Thank you also for your comments regarding the ceramic hob and tumble dryer. With regard to the hob, we would just like to clarify that there is no fault with the appliance. The ceramic hob will only operate when a suitable pan is correctly positioned on the relevant cooking zone. Our property manager was able to explain this during your stay, after which the hob was operating correctly. Instructions for the hob are also provided in the welcome folder for guests. We are sorry to hear that you found the dryer less effective than expected. Tumble dryers can operate differently from those guests may be accustomed to, and we will certainly take your comments on board. I’m glad to hear that you appreciated the roominess and cleanliness of the property . South Doll Farm Cottage dates back in parts over 400 years and, as such, the downstairs part of the property has extremely thick walls in order to keep the warmth in in winter and cool in the slightly warmer summer months. During the dates that you stayed with us, Scotland was experiencing an extremely rare heatwave and, as such, June 2023 has been recorded as Scotland’s hottest June on record . This may explain why you found it hotter in the upstairs part of the property however, as this is such a rare occurrence in Scotland , it really is a one off. I am also at a loss regarding your comment about not syncing up well with regards to communication between the property manager and yourself - we have a whole trail of emails between a member of your group and the property manager to which she responded immediately and put on the heating as requested. She also told your group member to turn off radiators upstairs; the trail of emails is there. Regarding your comment that ‘you will not have access to the entire property, and that other guests are staying on other parts of the property’ - this is entirely untrue . South Doll is a private property with its own private entrance and absolutely no parts of the house are shared with any other guests. It does, however , form part of a traditional farm setting with a courtyard at the rear of the house which has a yard, out houses and barns used by the owner (and not for use by guests of the cottage) of the main farmhouse which is out of view from South Doll Farm Cottage. As there is a huge front area with outside furniture exclusively for use of guests from South Doll Farm Cottage I am unsure as to why you felt the need to go off exploring the other , private , parts of the courtyard area. The property manager is upset that Claire hasn't communicated with you her conversations with the property manager , Carole. Carole gave full instructions and suggestions to just use the fire and not put radiators on upstairs in 28c temperature. Carole worked hard to meet your requirements and received a lovely email from Claire in appreciation. As you can imagine , she's shocked by this review
