Vintage Family Barn Conversion near Faringdon

Punch Barn is a light and spacious self catering holiday cottage near Faringdon which has been sensitively converted, retaining much of the character and charm of the original building. Arranged over 2 floors, the barn provides luxurious accommodation for 4 guests in 2 comfortable bedrooms. Part of the Goodlake Barns complex, there is a large communal courtyard and plenty of parking available on site. The market town of Faringdon is only 3 miles away which offers a range of amenities and there is a wide range of nearby places to visit including Blenheim Palace, Oxford, the Cotswolds and the iconic Uffington White Horse. There is a central hub which is a flexible space and can be hired for dinner or meetings depending on your groups needs. The hub is big enough to seat everyone together if booking more than one barn. Please note that the hub is only available on request.

If you are looking for a large group booking for more than 4 guests, perhaps for a family or friends gathering, then please consider the entire Goodlake Barns complex.

You will find plenty of walks in the area including climbing up to the Uffington White Horse, with both the Cotswolds and North Wessex Downs Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty within easy reach of Goodlake Barns.

The maximum occupancy for this property is 4 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 2 additional infants (aged 2 or under)

Punch barn New Year

We stayed at Punch Barn cottage over the New Year and had a fabulous week away. It’s a lovely, well kept cottage, and a good location for visiting nearby towns such as Cirencester and Oxford as well as Bourton on the Water - we will be back soon.

Great stay!

Great little getaway.

We booked Punch Barn less that 5 days before we arrived. We loved the look of the pictures and the barn itself was reflective of that. Cozy, clean and just as we had imagined. It was the perfect base for our stay.

Amazing Place to Stay

We had a wonderful time staying at Punch Barn. The location was great, the facilities were lovely, and my entire family had a great time. The beds were heavenly - and we had a blast in the living room watching movies, having some pizza, etc. The kitchen was great, had all the items we needed and we made some pizza for dinner. Amazing how much money we saved by making our own breakfast and dinner and not having to go out. It was perfect. We used the washer (worked perfectly) and the shower had great water pressure. My family wanted to stay longer before we headed into London, then compared everywhere we stayed to this place. Punch Barn won every comparison. Would stay here again, and highly recommend.

Early autumn break in South Oxfordshire

We enjoyed a relaxing 4night break in Punch Barn, a converted barn/stable complex on a working farm. It's situated in a quiet, pretty hamlet, which has no amenities, so you'll need a car to explore the surrounding area and to eat out. Good quality furnishings and fittings and everything we needed to enjoy our 4 night break away. The kitchen area could benefit from some additional task lighting and the black bin bag collection area needs better signposting, but these are minor issues which did not detract from a very pleasant stay. Shelley was most helpful and friendly and we would love to come and stay again.

A fab trip with a super place to stay

We were looking for accommodation near Highworth and Punch Barn was very convenient. Though there are no local amenities in walking distance, all you needed was less than a 10 Minute drive away in Farringdon. Communication was very prompt and excellent - all the info needed was provided before asking and we found our way and got into the place very easily. The interior is finished to a very high standard and extra things like dishwasher tablets and washing detergent were also provided. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom very new and there was plenty of space to relax. It was very central to all the places we wanted to visit in the Cotswolds. We would definitely look it up again if we were to come back to the same area.

A spacious comfortable cottage

Only drawback was a fan noise that was very loud at night, particularly in twin bedded room. Sounded like a mighty storm enough to keep occupants awake. We couldn’t find out what or where it came from. Otherwise all good.

A week of much needed tlc

My sister had stayed in Punch before, so when a family member needed us close by it was the perfect property to feel relaxed and happy in. Light, airy, well equipped and in a beautiful hamlet with plenty of walking nearby, which was lovely in early mornings. Everything you need and huge bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Home from home but with a hint of luxury.

We were very comfortable at Punch Barn and would stay there again. Nicely spacious, but warm and cosy. However, we feel the preparation could have been better: 1. Ceiling light not working - a common weakness 2. Not sufficient cutlery and kitchen items (e.g. no small sharp knives), but plenty of crockery and glasses - another common weakness 3. Grill pan needed cleaning - not very common these days 4. Damp smell from one of the settees - Hmmm 5. Outdoor light on the blink Not major issues, just irritants that could be easily rectified (except perhaps 4). We felt it was at the upper end of "reasonably priced".

A Londg Weekend at Goodlake Barns

We rented the whole property to entertain family and friends for our daughter's wedding. A perfect venue for this sort of gathering, with cooking facilities to make catering for 28 as easy as it could be, and a communal room big enough to seat us all for meals in comfort. Ideal for groups

We stayed here for a group get together with others staying in the other barns. This worked very well and there is a lovely courtyard area to look out on or gather together. Punch was comfortable, loved the under floor heating and comfy bed. Shame there wasn't an option given for second bedroom to be a double. Nice quiet location in a very pretty village. Negatives were that the plug was missing from bathroom sink and freezer was all iced up, whilst these are relatively minor things it should never happen for a property marketed as luxury.
