Town: Christchurch, a charming Dorset waterside town, is located on the estuaries of the Rivers Stour and Avon, where they meet to make a wonderful natural harbour. Christchurch is a true gem of a city, providing guests with a fantastic and varied holiday experience. The town centre has a variety of beautiful shops and excellent restaurants, and the 11th century castle ruins and the magnificent Medieval priory, the country's longest parish church, are both worth seeing. A visit to Christchurch would not be complete without a stroll down to the charming quayside, where you may drink refreshments while watching the ever-changing boating scene, or taking one of the many regular boat tours along the tranquil River Stour. Take your buckets and spades to one of the neighbouring beautiful sandy beaches, then take a ferry ride from Mudeford Quay across the entrance of the harbour to the sandbank with its colourful assortment of little beach houses. If all of the local attractions become too much for you, head to Bournemouth, a nearby family-friendly resort, or visit the New Forest National Park, both of which are only a short drive away.
