Lovely property

This house suited our needs perfectly. Easy access to town and the station. It’s a beautiful house and had everything needed

Very handy for walking into Stratford

We stayed here with family and enjoyed the spacious house and garden. We particularly enjoyed being able to walk easily into Stratford along the canal tow path. Although the kitchen diner area was light and spacious there really needs to be blinds on the large patio doors as it was very hot but also both grandchildren bumped their heads after running into the doors thinking they were open.

Excellent location

Percy House is wonderfully located in a quiet suburban street within walking distance of Stratford upon Avon town centre with all its many attractions. The house is warm and cosy in winter and worked well for a three generation half term break. We were disappointed by some elements of cleanliness and minor maintenance issues and have reported these to Bolthole Retreats who have advised they will be addressed. My recommendation below is based on these issues being addressed.

Lovely property and good location

Ideal location, 10- 15 minutes walk to town centre along the canal side which was a beautiful walk. 2 bathrooms which is ideal for two couples or more. Although don’t use bathrooms at the same time for showering as poor preassure flow. Kitchen well equipped with variety of glasses. Very spacious down stairs. We would recommend for a family or 3 couples.

A lovely weekend

The property has been set up well, it is very nicely decorated, had everything we needed, plenty of space for five adults (including parking for two cars) and is a short walk into the centre of Stratford. We have had a lovely weekend visit.

Lovely stay in Stratford upon avon

The house is a short walk into the center of Stratford upon avon. It slept six adults comfortably, and is exactly as pictured, with a beautiful large kitchen diner over looking the garden. It is spotlessly clean and very well appointed and maintained, with off street parking. I would highly recommend if visiting the area.

Very conveniently located, spacious and modern

Percy House is tucked away at the end of a dead end road and the area is quiet and is located very close to the centre of Stratford. It is both spacious and modern, with good sized bedrooms. The house was clean and there is good space for two cars on the front. Only a few minor negatives - there was no pair of scissors in the kitchen, there is a bit of mould in the bathrooms ( a spray can get rid of that )

Fantastic House & Location

What a great find. Visited here for a wknd with friends (6 of us). Amazing kitchen. Only 10-15 mins walk in to the centre. Very quiet area. Off road parking for 2 cars. The loft conversion with en suite is a great bonus. Lovely sitting in the garden in the sun. Only criticism is the size of the beds. The double beds could be King size or at least the quilts, saves you fighting over it when sharing it with friends I would definitely return. Just a shame it isn't dog friendly.

Perfect for a family trip!

The property is every bit as luxe and cared for as it looks. The backyard was an extra bonus for our two year-old to run around in. This also has absolutely the best kitchen (in design layout and equipment) that I've ever had in a holiday let. Household cleanliness? Immaculate. I hope to return when we're next visiting the area.

Two-night stay in Shakespeare country

Great modern, newly-renovated house with lovely kitchen diner area and comfortable beds. Perfect location, just a ten-minute walk form the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon. Added bonus of off-road car parking too. Efficient and helpful communication with housekeeping when required. Only recommendation is for towel hooks to be added to the bathrooms.

Exploring Shakespeare's country

The house at 33 Percy Street really felt like a home away from home. Both my daughters declared it to be their dream house ! It was clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, a peaceful garden with table and garden chairs, 3 large bedrooms with comfy beds and pillows and 2 bathrooms. It is quiet with enough parking space for 2 cars which is a real treat in England.

Spotless, spacious and comfortable

Great location. Had everything we needed. Stayed with my 3 sisters and my 4 month old daughter. They even provided a travel cot and high chair without being asked. The kitchen diner was so light and a great area to chat and eat, whereas the living room was cosy- so there was a lovely balance to the communal areas. Location wise was also great for us as it is in a quiet residential area, but omly a 10 minute walk to the centre. We have a super weekend

Excellent location

The property was exactly as listed and had everything we needed. There was ample parking for 2 cars and It was a 15 minute walk from Stratford-upon-Avon where there are plenty of nice restaurants and shops. Our only grumble was that the house was far too hot when we arrived and the instructions for the thermostats were for different thermostats so we couldn’t adjust either of them and there was no valve on the lounge radiator so couldn’t turn that one off at all. Also the ledge on the bottom of the glass panel for the over bath shower also kept falling off meaning the water wasn’t contained in the bath. We would thoroughly recommend staying in this house.

A lovely property in a perfect location

We have recently enjoyed a four day stay at Percy House enjoying the spacious accommodation and very pleasing decor. It provided an ideal venue for us to meet up with friends who we hadn’t seen for a long time. There were 4 of us in all ie 2 married couples. The fact it was a short walk into town was ideal and saved us having to use our cars for this. However it was rather disappointing that the tv didn’t work at all right from the onset and there was no milk provided or fresh coffee (as promised in the house details) Also the level of cleanliness could have been much better we felt. There were toothpaste stains in one of the wash basins and the floor in the kitchen/dining area was covered in dust and crumbs. Our friends said their towels didn’t smell fresh and wondered when they had been last laundered. A shame we encountered a few negatives as the overall experience was a good one.

Image over form

The house has clearly been designed to let and is marketed on the huge kitchen-dining room. It is very impressive as you stand there, taking in the space and light. The sofas are comfortable, as are the beds, and the house has a certain surface-level appeal. There are some nice touches, like the Xbox and DVDs, but the lack of a welcome pack was disappointing. The kitchen lacked basics: no potato peeler or any kind of blender. There was also a lack of usable surface space once you started cooking. It has been designed to look good but functions poorly. In the fridge we found one pint of whole milk with about 100ml left—who leaves milk when cleaning? The cupboards contained a broken wine glass, mismatched dirty mugs, and not enough of the same type for six guests. The table had six chairs, four of which needed fixing; it’s only a matter of time before they break and someone is injured. In the utility room, the washing machine still had a baby’s bib inside. It’s clear that surfaces are cleaned and beds changed, but the cleaning stops there. The heating system was locked, and the kitchen relied on oil plug-in radiators. It wasn’t cold during our stay, but I can imagine it would be very chilly in winter. The sitting room, with two comfortable sofas, had an electric fire and a remote with flat batteries. The Xbox had only one controller, and the seating was really only suitable for four adults. Finding someone’s medical finger support down the side of the sofa was an unwelcome surprise. The bedrooms are spacious, as is the bathroom. However, we found two pairs of socks left behind by previous guests. The two single beds and one double were fine comfort-wise. The attic hosts another bedroom with a huge floor space, but the pillows were uncomfortable, and it’s baffling why there is only a double bed when a super king would easily fit. The shower looked great but sprayed water everywhere. Overall, it was okay. Unfortunately, it was the most expensive place we have stayed, and for the extra money it was poorer in all areas except space.

A great property with good communications

We stayed at Percy Street for a family celebration. It's well located for Stratford centre, parking was good, and it's at the end of a quiet close. The garden and kitchen/diner were great to celebrate in with family, and the whole property feels very clean, newly decorated and fresh. We stayed in June but I can see it would also feel cosy in winter. Samii, our contact, was really helpful when I called her to arrange some items regarding our stay. I can't think of any reason not to recommend staying here.

Lovely house

Have stayed in many holiday homes over 30 years and this one is a gem . The renovations and extension of the property have been very well done . Location excellent ,very quiet, but only a 10 minute walk into the town. You can also walk to the town via the canal towpath, lovely walk on a sunny morning and doesnt take much longer . Excellent value for money . Well done to the owners and the housekeeper .

Close to everything in Stratford Upon Avon

Percy Street is a great place to stay if you prefer to keep the car on the drive. Close enough to the town and just a mile or so from the Stratford Horse Race track. The property itself was clean and had everything you needed for a staycation. Huge kitchen area for entertaining. Couldn't work out how to get the normal tv channels but had netflix and bbc iplayer. The latter was needed for the Olympic coverage after a hard days sightseeing. No complaints at all from us.
