We were very disappointed from the moment we arrived. The meter cupboard door was missing, there were weeds growing on the front and step with bricks missing. The hall way floor was dirty and smelled. The stairs were very steep and narrow with paintwork missing. The room itself was clean, as was the bedding. Although there was paint missing from one wall, there was no where to hang clothes as the rail was broken. The bathroom was clean and the shower was great. But there is no obscured glass in the bathroom window (which we think is probably illegal). We had expected a kettle in the room. We used the kitchen once - it was reasonably clean in the surface but when we moved the toaster there was a big pile of breadcrumbs where it hadnât been emptied. The oven was ok but without instructions it was difficult to use. The microwave was actually some sort of combination oven/microwave and again no instructions. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped but there was no bottle opener. We decided to eat outside but the garden area is an absolute disgrace with an old armchair, paint trays and paint rollers dumped. It felt as if it had been loved once but just uncared for for some considerable time. We thought it was little more than a flop house and very poor value for money. I could still smell the stale air on my hair and clothes when I got home.
