Beatriz was a wonderful guest to host. Communication was smooth and timely throughout their stay, and they respected the house rules without any issues. Beatriz left the space clean and tidy, which I greatly appreciated. I would happily host her again in the future and highly recommend to other hosts!

Hi Joseph, thanks for sharing your experience with us. We are rather puzzled by some of your observations, most of your concerns could have been addressed swiftly had you let us know earlier. After checking with our cleaning team they told us that you might be referring to some possible miniscule bleach stains; most large laundry companies manage a huge quantities of bed linen and pillow covers, but those tiny stains do not compromise the utmost cleanness of our laundry. Had you let us know we could have replaced them within a couple of hours. Why have you not told us so when we checked with you? Yes, we do provide one set of a large bath towel and hand towel per guest. As per our check in instructions we can provide additional laundry and cleaning for an extra fee but you had not requested such service before your check in. You did happened to request more and even some an extra pillow person that we did provide you straight away without charging you. Regarding the appliance manual instructions there all can be found in the top kitchen drawers - which can be easily found. Our stove is an electrical one, there is no gas running through it that could justify carbon monoxide alarms, however there are fire alarms. "Galp" stand alone "space heaters" which are distribued accross million of homes in Portugal and meet all the national safety regulations are filled with small gas thanks, per se being stand alone devices are not connected to any gas supply, only devices connected to an unlimited gas supply could require the preventive use of carbon monoxide alarms. We could have addressed most of your concerns and ease your mind if you had communicated them to us earlier. When we asked if everything was fine which we always do one after our guests check in, you mentioned everything was fine, so we're surprised to hear about these issues now. Hi Kimjera, thanks for your review. Please read a flat's description carefully before making a booking as if you expect to find a dryer in the flat whereas our listing clearly states that we only provide a washing machine (with a drying function) you are sure to be disappointed not with the flat but with your expectations! We would like to address each point that you have raised in your review: 1. “Beds are hard as rock” - We’ve been hosting for over 3 years now and none of our guests have ever complained about the beds. We are not sure if you had special requirements for the bed, but our beds have never been a problem for any of our past and present guests. The mattress is not hard but rather firm, and firm mattresses are far better for a human being's spine than soft one - that is a proven scientific fact. 2. “One bedroom smelled like smoke” – We apologize for this, but this was out of our control. We have a strict ‘NO SMOKING’ policy in our property as per our flat listing. However, some guests, as did the guests who checked out before your check in, did not respect our house rules. We did our best to let out the smell, but sometimes, it is difficult to get rid of it. However, since there were only 3 members in your family and we have 3 different bedrooms, perhaps you could have used another room instead and avoided the smell. 3. “it had zero amenities” – We provide everything in the flat as listed on the website. Please see the reply below for the items that you have mentioned as not available: (a) “4 little bath towels and 4 hand towels” – We provide 2 sets of towels (one bath towel and one face towel) for each guest. Your group consisted of only 3 persons and we provided you with an extra set. (b) “There is no dryer” – We do not provide a dryer in the flat and you will find this information on the website where you have made the booking. We expect our guests to make informed decision after going through our listing on the website. (c) “propane tanks only worked for part of the stay for heat” – This is incorrect; you were only left out of a full tank for a couple of hours. The change of the tank only happens once a year. However, our excellent housekeeping team was quick to respond to your complaint and went out of her way to arrange the gas filling and the same was provided on the 20th of March, the very next day of your check in. It was a Sunday and very difficult to arrange it, however, we ensured that you received the heating promptly. We have our gas receipts with us as evidence. (d) “In the kitchen, there was only salt and sugar with no other amenities” – This is not true. We provide a fully equipped kitchen and you can find the list on the website. However, we do not provide food items and make no claims of providing these on the website either. We would request you to refrain from the unethical act of writing a false review. (e) “no hand soap in the bathrooms” – Once again, we would like to remind you that we do not provide hand soap as per our listing on the website because from our experience our guests prefer to bring their own skin care products. However, our excellent housekeeping team, especially brought you the hand soap the very next day for your convenience. There s a grocery store next to the building, literally 2 meters away. ;)
