THE STUDIO APARTMENT
Nell Gwynn House is a large and distinctive residential development in one of London’s most desirable areas. Here’s your chance to experience what life’s like living inside it. However you get here, you’re sure to be impressed on arrival by the stunning art deco lobby that welcomes you into this grand building. The elevator will whisk you and your luggage up to the 6th floor where this studio apartment is located. And why not make use of the porter service available in the building if you want someone else to handle your bags?
Once inside, you’ll see this is a studio that packs plenty into its space, not least a king size bed so you can sleep in style every night of your stay. Two windows ensure you get plenty of natural light, including in the living area which features a sofa, a TV, a table and 2 chairs – ideal for snacks, meals, and if there’s work to be done. You’ll also find plenty of storage space for your belongings.
And here’s where renting this studio apartment has an advantage over many central London hotel rooms – you get your own kitchenette. It has a small dishwasher, fridge, oven, hob (stove top), washer/dryer and storage, so you can self-cater and take care of your laundry all from the studio apartment. Easy!
Last, but not least, the studio has a modern bathroom with a tub and shower overhead, plus a wash basin and WC. You’ll find good quality towels waiting for you, courtesy of the A Place Like Home team.
THE LOCAL AREA
Nell Gwynn House is a prime example of classic mid-1930s architecture, with plenty of symmetrical designs on show inside that were popular at the time and still a joy to behold today . The development is located on Sloane Avenue in Chelsea, close to a wide range of fashionable shops, award-winning eateries and popular entertainment venues. Some of the places you can easily reach on foot, by bike or using public transport include:

GETTING AROUND
Sloane Square and South Kensington are the nearest London Underground stations, both about a 10 minute walk from the studio apartment in Nell Gwynn House. Both stations are on the Circle and District lines – check out the Tube Map online to see all the places these lines can quickly connect you with. They include Victoria Station which is served by express train services from Gatwick Airport. If you’re flying into (or out of) Heathrow Airport, it’s good to know that South Kensington tube station is also served by the Piccadilly line which connects you directly with Heathrow.
Above ground, there are buses and taxis you can catch, plus a London cycle hire scheme you can register for. But, because this apartment is in such a great location, you may discover you can walk everywhere you need to go! Pets - not allowed Smoking - not allowed
Our standard check-in procedure is self-check in via key collection nearby, but If you would like someone to meet you at the home to show you in we can organise that for a £20 fee.
The stores we use are usually no longer than a 5-10 minute walk and we always try to make it as convenient as possible!

The flat suited our needs entirely.
Just a couple of minor things …need a broom/dustpan/brush..we were there for a month…and also a plug for the kitchen sink. Otherwise we were very happy there.

Great location, cozy, check-in process needs work.
The Nell Gwynn House is in a great location for exploring London, close to two underground stations, a Sainsburys, pubs and restaurants. The flat was very comfortable with everything we needed to relax after walking the city all day. We enjoyed the complimentary teas and coffee and toiletries. That's always a nice touch.The only reason I didn't give an overall 5 star rating was the check in process. We arrived after flying all night and no one at reception knew anything about us. I had previously given our flight info and when we expected to arrive. When I emailed the host I received an automatic message saying he was out of town for two days. After 40 minutes of frantic calling and panic that we were out the money and a place to stay, Viktor arrived. We hadn't dealt with him before but was very nice, apologetic, and got us settled in the flat. So, it was great once we were in, but the check in process needs some serious work. I would recommend this flat, but insist on clear communication.

Great Place & Location
Our first visit to London. The apartment is in a perfect location on the west side of London. Close enough to walk most places and two subway stops nearby. We liked the layout and the apartment complex. The front entrance was under construction but I will bet it will be spectacular when done. This did not affect our stay. The apartment is a hotel/apartment house. There are people at the desk all day that are very friendly and helpful.
The neighbor is quiet, no bars around. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a quieter place.
The only negative is the cleanliness. Apparently the cleaning crew are not very thorough. It wasn't bad but it definitely needs to be improved. The kitchen is great and having a washer/dryer was a great help.
I would stay here again.

Just what I needed
I had to stay in London for 15 days while my daughter did a boarding summer course. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money so this seemed like a good price. It’s small and a little bit dusty. But if you just need a place to stay with a great location, you don’t need more than this. It has everything you need. Not brand new, but it’s ok.
I didn’t think I would be needing air conditioning in London but there were some very hot days during my stay. There was a fan and I asked for another one and it was delivered the next day.
Very nice neighborhood, many stores, coffee shops, restaurants near by.

Lovely studio is poorly managed
While communication with the manager was easy and friendly, we were given the wrong code for the door resulting in stress and delay to get the key upon arrival. Then the wifi password had been changed and noone told us. Since we were arriving from overseas and had not had the chance to buy a SIM card, this meant we had o means of communication unless we used the wifi at Starbucks across the street. Having to pick up and drop off the key resulted in taxi charges of 40 pounds for us. Overall, a lot of stress and trouble that could be avoided

We do apologise and appreciate that the start was a little bumpy with the code having been used for the keys. It was very frustrating and must have been quite disconcerting. The reason we had to use the Londis key collection point is because it's open 24 hours and we wanted to make sure your 2200 arrival could be accommodated.
