Calabernardo is one of the less known destinations, still authentic, where it is possible to appreciate the beauty and serenity of the place, deeping yourself into the slow life rhythms with the advantage of enjoying an authentic stay in contact with the sea. The location is originally a small fisherman’s village, located 6 kilometers away from the city of Noto, Unesco heritage site in the province of Syracuse. Featured with golden sandy beaches and crystal waters, usually uncrowded, ends in a rocky long bay, a great place for snorkeling. This hidden spot represents the ideal location for those who love the sea and the tranquility. In 2015 opened officially the Sea Museum located next to the local Calabernardo docking. The presence of the ‘Asinaro’ river mouth by the beach, allows to randomly face migratory birds such as: waders, storks, flamingos etc… The Val di Noto District is definitely reach of naturalistic places, art, history and culture that belongs to an older past. The city of Noto was rebuilt in a different area after the earthquake of 1693 which ravaged multiple towns in the southern-east area of Sicily. The medieval area of Noto still exists now days, hosting multiple ruins. These circumstances have led the actual city of Noto becoming worldwide known, to have a unique architectural homogeneity, it is a typical and highly preserved example of Sicilian baroque that also includes the near located cities of Syracuse, Modica, Ragusa and Scicli. Noto is well serviced offering multiple and distinct options to visitors such as: typical restaurants, elegant drink bars, events, walking streets crossing the city with local shops, all active all year long. About 14 Kilometers south from Calabernardo village, there is the stunning Natural reserve of Vendicari Oasis, acres of wildland where is easy to face breathtaking landscapes, dense Mediterranean vegetation that suddenly opens to a crystal clear sea, to very long and golden beaches becoming rocks overhanging a deep sea. Also the known Marzamemi, a picturesque village is only 25 kilometers away from the property. In the south east area of Sicily the climate is Mediterranean along the coasts, with mild, moderately rainy winters and hot, sunny summers. The area is subject to the sirocco, the hot wind from Africa, which can raise the temperature to around 20 °C (68 °F) or above in winter, allowing visitors to enjoy the nice and warm weather beyond the hot and sunny summer.
