Whilst the seaside town of Filey is famous for a great day at the beach, there are various other attractions in the local area that will leave you spoilt for choice with where to explore first.
Glen Gardens is within easy walking distance less than a mile away, and offers beautiful parkland and gardens to explore, adventure golf and stunning views out over the coast. If you take your golf a little more seriously, Filey Golf Club is very nearby, just a little further on from Glen Gardens.
For those wanting to immerse themselves in nature, why not make your way down to the Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast for a spot of spectacular bird watching at the Bempton Cliffs. An established nesting spot from March – October, over 200,000 Puffins, Gannets, Kittiwakes and Guillemots take to the ledges of the white chalk cliffs almost 400ft up from sea level.
The larger town of Scarborough is also only roughly a 20 minute drive away and offers lots more to see and do. You can visit the famous Rotunda Museum, a beautiful building housing unusual and interesting artifacts, or take a tour around Scarborough Castle, a medieval stronghold now looked after by English Heritage, with a busy calendar of live events throughout the year.
