Sorry to hear your discontent about the pool on Saturday after you had vacated the unit and requested a refund. I personally spoke with other owners and none of them were giving refunds. Unfortunately, as I mentioned to you, we were advised by VACASA, manager of the property, that a lightning struck the pump pool motor and it wasn’t safe. With respect to the cleanliness of the unit, if I would have known that when you arrived, I could have called the cleaning service and asked them to redo the unit. They are not perfect, but it’s the first time I have had a complaint on this matter. Regarding the utensils and glassware, we haven’t had any issues with 10 glasses and the usual utensils, especially for a family of 4 like your party was, but I will review the issue and if needed, we will buy more. The other kitchen accessories that you mentioned, they tend to disappear or get lost. Nevertheless, if we had known all those issues at your arrival, we would have ensured to get them over to you, either by the maintenance crew or by shipping them over. As we always end on our welcome email “If you need anything else, please do not hesitate to text or call me at ….”. Lastly, we have had no complaints at all in the past with the closets and various shelves therein as all previous guests have considered them more than enough, but will review the matter.

This review doesn’t seem to be about assessing a property, but feels like a “getting even” post. If I would feel like these points had any weight, I would make the changes immediately. Customer satisfaction is incredibly important to me. However, what was raised here, although always listened to, does not seem fair. Here’s a detail explanation. The board has been trying to implement a new security system, where guests have to wear a wristband with a chip to enter the property. We paid for 6 wristbands and tell our guests that they must return the same 6 wristbands and that the cost for each lost band is $50 dollars. This guest lost one of the bands, and I had to charge her for it. Please remember that guests are told in advance about the wristbands and that the owners can’t be liable for a potential $300 in lost wristbands every time there’s a new guest. This guest also claims the patio furniture was not adequate; the first complaint we receive on this. Patio furniture usually comes with 4 chairs, I am truly sorry about the fifth person in her group, but she could have used one of the beach chairs, complementary for our guests. With respect to the dryer, the previous guests hadn’t complained about it, but when she raised a complaint on the fourth of July weekend, I immediately called for service and the repairman came on the first working day that week (Tuesday 5th), and fixed the problem. With respect to the supposedly dishwasher broken bottom shelf; no previous guest has ever complained about it, neither did she when she was a guest, despite the obligation on the Rental Agreement to give notice on any problem that a guest may encounter. On the beach towels issue, we state in the description that we do not provide beach and pool towels, as most, if not all of the other units. Lastly, the hair dryer issue. We have purchased 2 or 3 hair dryers before, but just as the wristband that her party lost, when asked what happened to the hair dryers, guests are sometimes bothered, and so we don’t provide them anymore. But again, they are not listed in the description, so guests should not be surprised about it. All in all, it’s upsetting to be given a bad review when we hold our guests to the highest regard while still aiming to run our family business smoothly. We hope that this all makes sense and that you continue to consider our apartment for your future vacations!
