Just beautiful

We had a lovely trip to the house, which was large, airy and well looked after. Andrew was on hand and was so helpful. The pool was clean and very well maintained and we had a peaceful, enjoyable holiday in a quiet spot. Definitely recommend!

Excellent property set in beautiful region

A highly recommendable property - well equipped, extremely spacious, and with a superb private pool - a life-saver in hot weather. Easy access to such beautiful locations as Monpazier and the villages and chateaux that line the Dordogne river itself.

Great break in Bouillac

Nice, spacious house with a lovely garden and perfect pool for the kids. About 10 mins from Monpazier where we often went in the evenings and for breakfast. Would highly recommend for a calm and quiet base for exploring the area.

Paradise!

Absolutely stunning old stone and timber home in a very small village of the same. The home is perfectly secluded for complete privacy and to enjoy the gorgeous pool. Furnishings are lush and the home has everything you’ll need. Such a great Homebase to explore the region!

Gut: Kommunikation und Lage

We stayed at this property for a couple of weeks. After an 11-hour drive, we arrived to find that all of the upstairs shutters and windows had been left open. The heat inside the house was unbearable, and as a result we had to sleep on the lounge floor on our first night. We also found that the blind in the upstairs bedroom was broken.Having rented several properties in this area through VRBO over the years, we were surprised that there was no welcome folder or information pack with instructions for the house, local information or useful contact details. We also found prescription medication left in a kitchen drawer, which could have posed a serious risk had young children been staying at the property. Each morning we had to vacuum the kitchen floor because of the number of wood-boring beetles that had appeared overnight. They were on the worktops, kitchen table and floor, which was unpleasant. We do not know whether the issue had been treated, but it certainly wasn’t something we expected to deal with every day.The swimming pool had no cover, and the pool alarm had been removed, which may be a concern for families with young children. The surrounding area is beautiful, and we know it well, which is why we chose this property. However, we felt the house itself was looking tired, was not as clean as we had expected, we felt it was overpriced. It’s a real shame, as with better maintenance and attention to detail it could have been better.

Beautiful stone property

This property is in the perfect location for exploring the region. So close to beautiful villages such as Belvès Beaumont and Monpazier. The property itself is in a lovely little hamlet. Very peaceful. The house is old and beautiful with stone exposed walls and wooden beams… gorgeous. There was a thoughtful welcome pack left for our arrival which was greatly appreciated. We slept wonderfully every night.. The pool is amazing…. a very welcome dip during hot days was priceless. The outdoor furniture could do with some updating but all in all, we made it work. The only issue we had, which did not affect our enjoyment was that the glassware/ crockery had a very strong musty odour. This may have been due to the age of the property/ kitchen cabinets. We washed everything before use and that alleviated all problems. Beautiful property, stunning location.

A wonderful place to relax in the middle of rural France

We had a lovely stay (10 days) - the location is wonderful, in a small hamlet deep in the countryside. The garden is generous, with a nice view down a small valley with woodland opposite. The pool is great - it's a good size and had just been relined when we stayed, so it looked almost new. There is also a pool alarm, which is helpful for visitors with children. We were harassed by hornets when using the pool in the daytime (although they seemed to desist at night), so there may be a nest nearby. The property is managed on behalf of the owners by an English guy who lives close by. Andrew was extremely helpful and friendly - he helped resolve a couple of issues for us during our stay, and gave us lots of good advice on places to visit. The house is nice but slightly tired in places - the carpet is looking old and stained throughout, there are a few sockets hanging off walls and the kitchen is definitely showing its age. When we arrived there was no washing machine and the dishwasher was broken, but both of these issues were resolved towards the end of our stay (thanks!). I think a bit of a refurb and it would be an absolutely top end holiday let. Other things worth noting: - There are no shops in the village/hamlet (nearest boulangerie 10 mins away). - The bedroom with the twin beds is on a mezzanine floor, accessed by quite a steep and narrow wooden staircase - probably not suitable for very young children or those with mobility issues. - There is no TV (good!)

Algemene indruk: fantastisch mooi huis!

Sadly this group of quests proved to be very difficult and damaged the property. Their final act of disrespect was to throw the very old and dirty cover of our compost heap into the swimming pool. Sadly not everyone portrays themselves and the circumstances accurately.
