Great location with stunning views!

We spent 10 nights in this location and loved being able to walk down to the ocean for a swim and enjoy drinks and food while enjoying the view. Close to Sete Cidades and many other great areas to explore. Wonderful host! Bed and pillows could use improving but we stayed for 10 nights so maybe a shorter stay it would be more tolerable! The back yard was huge, beautiful and so private! We would stay here again!

The host (and prooperty manager) were very helpful and communicative - giving us lots of suggestions for things to do and places to eat. She also gave us a lovely welcome basket. The views are stunning! The best sunset on the island is around the corner from the house. The house is a bit off the beaten path (despite the look out point being a hot spot), it is quiet and so relaxing. If you stay here, plan to rent a car as the nearby town is fairly small (still has some great places to eat though!) and most activities require driving.It was clean and well appointed - we would absolutely come back!

Amazing ocean views!

This house has the most phenomenal ocean views and is beautiful and clean. The hosts are super responsive and helpful and made the whole stay easy and smooth. A perfect spot in a peaceful town perched on the ocean.

Outstanding hospitality at an amazing location

Paula is a very thoughtful host. She cares for all kind of needs of her guests and was always available for us. We loved to be her guests and enjoyed a wonderful time at Beira Mar House.

The View!

We spent 10 days in January/February cozied up from the weather gazing out the wall of windows at the most spectacular view. We loved the town and the walks along the coastline right from the front door were stunning. I can see returning in warmer months to enjoy the beautiful outdoor space of the home. Our host was accessible and provided us with a very comfortable home.

Ocean breeze

My husband and I celebrated our 45th anniversary at this beautiful VRBO. We were greeted by Joao who gave us great information and left a very special welcome basket. After a busy day seeing the beautiful sights it was wonderful to relax at the Vrbo. The ocean breeze, sound of the waves and picturesque view were mesmerizing . We would definitely stay at Casa Beira Mar again.

Beautiful seaside retreat!

We loves our stay here!: we ended our 2 week vacation here and it was just perfect! Amazing view! And very spacious and comfortable! And Selma and Paula were great, responsive hosts! The house had everything you could want. And there were enough restaurants in town that we had plenty of dinner options we could walk to. Just a heads up ..if you are coming late in the season, check the restaurant hours in person as the hours become limited in mid-October.

Great views and clean home

The check in was very easy. We were met at the house and given personal instructions. Nice clean house with everything we needed. Selma responded when ever we had a question. She sent us discount codes and websites for tours. The only suggestions we have are repair the dryer handle and possibly update the towels. We would highly recommended anyone to stay here.Thank you.John

Wonderful

We had a wonderful time. The property is just beautiful. Sitting with a coffee in front of the house listening to the sea, is priceless. The location excellent with nice natural pools and Mosteiros is certainly one of the nicer villages. Being on one extreme of the island is not really an issue as it is small. Selma was an excellent, very attentive host.

This lush and unique place is unforgettable!

With the beautiful and ever-changing views of the ocean and sky from the front windows, to the 2-minute walk to the best sunsets on the island, we so enjoyed the house. In addition, the back yard space was wonderful and private. The only negative was that it was difficult to get air to flow, insect-free, through the house. However we understand that air conditioning will be installed. Perfect!

Week in paradise

This rental, was everything and more. We enjoyed our daily adventures outside the town and reconvened at night in Mosteiros for the sunset at Sunset Dave’s and our sunrise each morning from the front porch. The house offered all that we needed for a family of 5 adults. You won’t be disappointed. Paula you were an amazing hostess, she meet us upon our arrival and gave us a list of things not to miss on the island. Thank you, thank you for sharing this beautiful home with us. Sarah

Wonderful stay seaside!

We had such a lovely stay! First of all, the location of the home is absolutely stunning - right on the water looking out at dramatic cliffs and crashing waves. The property is really amazing, with a big grassy backyard complete with hammock, swing, and great BBQ/eating area - and then of course the front yard overlooking the ocean with another eating area and two nice chairs. The only drawback to the front was that it happened to be pretty windy during our stay, but since the house has massive glass front windows, you can enjoy the view from inside too. The hosts were also so thoughtful - we were traveling with my baby and they worked with us on a flexible check in time, and provided all the baby necessities we needed - including things like baby shampoo we wouldn’t have even thought of! The home was spotlessly clean as well. The town of Mosteiros is super charming, has a very “local” feeling. One tip is to buy groceries in Ponta Delgada before arriving as the grocery store in town is quite small! Restaurants also book up so good to make reservations. But we loved the beaches and natural swimming pools. Thanks again for a wonderful time!

Superb Vacation Location

We spent 8 days and couldn't have been happier. The location was idyllic. We spent hours just watching the ocean and taking in the sun. Super clean and well appointed. The kitchen had all the necessities. The washer and dryer were an added bonus. Wifi was excellent. Beds and bedding were comfortable. Enjoyed using the outdoor grill. The grounds are spacious and shaded by large trees, which is great when you need a break from the sun. I fell alseep a couple of times in the hammock listening to the sound of the ocean and enjoying the cool breeze through the trees. There are several places to eat/drink within 500m. The natural swimming pools are also within 500m, although they can be crowded at times. Paula was an awesome host. She provided a lot of information prior to our arrival and was always ready to answer any questions we had. Once we arrived, check in was a breeze and she gave a complete tour of the house. I would diffinelty recommend this property and we will stay again if we return to the Azores.

Heaven on Earth!

I am so glad that we chose to stay in this part of the island and in this exquisite house in particular. Earlier reviews are correct: The pictures of this house are beautiful but cannot fully capture the majesty and comfort of the views and the rooms inside. The neighborhood is quaint and quiet. We enjoyed strolling the neighborhood, swimming in natural pools among the rocks, cooking at home in the nice kitchen, reading in the breeze on the hammock, and watching the sunrise with coffee and sunset with wine from the chairs in the front yard. We took day trips to other parts of the island via our rental car. We really enjoyed these car trips as they allowed us to really see and absorb the island’s different experiences and communities. The kitchen has everything you need (even a blender). The owner provided a generous selection of local treats and was available for anything we needed. I strongly suggest visiting either the King of Cheese or the Prince of Cheese store in Ponta Delgado and pick up some local delicacies there before you head up to the house. We hope to come back and visit again. This is heaven on Earth.

Fantastic Stay in Mosteiros!

We had the pleasure of staying in Paula's house for our second week on Sao Miguel. Paula's hospitality, friendliness and generosity are second-to-none. She was extremely generous with her time for our questions and making sure our stay was (more than) comfortable. She greeted us at the house with a smile and a wonderful welcome basket full of Azorean treats. She was also very helpful with recommendations and suggestions to help make our trip that much more special. The house is fantastic! The location is great for watching the waves and just unwinding. The huge, fenced backyard was a blessing to allow our toddler time to burn off some much-needed energy. We were very comfortable for our entire stay. The house is located in a nice little town with some good food options, and a market for any last-minute items. It was also located a quick 4 minute walk from a nice little sea-side bar offering snacks, very reasonably priced drinks, and a wonderful view of the sunset. We made our way there many times. The house is also a short 10-15-minute drive from Sete Cidades, which has some stunning views, and many great hikes. We had a wonderful time, largely due to Paula's hospitality. We would definitely reach out to Paula again on our next trip to Sao Miguel!

What a piece of paradise!

This place is absolutely incredible! An awesome piece of property in an awesome location! We stayed here for week and absolutely loved it. From the ideal picture perfect location (watching the ocean on the shoreline from our living room / front yard everyday) in a very quiet neighborhood to watching the sunsets only steps from our holiday home everything was perfect! Staying on the west side of the island is very quiet, we would often drive for 5-10 minutes before even seeing another car! Later in the afternoon, others would begin appearing from other parts of the island to watch the sunset and then would make their way home leaving our neighborhood quite again. :-) Food stores and restaurants are nearby (only a 5-15 min walk depending on which one). The home offers a very large private back lawn among trees with lounges and a hammock. There is a nice outdoor table under cover and fire stove with plenty of wood. We cooked on it twice during our visit! It's a little bit of a drive to get to Riberia Grande (~1 hour) or Ponta Delgata (~50 mins) or Furnas (~80 mins) but only ~20 mins to Sete Cidades! The Thermal springs and spa of Termas da Ferraria is also only 20 min drive. The Thermal Pool is a must visit! Ocean heated by volcano! These drive times are all within reason and you really feel like your back home to unplug in this beautiful property at the end of the day. Closer by, there is a black sand beach and pools with food / beverages within a 7-min walk from the unit

IN LOVE with this place (both the property and the island)

We stayed for 2 weeks. I wish we could have stayed for 2 months, or longer. We couldn't believe how magical the property was. The pictures don't do it justice. This house gets HEAD ON views of the sunrise AND beautiful sunset views, though to see the sun go down beyond the horizon line, you need to walk about 4 minutes along the coastal promenade (oh darn!). Speaking of the coastal promenade and sunset views, this property is tucked away on a very private and gorgeous coastal road and yet it's just minutes by foot from one of the best places on the island to watch the sunset. Step out the door and stroll along the ocean just a few minutes to arrive at a bunch of stone picnic tables with grills where you can create your own sunset picnic. Go a few feet further and you'll find yourself at the natural pools, where you can swim and also lay out in the sun, as well as Sunset Steve's bar, a chill place to enjoy a beer or ice cream in the afternoon thru early evening. A few steps further there's a never-crowded black sand beach. A whale-watching and sunset cruise company is walking distance from the house (Terra do Pico). O Americo is an outstanding local restaurant. In short, we also fell in love with the town of Mosteiros. The only downside is its distance from most of the island's main attractions: plan to spend 40-80min driving to most things. For us it was worth it for the tranquil ocean-front home in Mosteiros. Local owner and host Paula went ABOVE AND BEYOND at every turn!!

Das Haus hat eine wunderschöne Lage, die Aussicht ist wirklich atemberaubend. Die Kommunikation mit Selma war sehr gut. Wir konnten sogar vor der normalen Check in Uhrzeit ins Haus.Leider hat für uns unterm Strich aber das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht so richtig gepasst. Das Haus war für die 5 Tage im August überteuert. Von der Wand hinter dem Bett im Dachgeschoss blätterte großflächig die Farbe ab, der Trockner hat nicht funktioniert und Lampen z. T. auch nicht. Und es gibt keine Spülmaschine, was wir bei der Buchung aber selbst hätten merken müssen. Sollte aber bei dem Preis selbstverständlich vorhanden sein.
