Looking forward to our next stay

The Parlour is ideal for two. Fitted out to a high standard with everything you need. Made to feel very welcome. Well located for the park & ride and buses into York.

Lovey Stay

The Parlour at Brecks is a lovely property. The perfect stay for the two of us and our little dog. Clean and tidy nice welcome goodies for humans and doggies. The outside is also very clean and beautiful. Close to the city of York very easy tp visit our daughter who lives in the city. We were here during a heatwave the weather was glorious. Very enjoyable stay.

Another wonderful stay

The Parlour is a well appointed, clean and cosy cottage. Guy and Tracy couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating in meetimg the needs of members of our party with limited mobility. This is our second stay in this beautiful cottage and we'll definitely be back.

Christmas at The Parlour

Loved it here! Such a lovely cosy feel. The raised step and the slightly wider doors meant I could be with mum (who’s in a wheelchair) at Christmas. The owners were lovely too and were friendly and helpful. Couldn’t have been any better.

Gorgeous cottage in tranquil surroundings within 10 mins drive to York city centre

Loved 'The Parlour' cottage. My son and I were there for 5 days and enjoyed the calm, beautiful surroundings. The converted farm cottages are beautifully built and sit in a gorgeous setting with horses, ducks, herons, swallows and owls close by. The owners were lovely... R

Gorgeous luxury retreat

We have just returned from a week’s stay at The Parlour in A Brecks Away in Haxby, York. This was an absolute wonderful find. A very clean accommodation, with everything you need. When sitting in the garden enjoying a Pimms, opposite are a field of sheep. Our two dogs were kept on extendable leads to ensure they could not get out of the garden. To the left was a lovely mowed walkway around a duck pond and in the evenings an Owl came to visit. Guy came over to introduce himself, and let us know to contact him if we had an issues, which we didn’t. Parking for 1 car just outside the retreat. We will definitely be back.

Mr Fantucchio

Lovely property in a great location. Beautifully styled with every need catered for . Just a couple of niggles . It was quite warm in the barn but only one window in the kitchen opened. Would be nice to have more ventilation. Also would be nice to have an enclosed outside space for our dogs , could be easily resolved with some wire mesh along fences.

Fabulous cottage in an ideal location

After excellent directions from Guy we parked up outside our cottage. Guy, Tracey and Tracey’s Mum were nearby so came to greet us and after a warm welcome we were soon inside. The Parlour is a beautiful cosy cottage, the log burner made it extra cosy on what was a very cold weekend but really wasn’t needed for heat just looked amazing when lit! The welcome pack is the best we’ve ever seen. Ideal location, a bus stop at the top of the drive into York if you don’t want to use the car or it’s just a few minutes from Rawcliffe Bar park and ride. Plenty of shops, restaurants, cafes within minutes too.?

Christmas at Brecks Farm on the outskirts of beautiful York. A magical trip to remember.

This is my third time staying at Brecks farm, I love it here. It’s a lovely place to switch off. The cottages and surrounding area are beautiful. Access isn’t a problem for wheelchair users, ramps are incorporated into the paving so aesthetically you don’t notice, it’s those details that impress. The family are friendly and very welcoming too which always makes a difference.

Idyllic country stay

Amazing dog friendly accommodation. The house was spotlessly clean, and had everything you could ever need. It was a true home away from home. Rural, quiet and secluded, but only 10 minutes from York city centre and 5 minutes from a large supermarket. Guy and Tracey were wonderful and couldn’t have been more helpful. A perfect start to the festive season!

A nice breck away.

We stayed in 'the parlour' which open plan, one level, with a garden looking onto the front field where we could see the owl in the evening, hares and a pheasant. The cottage is modern and the bed was big and comfy. Farm is a few minutes from a Tesco and retail park but it's so quiet you wouldn't know, and the park & ride for York is 5 minutes drive away. Spent time watching the ducks and ducklings at the pond, and the other wildlife. A lovely relaxing break, or breck.

A quiet stay in busy York

The cottage was refurbished this year so everything was brand new. It was well equipped and comfortable with its own private patio and garden looking out over fields with sheep and horses. A very rural feel but only just outside the outer ring road of York. There is a bus service (1 or 2 an hour) to the city centre close by, or alternatively the Park and Ride at Rawcliffe Bar is a couple of miles drive away and from there the buses to the city centre are fast, frequent, and run until late - around 10.30 pm. It is also worth noting that the accommodation is very close to the Clifton Moor Retail and Business Parks where you will find a comprehensive range of furnishing, homewares and DIY stores plus restaurants, cinema and tenpin bowling. We found this very helpful as the main purpose of our visit was to help our daughter set up home in York. However, we were still close enough to take time out for the attractions of York, and it was lovely to have a peaceful place to go back to.

A perfect break away!

We had an excellent stay at Breks Away, the accommodation is first class with special touches like locally produced bread in the welcome pack. The location is perfect, close enough to York but easy to go out into rural areas - the hospitality is superb and the family genuine, caring and thoughtful making you feel valued and wanting to return again! We were recommended Breks Away and have already been doing the same.
