Houghton Farmhouse ist ein Bauernhaus mit 7 Schlafzimmern und 4 Bädern, in dem bequem 18 Personen übernachten können.

Das Haus wurde im 19. Jahrhundert auf seine heutige Größe ausgebaut und dient als Haupthaus für einen arbeitenden Pächter. Die denkmalgeschützten und schönen Bauernställe sind noch vor Ort und tragen zur Majestät des Anwesens bei.

Es gibt zwei große Empfänge, darunter ein Esszimmer für 18 Personen und ein "intelligenter" Fernsehraum. Die Gärten sind weitläufig und verfügen über ein separates Spielezimmer und einen beheizten Pool (20 x 8 m mit einer Gesamttiefe von 4 m).
Das Haus ist zu einem modernen und äußerst komfortablen Standard mit allen erdenklichen Annehmlichkeiten ausgestattet. Eine voll ausgestattete Küche, in der Ihre kulinarischen Säfte frei fließen können, sei es für einen schnellen Imbiss für alle oder für ein 5-Gänge-Bankett für 18 Personen, um den besonderen Anlass zu feiern.

Houghton Farmhouse ist ideal für Familienfeiern. um diesen Hochzeitstag, besonderen Geburtstag zu feiern oder einfach Freunde und Familie unter einem Dach zusammen zu bringen

Der Garten ist c. 1 Hektar groß und sehr privat. Wir haben eine der ehemaligen Scheunen in ein Spielzimmer umgewandelt, das Tischtennis, Billard und zahlreiche Spiele usw. umfasst.

Die Küche verfügt über eine begehbare Speisekammer und einen separaten Hauswirtschaftsraum mit Waschmaschine, Geschirrspüler und separatem großem Kühlschrank und Gefrierschrank.

Die Lounge verfügt über weiche Sitzgelegenheiten für 18 Personen und einen neuen Holzofen, der im Dezember 2015 installiert wurde. Es gibt einen an der Wand befestigten Sony Smart TV mit Surround-Sound-Cinema-System, der mit dem Internet verbunden ist und eine Film-Bibliothek für die verregneten und faulen Tage in. Lovely place to stay!

We have literally just got back from Houghton on what was a fantastic weekend away with the family over Mother's Day weekend. The house is exceptionally clean and was lovely and warm. I read about another customer complaining about heating surcharge but this was not an issue to us. The only things which we can think of which are in no way criticisms but more feedback for the benefit of future customers is that it would be great to have stair guards at the bottom of the stairs too. We were impressed that there were stair guards at the top of the stairs though! We think it would be lovely to get some more lighting in the pool enclosure as we all would have liked to have had an evening swim. The only other thing is that it was really muddy outside the games room so perhaps a little step or something? Not an issue in the summer but we had a lot of rain this weekend. We found the house warm and comfortable equipping us with everything we could possibly think of! Perhaps some little history of the house would be nice in the visitor folder. In no way a criticism that this was not included though! These are again not complaints but the only things we could think in order to help the management of this beautiful place! Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Fantastic Hen Weekend

I stayed at Houghton Farmhouse for my hen weekend in July and I have to say it was the most perfect weekend! There were 14 of us and we all had such an amazing time. On arrival to have milk in the fridge and some wine on the table was very thoughtful. The house itself was a dream - all the bedrooms were beautiful, light and airy with good selection of beds in each room. The beds themselves were so comfortable and bedding luxurious. The kitchen was better equipped than my house at home and everyone staying said how much they would love it! The huge fridge and freezer in the separate room were also much appreciated on the very hot weekend for storing our wine (and food)!! The gardens and outside spaces are also well equipped so we were able to have a wonderful BBQ outside and all sit around with plenty of seating for everyone. Similarly inside the lounge is a great area to all sit around and socialise and we didn't feel squashed in at all. It is a short distance to Wells beach which is lovely and the nearby villages also look great for exploring and we can't wait to go back again. I would highly recommend this for any groups or families as its a wonderful house and I will have so many memories from the perfect weekend.

Perfect Weekend

For my 35th Birthday we booked Houghton Farmhouse for 18 of us, and from the moment we arrived to the moment we left we had a truly idyllic stay. The house was perfect for a large group, beautifully decorated (unlike so many holiday rentals) spotlessly clean, spacious, and with huge beautiful garden. Each room was decorated differently, decently sized and with gorgeous furniture. We cooked a lot! And the kitchen had every utensil we could wish for and the Aga was a dream to cook on, and with the dining room connected it made for dinner party heaven! We also had wonderful weather so made use of the modern BBQ. We did not have one complaint and are already booking for next year once the pool is finished! Clair was so helpful right through the booking process and on hand if we needed her during the weekend. We cannot recommend the house enough! It was the perfect weekend.

Beautiful home and surroundings

We had a wonderful family holiday, the house was perfect. The house was well equipped and had generous space for large parties. We were able to enjoy socialising together and also have separate living space without being on top of each other. Beautiful garden; perfect for dining, playing and relaxing! The games room had table tennis, pool table and subuteo table extra sofas and kids toys.... Enough entertainment for all ages. A beautiful home with lovely surroundings. The house is clean and very well presented with lovely big bedrooms; even the smallest bedroom is spacious. We all had a lovely time and will be returning. Thank you Clair

We definitely hope to visit again!

We stayed at Houghton Farmhouse for 2 weeks in August. Two families with a combined 4 adults and 7 children and still had rooms to spare! The children loved the house – the beautiful orchard gardens and playroom were a constant source of fun and adventure! The house is charming, clean and looks great from an interior point of view. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need and we loved the AGA! The area is lovely – within 20m drive from beaches, golf courses etc. We definitely hope to visit again!

A few grumbles

I stayed for a three night long weekend with 6 other women, we have rented weekend accommodation once a year for many years in Norfolk and Suffolk. It is the first time I have felt the need to air a few grumbles! We paid a premium price for what we understood to be premium accommodation. I had a double downstairs bedroom, one of the window panes was cracked from top to bottom in a couple of places and had obviously been there some time as the plastic cover (intended to keep out the drafts?) was painted into the frame. My friend also had a downstairs room and some of the curtain hooks had been broken leaving the curtain half hanging off the pole. On our first night we found the seven dinner plates we went to use had old encrusted food left on them, in fact we could see what the previous people had eaten! The living room lighting was just not up to par, the only side light had no bulb and the alternative was full overhead lights! Perhaps our biggest grumble was the £100 surcharge for heating. No matter if we had had the heating on full blast 24hours a day would we have consumed a £100 worth of fuel in the few days we were there. As it was we had the heating on for a few hours in the evening and the morning and felt there should be some sort of meter system if the owners feel the need to add on heating charges. Apart from these few grumbles we had a lovely stay and enjoyed the house, the beds are indeed very comfortable and the bedding was of high quality. The kitchen was well equipped and we were pleased to see the wine on the table when we arrived and milk in the fridge.

A lovely stay at a lovely house!

Myself, my partner and friends have done many cottage breaks away before but this is by far the biggest place we have stayed with the most amount of people. I surprised my partner for his birthday and had all of our friends come to join us for the weekend. The house is stunning when you drive up to it, better than in the pictures! There is so much land, so great if the weather is good (like is was for us)! The girls sat around the garden area and had music playing in the games room and the boys went to the back of the garden and played football. We had a lovely BBQ one day and cooked in the kitchen the other. The BBQ and the kitchen both had everything you would need and more! No need to bring any equipment with you. The rooms were big and very comfortable. My partner and I had the room with the bathroom and it was very comfortable and the shower was lovely. There is so much to the house its easy to get lost and feel like you are in some sort of manor house. The decor is great, the TV room is very comfortable with a good selection of DVD's, the games room went to good use in the evenings and the dining room was a lovely place to have meals. We all cooked together and there is plenty of space and a big aga too! Overall we all loved our stay here, it can be enjoyed by young 20-somethings (like us) who went for a break away from London and to eat and drink all weekend or a big family get-together. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this to anybody who wants a relaxing cottage break. The owner was also very helpful and requested the cleaners put birthday banners up for me to surprise my partner before we got to the house- a very nice touch! The house was clean and as stated in the description. There is a pub nearby and a big tesco a short drive away. We didn't hear any neighbors and it was generally very quiet and peaceful all weekend.

Even better than the photos

This place is incredible - spacious, peaceful, well-equipped, clean and perfect for a family or group gathering. We booked it for a university reunion, 13 of us and 3 young kids, and it was ideal. It is really out the way, so takes a while to get there, but thats part of the charm and why it is such a great place to get away from it all. Ample spaces for car parking, a wonderful big kitchen (with an Aga!) and dinning room, comfortable lounge with enormous TV, and the most amazing huge garden with fruit trees and a big flat lawn area for the kids (and adults) to have a kickabout on. The bedrooms were all great, the entrance hall is really impressive, and there is even a games room to while away the evening playing pool, darts, table football and so on. Limited phone signal for some of us but the Wi-fi was strong throughout the house, so people could still use their gadgets. We made the most of the beautiful local countryside, enjoyed a day on the coast with a trip to the beach at Wells (only 20mins or so away), and had the most amazing pub lunch at The Bull Inn in Walsingham (also tried the Black Lion, but thats one to avoid I think!). But we really could have spent the whole weekend in the house and garden. The pool wasn't finished when we visited so we couldn't use that, so we'll definitely be coming back on another get-together to make the most of that! All in all, a real 5* place to stay, we loved it.

Excellent holiday

This property was perfect for us as a large family group of 18 celebrating a milestone birthday! Everywhere was clean and of good quality with enough comfy seating/ dining space for us all. The games room was a huge hit with the everyone and meant we rarely used the tv! We were guided towards the fantastic Walsingham Farm shop down the road who were incredibly helpful in advance planning of a meal for 18 using their lovely fresh produce collected on the day and even the aga didn't daunt us but cooked our meal to perfection! Excellent service all round....highly recommended .

Delightful house - would love to return!

I spent a long time looking for a property in which to celebrate my 40th birthday with family and friends. Houghton Farmhouse absolutely met my specific criteria for something very special which was comfortable, well located, spacious and decorated to a high standard. The whole house has been sympathetically restored and each of the rooms were beautifully finished so that none of my guests felt they had to compromise on space or decor. The children, and adults, loved the massive garden and we all made use of the games room. Sitting outside on a warm Autumn Sunday was an absolute treat and the children's toys provided in the games room were great for outside play. Being inside the house was a joy. The kitchen was very well equipped so that I had everything I needed to cook for 18 people (there is a large freezer, as well as large fridge, I don't recall the freezer being listed in the property's facilities at the time I booked). The lounge was large enough to accommodate lots of us who wanted to watch TV and the dining room provided a luxurious setting for my birthday meal. My favourite room was the kitchen for it's high standard of finish and that gorgeous Aga, which I took to very easily when cooking for us all. In nearby Walsingham we made use of the lovely farm shop and chocolate deli, and Wells next the sea was nearby and well worth a visit. The owners were responsive to any queries we had prior to our visit and provided plenty of contact details should we have needed their assistance during our stay. We would love to return to Houghton Farmhouse. It is such a lovely, comfortable property with all it's interesting historical features, that amazing entrance hall and the servants bells which we were so pleased to see had been retained. I would strongly recommend this property to anyone considering it and would definitely return myself.

It is uniquely situated right in the middle of all the most desirable corners of north Norfolk, making it the perfect base for a holiday here. The house is also lovingly cared for and resorted, and arranged in a great layout, perfect for a holiday for up to 18 people, be they family or friends.
