Wonderful Hosts.

You couldn't have nicer hosts than Betty and Bill. They went out of their way to make our stay great. If you want to know about Music in the area or the best place to buy fresh tomatoes and corn they have it covered. The little cabin is cozy and just across from the lake. Very nice people, hope to come again! Jamie and Harry Los Angeles.

Its especially enjoyable to be good hosts when you have gracious guests. Harry's family is in the vicinity and he is familiar with this upstate area even though he visits now from the West Coast. We are looking forward to being their hosts again.

Betty's Beautiful Bungalow

One of the loveliest places I've ever rented; bountiful birds and garden well tended, and the swimmable lake w beach a short walk away. Gracious, though somewhat garrulous hosts. If you're afraid of bugs , this is not for you.

Lovely guests! Although we spray the boarders of our property to prevent ticks and they also spray the buildings for all bugs in early summer and early fall, it simply is not possible to eliminate or desirable to eliminate all bugs near a lake, streams, lake and lots of trees. We also need pollinators.

Perfectly charming again!

Loved it being as charming as I remembered from 2014. The grounds are lovely with lots of blooming flowers and bushes. They have added a canopy for use of the deck in showers and a new large shower stall with an adjustable shower height. They have man really nice things to use and if you need something special just ask they likely will have it to lend. We hope this bungalow is available our next trip!

Best place ever!

What a wonderful time we had at this cottage in Saratoga Springs! The cottage was cozy and comfortable, with everything we could need or want….the backyard was lovely and perfect for our puppy. Bill and Betty were so friendly and helpful,) with suggestions for places to go and eat, with bringing us fresh picked strawberries….with a wonderful ride on the lake. We had such a wonderful time….can’t wait to go back.

Beautiful Lake Spot

The cottage discription was accurate, The cottage is on the same property as the owners house so if you are seeking privacy, this rental is probably not for you. That being said, Betty and Ed,( owners) were very warm, friendly people. They offered many tips on area activities. Their two dogs came by for daily visits which was most welcome. The dock and chairs were perfect for the morning coffee and newspaper. Sunsets were outstanding. The race track and downtown were a quick drive away. Had a really nice week.

Relative to most properties around the lake, this property is quite private even if not secluded. The bichons do like to say hello to dog friendly people. The bungalow has no houses or cottages to its sides or back....trees mostly and it is normally pretty quiet. It is not readily seen by people passing. Our home is about 60 ft away with occupied rooms facing away from the bungalow. The lake frontage, dock and deck is not secluded as there are other docks about every 75-100 feet. I am happy you had a nice week. Hope to see you again!

Cute cottage - surprisingly spacious

I stayed here with my family of six and we enjoyed the charming cottage. It is small but very well laid out, and well-decorated inside with comfortable beds. It was immaculate, and the kitchen and bath were both well appointed. The location is good -- right across from the lake. I didn't realize the cottage is across the road from Saratoga Lake, but most of the houses on the street are. There is a dock with table and chairs, and hanging chairs. We enjoyed being out on the lake. The owners were kind enough to take our boys out with them on their motorboat (which thrilled them!) and we had fun with the kayak.

Horribly disappointing

While the setting was lovely, the cottage had a pervasive musty smell. Furnishings, window treatments, towels, etc. were old and dirty. Cobwebs hung from ceilings. Water pressure was so low, it was impossible to shower! And the "sandy beach" is dirt with weeds. We checked out 11 days early!

Diane's review is in complete contradiction to the reviews by several recent renters as well as the facts. It is also not consistent with repeat renters opinions. I took photos immediately upon their departure. The only time she made any complaints was upon leaving. Our water pressure does go low in the middle of the night while our water treatment system is back flushing for a period. That time frame is used so as to not interfere with normal activities. We have a lake sand beach, not an ocean beach. Most of our visitors love sitting in the hammock swings or chairs on the wood deck under the tree, or out on the large deck at the end of out dock. It appears to me she fabricated these complaints to try to get a refund upon deciding that it was more fun at home than out and about in the heat. The following was our answer to her for that request. "The website clearly states no refunds on our rentals. You chose to leave early. You did not ask us to fix anything or complain of anything on arrival or while you were here, therefore depriving us of the opportunity to make anything right that you felt may have been wrong. However I have relisted it and if it rents (as it is prime season and we normally stay rented during track season) we can refund the amount we receive (not the full amount the site charges). I am sorry your husband had bronchitis a few weeks ago and still coughing from it, and that we had a miserable heat wave during the beginning of your planned vacation. It’s certainly no fun to be out and about in the mid 90's heat, especially since his goal was going to the thoroughbred race track (which is viewed as the most fabulous in the country). I have authorized the refund for your deposit for damage protection."

Lovely Saratoga Lakeside Getaway

This adorable bungalow on Saratoga Lake was as described on the website and we were very pleased with the accommodations for our week vacation with our teenagers. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking on the lake during the day and the breathtaking sunsets relaxing in the Adirondack chairs on the dock in the evening. The lake is clean, beautiful and so relaxing. The bungalow was clean and well maintained. The owners take great pride in their property and have planted beautiful gardens which we enjoyed on our private deck as we barbecued. The updated bungalow was equipped with everything we needed to cook, however we often took advantage of the many restaurants in downtown Saratoga which is a short 10 minute drive. The owners were available as needed to answer questions and were happy to provide directions and dinner recommendations for many of the local restaurants. We enjoyed horseback riding at a local stable and the NYC Ballet performance at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. The amphitheater was a wonderful venue for an otherwise formal event. I highly recommend this comfortable bungalow. I can't wait to return next summer during the track season!

Nice little bungalow / camp in the backyard.

It is a cozy and quiet spot across the street from the lake. The camp is in the backyard of the owners home but provides ample privacy. The owners are terrific folks. They offered us tickets to the music venue when their friends couldn't make it, pointed us to a couple of decent local restaurants and even invited our teenage son to join their grandkids out on their boat. Internet and cable TV were great (a must for our son). A big plus for the space is allowing us to bring our little dog. The owners have two beautiful white fluffy dogs and like to visit if you leave the sliding door open It is cozy and any more than two adults and two kids will begin to feel cramped. If you like to cook, there is an overabundance of pots, pans and serving pieces with a full size stove as well as a nice gas grill next to the deck. If you like to fish, good size bass are very catchable right off the dock. We had a teenager in tow, but if you have little kids, the shoreline adjacent to the dock would need to be reorganized to allow for young ones to play in the sand (one side is a firepit, the other contains many water toys). All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay again.

Cottage at Ssratoga

We did not stay. When i was putting things away, i started noticing how dirty things were. The cottage smelled because it hD not been opened to air out. Refrigerator door shelves were not clean, microwave needed to be wiped out. Mouse dropping is kitchen drawer. Black mold on one bedroom ceiling, both bedrooms had nasty cobwebs that had been there a long time and the last straw was dog hair on the bedding that obviously had not been laundered. I had driven 12 hours to get there so i was tired. By the time i bought groceries and got dinner, it was 11pm. So we packed up a d went to a hotel. Couldn't sleep well so at 5am EDT, I finally was able to find a number for your customer service. I talked to a gentleman in Cairo, Egypt. He was nice and helpful and i gave him a favorable review. He explained i should have confronted the owner. No way could she have the place cleaned for our short visit. I did email him a few photos i had taken. I have been in touch with my credit card company to dispute the charges for the cottage. She says she does not have to give back my money because we found other accomidations. I did purchase your insurance and i will be contacting them tomorrow when i get home. I have rented through Vrbo the past 2 years without any issues and clean accomidations. Very disappointed things did not work out. We were really looking forward to being on the lake in our old neighborhood

When Veronica Aurelio notified me they had left due to her various allegations, I immediately checked the bungalow. We had been up very late, so they had ample time to object before abruptly leaving with all their things except their dirt and crumbs. The glass top stove had been carefully cleaned. They left the bed unmade but it had been made with fresh linens straight from the dryer, so any crumbs had to have been theirs. I did not see any hair on the bedding and applied wide packaging tape on the bedspread and blanket to look for hair. The tape did not get hair stuck to it. The quilt is navy and white triangles and squares and had been washed. Property and houses are sprayed for various bugs (primarily to prevent/limit ticks) but a TINY cobweb did appear in only one ceiling corner and there was no spider present. No “wads of cobwebs” nor “old nasty cobwebs” were present as alleged. The bungalow did not smell of anything. Someone with allergies could have a reaction as there are dense woods east of the bungalow and we have had a rainy season. Roof and the drywall on the ceiling were checked for leaks that would indicate any water/leakage problems. None were found. I had very recently taken down closet curtain (which is up to the ceiling) to wash and reinstalled it 6 inches from their alleged black mold area and I would have seen it. There was something light grey there after they left which was easily wiped off. This was not mold of any kind and the gray did not make and still does not make any logical sense. Nothing had been there prior to their arrival and nothing has reappeared since. We have had a lot of rain since and nothing has appeared on our drywall since their departure. Everything had been washed and cleaned upon opening our bungalow for the season. It had been used prior to their coming in without complaints other than the weather was rainy. It was cleaned before their arrival. Shelves, drawers, counters, fans, ac, floors, cabinets, stoves, windows, bathroom, and deck were all cleaned. I thought SINCE he discussed his poor health in much detail including his serious lung problems (after entering the unit), that he might have HAD some reaction due to the weather or something and they decided to come up with all the allegations and exaggerations to get a refund. FYI my site indicates we are pet friendly, and they never once asked if a pet had recently been staying there. There was a dog staying previously this season.

DISGUSTING! THIS NEEDS TO BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY

All negative reviews have been replied with denial. Maybe at one point this was a nice place. Please take this opportunity to remove yourself from being a host. If you don't want to pay for professional cleaning and updating then do not list this as a viable option for anyone to stay and stop taking people's money! VRBO has been notified and flags this as having health and safety issues. UNSAFE AND DISGUSTING. SMELLS LIKE ROTTING ANIMALS - DEAD ROTTING RAT FOUND IN BATHROOM. No possible way it is cleaned correctly or between renters. BEWARE! This listing is INACCURATE in many ways. There is not even an accessible waterfront, Everything is so incredibly and obnoxiously overgrown you can't even access it and DEFINITELY not a beach. Just a dock for boats you can't use. On the waterfront? Not even a view, it is literally behind the owners house, which you have to walk past and down the driveway and across the street to get to the weed infested dock area that my kids could not even swim in. Playground?!? No way. An old breaking plywood structure with a slide. Completely inaccessible, infested with weeds. Everything is extremely old and run down. Kitchen faucet just pulses water. No window shades in kitchen and bathroom. No privacy after dark. No venting fan in bathroom. Shower leaked all over and hit directly on the wall. Furniture feels gross and must never be moved for cleaning. No lock or key was offered at check in.

I have just found the review she gave on us in VRBO. I had not seen it previously. Nothing has deteriorated as claimed in Christine's the renter's reviews in or around the bungalow. I have been told many times and recently I have great kitchen supplies in this bungalow and beautiful grounds around it. There are no rotting smells and never a RAT. It is cleaned before and after every renter. This summer has had the worst weather ever. It has either been too hot to go out safely, too rainy (at least not drought), or windy all making nature hard to keep up with particularly on the beach. However, there is/was a wood deck area on the beach with Adirondack chairs, a hammock and two swings and a dock leading to a brand new 12 x16 ceder deck on an aluminum frame with 3 lime green (new) Adirondack chairs, a very nice umbrella in a table that the terrible wind blew over just before you came and had to be rescued and was to be remounted the day you arrived. That is the first time/year that table ever blew over and immediately recovered to serve guests. My garden plants went over for the first time ever as well. I have never said the bungalow was on the water. It is a short walk to the beach and the lake can be seen from the living room windows, yard and from the bungalows deck as well, even if not a 360. Many renters also love going out on the deck over the water to enjoy the evening breezes and the sunset's 360 views. The windows have curtains and no one except the birds can see in those rooms. Actually the living room had brand new shades and the 2 bedrooms have very nice wood VB shades. The shower is on a slide for various heights of people and adjusts and aims where you point it or you can unhook it and hold it close to various locations. I don't advertise a playground and the slide was only for very small children of which no small children have been included in any reservations for some time. Christine did not even reserve for 2 children of any age but only for 2 adults. There is a combination lock at the door if anyone desires to use it. We are fenced and in a safe area. There is a very nice new aluminum ladder on the new dock to access into the natural lake. We do not advertise having a pool but a lake. It is a natural lake with fish and weed growth. I am sorry her children expected pool conditions during an unusally hot horrible wet windy summer. This is not advertised as a 5 star resort with all those services anywhere. This is a comfortable bungalow upstate style with internet, TV, and AC.

Thank you. Sorry about the road. It gives us good access to all shopping and events. We do not have steep inclines and many stairs down a cliff as numerous rentals and places on this lake have. We also get the late afternoon and sun set on this side of the lake and not thick shade as many on the West side get. The sunsets are wonderful from our beach deck and the lake dock most of the time. The speed limit is observed and almost all cars stop for anyone crossing the road. While there are houses on the other side of this road, most of those few rentals have minimal yard, down a cliff, minimal parking and/or are MUCH pricier. We have guite a lot of yard in this location for fun and games. Sorry we had so much rain during your visit. It has been strange weather this year. Have a great winter.

For the wide variety of activities in area and for the lake activities . Quiet and picturesque. Guests love our sunsets at the beach and the dock. WiFi Internet when you sign in the password. A peaceful setting with trees, flowers and sunsets. Should you want tickets for concerts at SPAC, we often can get them as members. The earlier requested the better chance at popular events, preferably as event is announced or soon after. Very close parking at SPAC might be also be available. We can update availability per event after inquiring. . We are located on the shores of Saratoga Lake.

Just short drive from Saratoga Race Track and/or all the splendor of downtown Saratoga! Great restaurants.

Spend your day soaking up the sun on the dock, kayaking or paddle boarding around the lake, touring beautiful Saratoga Springs, spending a day at the Saratoga Horse Shows or Saratoga Race track.

Our rental includes spectacular sunsets that you do not want to miss!

Take a hike or a stroll through several different parks around the area or play a few rounds of golf. There is something for everyone all within a five minute drive. Remember the Battle of Saratoga was the turning point of the American Revolition!!!
