Thank you very much and I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay! Yes, the towel rail in the bathroom is hot so that towels are dry and we keep the bathroom warm. We also provide plenty of hot water as you say! I'm not sure what you meant about mugs,glasses and crockery. I have just been to the cottage to check and photographed the kitchen. Four mugs were hanging up as usual, in addition to glasses and cups. There is plenty of crockery and more than enough cutlery - there is enough for about ten people! So perhaps there is a misunderstanding here somewhere? I'll write you separately to ask. Many thanks for the review and I'm very happy that you enjoyed staying in Morrone Cottage!

When you were there, a few devices found the signal weak. We have therefore upgraded and the Wi-Fi signal is now specific to the cottage and is excellent (5 bars). We installed a German Devolo fast router that modulates the signal and sends it along the 240V mains cable to its own separate Wi-Fi sub-router in the cottage where it gives out its own Wi-Fi signal. So there is a very strong signal there! We stayed there ourselves recently and my husband had several international business Skype video calls to make and so I know it's very good. Since last year we have also put in a new cooker, new settee, new carpet upstairs and new wood-burning stove.

Thank you very much for this detailed review, even though it is not as good as the 5* review we received from our guests the week just before you arrived! But to be clear - we DO provide all bed linen and towels and all electricity. Everything is included and there is nothing else to pay. Now let me reply to your points in detail. I am delighted that you enjoyed what you describe as “the many excellent qualities of Morrone Cottage”! Yes, the kitchen has a good new cooker with modern Ceran hot plate and double oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, small fridge, and as you say, there is an additional large fridge-freezer in the large drying room opposite the front door. I’m glad you enjoyed the double height lounge and that you found the WiFi signal “strong, fast and reliable”. The beds are all shown on the photograph in Homeaway. You didn’t contact me at all during your stay to ask about having the extra double bedroom which was available. You did write to say that one glass was missing, one of the high quality Portmeirion dining plates was cracked and that someone had removed the smoke alarm cover. Our manager, Carole replaced the glass immediately and brought you a replacement hair dryer as our normal one had apparently walked. Our electrician installed a brand new hard-wired smoke alarm from stock within hours on the same day. I ordered a new hair dryer the same day and it is already there. Thank you for letting me know about the cracked plate. I have already replaced it with two new ones. So thank you for being fair in writing, “they were provided very quickly when we raised the issue” By the way, I think you have a misunderstanding about the service charge. We make no service charge. What you call the hefty service charge is nothing to do with us. You paid that separately to Homeaway for their service to you. That is the Homeaway charge that they apply to all properties. It is not paid to us. I’m glad you found the dining table fitted you comfortably. As regards price, you paid £21 each per night in August which is almost identical to the price of the equivalent tiny wooden cabins with no garden right beside the busy main road at the entrance to the village. So we think that our high occupancy and this comparison make Morrone Cottage look very reasonable. Dear Bill, Thank you very much. I'm very glad you enjoyed your stay and liked the cottage. Yes, I agree - the Wi-Fi is good with a strong signal. The patio door does lock - it is a modern double-glazed door and you need to raise the white lever as well as turn the key. In reply to your question about fuel, the reason we charge for electricity separately is that small parties in the summer use less than, e.g. a larger number in winter. Different people also have quite different usages. So if we averaged the cost out and added it to the rent, then small parties in summer would subsidize larger parties in winter. So we think it is fairer to charge just for what people use exactly according to the meter readings as you would at home. We just use the meter readings at the beginning and end of your stay and since there is a night storage white meter for both heating and hot water, it is reasonably cheap as you say.
