Perfect location for public transport, walking to supermarket and easy straight shot to Ortigia with plenty of eateries close by. We loved the apartment which had everything we needed to cook meals and feel right at home. Marco is a great host. His personal welcome and responsiveness couldn’t be faulted. Making sure we knew how to operate the locks on the doors was a huge help! The price was right and we stayed 10 days at the end of a long European trip for some relaxing. His apartment feels like a home.

Highly Recommend

Marco's place was perfectly suited to a couple wanting to visit Siracusa and surroundings. There was free parking, a supermarket just below the flat, sights within walking distance, and the apartment itself was clean and comfortable. Most importantly Marco was a consummate host, greeting us with a fine bottle of wine, and responding to any concern promptly. It was a delight, thank you. Can't wait to visit Sicily again!

Lovely apartment, great host!

The apartment was perfect for us. Walking distance to everything. It was cozy and had everything we needed. Marco, who is very friendly and courteous, greeted us promptly at the agreed upon time and offered advice on attractions, restaurants, etc., plus a bottle of welcome wine! The bed was very comfortable, and pretty much everything was as advertised in the listing. Our one regret was that we only stayed for two nights - barely enough time to enjoy Siracusa!

Great suite and Sicilian hospitality at it's best.

We were in Italy celebrating my 50th birthday and Marco's graciousness made the event even more special. We arrived to find that he had decorated the apartment with balloons, birthday banner, flowers and a bottle of wine - so thoughtful! The suite is just as advertised - clean, spacious, nicely decorated and has all the conveniences needed. The bed is comfortable as well. The location if perfect. Close enough to walk to all the sites but a little outside of the high traffic areas. I would highly recommend this suite.

Perfect Month!

We had a perfect month's stay in this apartment. Marco is a wonderful person and he is very helpful with anything you could ever need! We enjoyed spending an extended amount of time in Siracusa, swimming in the sea well into November, eating at all of the places Marco recommended, and relaxing in our well equipped apartment. The decor is modern and comfortable, the kitchen set up perfectly for cooking at home, and the apartment's peaceful yet central location can't be beat! It is about 10 minutes walk to Ortigia along Corso Umberto, which is in itself a treasure trove of great food and shopping. Grazie Marco for welcoming us and we will see you again soon!

Home away from home

I think you want a review of the property which was great! As for the city, it leaves a lot to be desired - GARBAGE!!!!, DOG POOP ON THE SIDEWALK, NO PLACE TO WALK OR RIDE A BIKE ONCE YOU ARE OUT OF THE OLD CITY (except one nice bike trail), I was off season, so there was little in information available, my best source was my landlord, and he was great!!!!

Good location, spacious, clean, inexpensive

The location of Lilia's house is ideal to walk from to get to the beautiful, quaint and very historical peninsula of Ortigia at the southern tip of Siracuse. Marco, the owner, is extremely hospitable and takes very good care of his guests. As has already been mentioned in other reviews, Marco provides his guests with the basics - water, wine, milk, coffee, etc. - upon one's arrival, and he checks in with you periodically to make sure all your needs are being satisfied. He even showed me and my partner a special part of the area we would not have discovered on our own - an insider tip! I have rented holiday homes/flats on many occasions in the U.S. and Europe, and I have never experienced such interest and follow-up from an owner before. The apartment has all amenities one needs. I would come back to Lilia's house in a heartbeat and I will recommend it to all friends, family, and acquaintances who are interested in visiting Sicily. I also would like to recommend the area of Siracusa in general - as opposed to the more tourist-frequented area of Taormina, which we visited one day - to anyone who prefers to have a more relaxing holiday with less tourists. Siracusa is not only in and of itself a city worth seeing and spending time at, but it is also a great location to travel from to visit other beautiful areas in the southeastern part of Sicily: the towns of Noto, Modica, Ragusa, Marzamemi, as well as the Nature Reserves Cava Grande, Pantalica, Vendicari - just to name a few. Furthermore, our experiences with all Sicilians in the area were extremely positive. Everyone was very friendly, whether they were able to speak English or not. This holiday has definitely made me want to learn Italian (I know some Spanish, so that was helpful), so that I don't have to be accommodated to and so I can better engage in conversations with the locals, on my next visit to Sicily!

Good apartment and a perfect host

We stayed 4 nights in Lilia`s house from end of April 2016. After a warm and very friendly welcome Marco invited us to a bar. While drinking a Cappucino he gave us a lot of helpful information about the surrounding area (parking, supermarket, take-away ...) and Siracusa. A host like him we did not had before (and we had a lot)! During the stay he makes sure that his guests feel fine and all is okay. We also appreciated his info-book with many additional information and beautiful photos from Marco.

Ce studio est un endroit de rĂȘve pour tout dĂ©placement sans vĂ©hicule car tout peut se faire Ă  pied; A mi-chemin entre Ortygia et le parc archĂ©ologique , la voiture reste dans la rue sans problĂšme, quartier tranquille. A great place to stay!

The apartment is very comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. Marco was a very helpful host and we particularly enjoyed one of his restaurant suggestions. The apartment is in a great location within easy walking distance to Ortigia and the archaeological park. We loved Sicily and Siracusa. Nel monolocale non mancava niente, arredamento moderno e funzionale, letto comodo! La posizione Ăš ottima sia per muoversi a piedi verso Ortigia o la Neapolis sia per spostarsi fuori cittĂ  in auto. Il proprietario e sua moglie gentilissimi e disponibili. Consigliamo assolutamente!
