Terrible experience - not worth the aggravation and way overpriced
We had a very disappointing stay in this apartment in July. Both the apartment and the owner fell far below our expectations, especially given how expensive the place was. For details, read on.
We had been assured by the owner that wonderful cross ventilation made air conditioning unnecessary, but this was definitely not the case in the summer heat. With just one lone air conditioner in a three bedroom house, the place was so unbearable that we had to move our kids to the LAS hotel across town (which BTW was wonderful), as well as shorten our vacation altogether.
In addition the bathrooms left a lot to be desired, with wobbly low-end fittings, and a naked lightbulb hanging from an exposed electrical cable where there should have been a vanity in the master bedroom. The water supply also had very low pressure, so much so that taking showers was a challenge, and appliances like the dishwasher did not function properly.
The owner was completely unsympathetic to our troubles, simply providing us with two more pedestal fans that moved the hot air around, and suggesting that we should spend as much time out of the house as possible! She also refused to provide us with any refund at all, neither any part of the hefty supplemental fees we had paid to have our kids stay there (as the base price for the apartment included only two adults), nor for shortening our stay.
We have stayed at many wonderful VRBOs, including ones that cost much less, as well as ones that cost much more than this rental, so you can trust us when we say based on our experience that this particular rental is not worth anywhere near the price being charged, nor worth the aggravation of dealing with an unsympathetic owner.
