With westerly views of the Caribbean Sea, this vibrant home has an Art Deco gable façade and a pristine white-washed aesthetic to the front, with an immaculate private garden.

In keeping with the local style, with jalousie arched windows and shutters, pillared veranda and balcony with lattice-work balustrades, indoor and outdoor living fuse seamlessly. Guests can wander through the delightful arched entries leading to the outdoor areas, and onto the luscious tropical gardens, rich with foliage and vivid plant life and the sounds of the ocean beyond.

This bijou home is finished naturally and gracefully, offering a tone of understated luxury and discreet old-school glamour along with a twist of colonial charm. A comfortable open-plan living space offers flawless comfort, without being formal, whilst the recurrent palette is soft creams and neutrals. Location

Sugar Hill Villa is set on the exclusive “platinum coast,” the glittering West coast of Barbados which is known for its exclusive developments, fine sandy beaches with turquoise waters and colourful, historical towns.

This sumptuous property is located in the Sugar Hill Resort Community where guests have access to a Clubhouse, acclaimed restaurant, two swimming pools, and four championship tennis courts. Tennis stars such as Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki have played on these courts! The beach facility, Fairmont Royal Pavilion, is only a five-minute drive away, whilst the world-class Royal Westmoreland Golf Course is only 1.1 kilometres distance. This is one of the most prestigious corners of the exclusive west coast, whilst being a short distance to local life, trade and traditions.

Speightstown and Holetown, both a few kilometres distance, both offer abundant local flavour.

Holetown demonstrates a vibrant slice of local Bajan life as well as duty-free shopping. The Chattel village is a melting pot of artisans, offering local crafts, art and jewellery. The Chattel houses provide a striking contrast to the colonial residences with their dazzling white coral facades and open verandas; the former are vividly coloured with fancy gables and gingerbread fretwork. The Chattel houses date back to plantation days; the small wooden shacks were designed to be movable, yet this didn’t limit their decorative charm; finished in candy pinks and pistachio greens with pretty shutters and sloping roofs.

Speightstown is also known as “little Bristol” - this town offers evocative local life, fisherman casting their catch on the jetty, a distinctly nautical feel along with street vendors and eclectic dining options.

The island’s capital, Bridgetown is known for its British colonial architecture and historical sites blending with colourful shopping, an abundance of sea-based activities and UNESCO world heritage status.

With twenty-four-hour security and on-hand staff, parents will enjoy a break too.

Barbados offers so much for family travellers. At only 21 miles by 14 miles, with 60 miles of pristine coastline, days at the beach as a family are the centre of a Bajan holiday.

From intriguing caves to mystical gardens, from vibrant street-fare to formal polo matches - genteel cricket matches and colourful street crafts, Barbados offers a unique experience for youngsters which will captivate small imaginations for years to come.

Sugar Hill, on the west coast, offers proximity to some of the most child-friendly beaches. Mullins Beach is a good option for kids with tranquil seas and long sandy stretches for sand-castle building whilst adults will enjoy rum punch from their rented parasols or older kids will indulge in water sports. Folkestone Marine and Visitor Centre in Holetown offers a fantastic museum and beginners snorkelling.

Harrison’s Cave offers a journey beneath the limestone surface that makes up much of the island - a mysterious 30 minute underground guided train trip taking in crystallised formations, intricate streams and awe-inspiring caverns. From collecting shells at the luscious Bathsheba Park to a unique dining expense for the island’s traditional Friday night live music and fresh-off-the-docks flying fish, Barbados offers a vibrant, sensory experience for children.

Barbados offers a mystical experience for youngsters; one of the island’s traditions of swimming horses at dawn will leave exquisite memories for kids to cherish, and wildlife from tortoises to parrots to brocket deer will intrigue youngsters.

For older kids, Bridgetown offers several tours of intriguing shipwrecks, tropical fish and coral formations. Or, a combination of 4x4 jeep tour through the tropical forest followed by a leisurely catamaran trip for a full family day out, finished up with sumptuous buffet at the end of the day.
