‘The Retreat’ is a stylishly-presented two-storey property, located in a quiet cul-de-sac in Falmouth, just a 10-minute walk from the town, its amenities and Swanpool Beach and Nature Reserve.
The property has been run as a successful holiday home for many years and has recently been refurbished to a high standard. It benefits from luxury furnishings, quality bed linen and huge fluffy towels to ensure you have a comfortable stay in this home-from-home, whatever the time of year.
The Retreat’s entrance and private courtyard is accessed from the driveway via a short flight of steps.
To the front of the property, you will find everything you could possibly need in the fully-equipped kitchen to prepare delicious meals at home.
To the rear, a charming sitting/dining room – decorated in a maritime theme – benefits from two electric reclining sofas, a Smart TV, and dining area for romantic dining for 2.
Upstairs plays host to the king-size bedroom which is outfitted with a plush king-size bed, large bedside cabinets, a double wardrobe and comfortable loveseat, perfect for enjoying the views across the valley.
Across the landing, a small dressing room with plenty of natural daylight doubles as a study for laptop-friendly working and leads onto a generous bathroom featuring a separate bath and shower.
The owners live in the adjacent property and are happy to be contacted about the local area to help you get the most out of your stay. However, as both properties benefit from separate entrances, by means of their own private courtyards, guests can rest assured of their privacy.
Falmouth town, home to an abundance of independently owned shops, bars, restaurants, cafes and Falmouth University (Woodlane Campus) is just a short stroll away.
From The Prince of Wales Pier, you can hop on a ferry to explore the spectacular coastal scenery of Carrick Roads and The Roseland Peninsula.
The rest of Falmouth’s main attractions: Gyllyngvase Beach, Pendennis Castle, The National Maritime Museum Cornwall, Falmouth Seafront Promenade and Falmouth Harbour (one of the three deepest natural harbours in the world) are also within comfortable walking distance or jump on the nearby branch line train to reach them within minutes.
Penmere train station also easily connects the property to the University of Exeter's Penryn Campus; the wonderful Capital of Truro; destinations further afield like Penzance, St Ives and Carbis Bay as well as main line services to Exeter St David’s, Bristol Temple Meads, London Paddington and The North.
