Rooms were spacious and comfortable with interesting, sometimes quirky, furnishings, child-friendly too, a well-equipped kitchen and a huge dining table just right for an 80th birthday celebration. Extremely comfortable beds meant even Storm Boelo at its worst rattling some windows didn't bother us much. We loved the underfloor heating in some rooms and heating control was good throughout. It's a perfect house for a winter stay, but would be lovely in summer with the small outside corner with seating, and the front balcony looking out over the roofs towards the river and Abbey. (Our 6 and 9 year-olds still managed to do a little dance there!) Parking was as tricky as ever in Whitby, but the scratch cards were very useful enabling free parking - the only slight problem was dropping off and picking up luggage on arrival as the street in front was often completely full, but we managed. Position was perfect for shops, pubs and restaurants as well as walks down to the quayside and across the bridge. Information about the property, arrival and departure, was well communicated. A lovely stay!Sheila
