We really enjoyed our stay at The Acorn. The cottage was equipped to a high standard. It was spotlessly clean. Chris was welcoming and gave us some good tips of what to do in the area. Hope is a very good area for exploring the Peak District.

Beautiful cottage with quality furniture, bedding, fixtures and fittings. Host was very welcoming and informative. Excellent location within a few minutes walk of the local pub and an extra few mins further into Hope village. Great off street parking, bike storage and lovely outdoor seating area. Would highly recommend and hope to return soon!

Lovely property in an amazing location :-)

This place is lovely and in an absolute perfect location, we love the Peak District and we were very lucky as the weather was amazing fir this time of year. The only thing that stopped me giving this property 5* is that its a late check in at 5pm (would have expected around 3pm) and a very early check out at 9:30am. Normal check outs for such a late check in would be around 10:30am/11am

Its great to hear that you enjoyed your time here on Mead Farm. We love the area and are still finding new spots to explore even with it being nearly ten years since we moved here. Before the covid pandemic we operated the barn with 4 o’clock arrival and 10 o’clock departure times. However, there is now so much deep cleaning and disinfecting to be undertaken between guests that it simply takes longer to prepare the barn. We have been accredited as being covid-secure by Visit England and the AA Covid Confident scheme because of the additional measures we are undertaking and have made it through the pandemic without having had a single covid case. We are incredibly proud of this record of keeping our guests safe so that they can relax and only have to think about enjoying their holiday. Sometimes guests like to gain early access or leave later which is possible if the barn is vacant immediately beforehand or afterwards.

Exklusive ruhige Ferienwohnung

Wir hatten 3 sehr schöne Tage im Acorn. Es ist sehr anspruchsvoll eingerichtet. Nachts ist es sehr ruhig, obwohl es an einer Straße liegt. Chris u Tanja sind sehr freundlich u ermöglichen Sonderwünsche, zB ein Zustellbett, da wir uns einfach nicht an die englischen durchgehenden Matrazen in den Doppelbetten gewöhnen können. Es gibt kurze Wanderungen in Castleton u natürlich längere herrliche übers Land. Total schön!

Lovely stay

Lively stay, the property has everything you could need for a nice break in the high peaks. We were a bit last minute in booking so our direct interaction with the property manager was minimal but we were warmly welcomed upon arrival. The view are excellent from the property and some great walks/hike right on the door step no need to drive. To comfort level in the property is fantastic and the bee is a proper bed …. Unlike the rocks you get in chain hotels. Only bit of critical feed back is to watch out for the door handle latch in the bathroom it sticks out a bit and the space between that and the bed is not a lot and I caught my arm on it a few time which did hurt and left a bruise. But will defo be looking to book in for next year!!

Walking Trails start straight from your Door!

Wonderfully clean and well-equipped property. Perfect for walking in the Peak District National Park straight from the property. You can walk into the village for evening meals (recommend you book as it gets busy).

Acorn Barn

We had a loveley long weekend at Acorn Barn. Cosy and warm with everything we needed including secure bike storage. Fantastic location with lots of options for walks and bike rides right from the doorstep. We will definitely be back!

Lovely 10 days

We had a lovely ten days in this beautiful barn in the wonderful valley of Hope, with great walks on either side of the accommodation. The barn has been beautifully restored and is very well maintained. Chris was very helpful and friendly.

Lovely cottage, great location

Owner Chris met us on arrival, very welcoming and gave us great info regarding walks. Lovely welcome pack and freshly home baked scones - thank you Tanya. Cottage was very comfortable, clean and nicely furnished . Everything we needed. We ate at Old Hall and Cheshire Cheese pub, both very enjoyable. A Wonderful Stay

We just finished spending a week in The Acorn. Upon arrival we met Chris, the owner. He was very friendly and provided a lot of local information on groceries, dining, etc. The Acorn is one of two apartments in the old barn. It was immaculate and cozy. The kitchen was well appointed with a variety of cooking and dining utensils. The apartment was true to the photos on the website. This is definitely 1st class accommodation in the Peak District. If you are visiting the Hope Valley I would absolutely recommend The Acorn!

A comfortable property in an excellent position for walking the dales and exploring the local region

We greatly enjoyed our few days in ‘Acorn’ a comfortable property for the two of us with everything we could need in a home from home. Chris met us on arrival with some of Tanya’s freshly cooked scones, the couple are extremely friendly and helpful. We spent a day walking in the hills around the property, it was a real bonus to be able to leave and return to the barn without any journey to reach our route. But we were also able to explore all the pretty Derbyshire villages and to spend a day in Sheffield within a very short car journey. All in all an excellent property that we can wholeheartedly recommend. We look forward to returning in the future.

5 Star stay in Hope Valley

The Barn is beautiful, stylishly furnished and decorated & very warm and cosy. It's also very peaceful but only a 10 minute walk into Hope Village for pubs, restaurants and a few little shops. The freshly baked bread and warm scones on arrival were a really nice touch and very much enjoyed after a long journey. There are some great walks of varying difficulty directly from the cottage. Plenty of parking and good facilities for washing and hosing down mud covered walking gear. A couple of days we were there were really too wet to walk but it was lovely just to chill out in the really comfortable cottage. Would definitely recommend and I'm sure we'll be back in the future
