Fantastische 2-Bett-Scheune Umwandlung in der Nähe von Sherborne,

Meadow View Barn und The Shippens wurden 2007 umgebaut, um eine moderne, entspannende Umgebung zu schaffen, die den Charakter der ursprünglichen Struktur beibehält. Die Scheunen befinden sich in Over Compton, einem ruhigen Dorf, etwa 4,8 km von Sherborne entfernt. Hier finden Sie eine wunderschöne Kathedrale, alte Straßen, einzelne Geschäfte und Restaurants. Nur einen kurzen Spaziergang von den Scheunen entfernt befindet sich ein fantastisches Geschäft mit Gourmetküche und Wein für Mitglieder. Die lokale Dorfkneipe ist nur 800 m entfernt. Es gibt ein preisgekröntes Pub / Restaurant (The Rose und Crown Trent) im angrenzenden Dorf.
Die Scheunen sind ideal gelegen, um Dorset im Landesinneren oder an der Küste, die nur eine kurze Autofahrt entfernt liegt, zu erkunden. Es gibt eine lokale Zugverbindung zur Küste von Bath oder Weymouth.

Die Meadow View Barn bietet Platz für bis zu 5 Personen in 2 Schlafzimmern mit einem großen offenen Wohnbereich. Das Shippens ist ein größeres Anwesen mit 3 Schlafzimmern und einem eigenen Bad zum Hauptschlafzimmer mit Platz für bis zu 7 Personen. Die Scheunen können zusammen für insgesamt 12 Betten gemietet werden.

Wir haben die Scheunen zu einem hohen Standard mit hochwertigen Möbeln und Bettwäsche eingerichtet. Die Küchen sind gut mit hochwertigen Geräten ausgestattet. Wir heißen Familien jeden Alters willkommen und bieten auf Anfrage Reisebetten, Hochstühle und Treppen an. Die Preise beinhalten Strom, WLAN, Bettwäsche aus 100% Baumwolle und einen Willkommenskorb. Es gibt 40 "SMART-Fernseher, Wii-Spielekonsole und Superfast WiFi.

Die Scheunen sind nach Süden ausgerichtet und haben einen Schotterhof und Gärten, die den ganzen Tag und bis in den Abend hinein Sonnenschein bekommen. Auf der Terrasse stehen ein Tisch und Stühle, auf denen Sie abends wunderbar entspannen und den Holzkohlegrill nutzen können. Die Gärten haben einen kleinen Lattenzaun mit einem sicheren Einrasttor. Für jedes Grundstück gibt es einen eigenen Stellplatz (The Shippens verfügt über zwei Stellplätze).

Super Property

Einfach nur perfekt!!!

Das war die beste Ferienwohnung die wir jemals gebucht haben. Da gibt es nichts zu beanstanden. Die Küche ist perfekt ausgerüstet, Wohnzimmer mit nagelneuem Fernseher, DVD Player und einer WII mit Spielen. Alles perfekt sauber und genug Platz für 2 Erwachsene und 3 Kinder. Idealer Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge (Stonehenge, Südküste, Bath, Cornwall,.....) Toll wäre es, wenn sich mehr Vermieter an diesem Objekt ein Beispiel nehmen würden.

Staycation

The quality of the barn was exceptional, everything that was needed was provided. Ian and Alison provided simple and accurate information prior to booking, when making the booking right up to arrival. The only negative I would raise is that everywhere needs a car to get there. There were no shops within walking distance and the local pub, although only a 10 minute walk away never opened. However this did not impact greatly on our stay and would strongly recommend the Rose and Crown, which is a short drive away, for lunch, dinner or just sitting in the excellently maintained garden and having a couple of cold pints. What an exceptional view! Also Sherborne is nearby and is a perfect spot for a stroll.

Well equipped cottage and comfortable stay

Very comfortable and peaceful place to stay in Over Compton. The property was clean and tidy when we arrived, and we kept finding more things that had been provided! An airer under the bed, a washing line outside, plenty of kitchen items, etc. A nice firm, large double bed and good internet speed.

Lovely family holiday

The barn was great - warm, spacious, well-equipped, spotlessly clean. The location was perfect for trips to nearby villages (but the barn is so nice, you may not want to venture out too much). We had a great time on our first holiday with our three month old baby and would definitely return.

Well equipped, super comfy and well located

A long journey away from home with a baby can be tricky but arriving at Meadow View Barn was an absolute pleasure. The owners had set the smart new high chair and travel cot up for us in this spacious and extremely well equipped holiday home. They had even provided a few thoughtful essentials. Lovely and clean with lots of hot water and very comfy beds - all much appreciated after long busy days exploring all the fun things to do in this gorgeous area! A lot of thought and care has gone into this holiday let making it very easy to enjoy. We hope to return again sometime and would highly recommend to families.

Beautiful barn conversion in a lovely quiet area

On arrival we were immediately impressed with the condition and cleanliness of the barn. Everything was as described and the welcome basket was a welcome touch especially after our long drive down from Scotland. The location of the barn is in a lovely quiet town with a pub and delicatessen nearby. The main shops for food etc can be found in either Sherbourne or Yeovil just a short drive away. One thing to note is the country road that links the main carriage way between Yeovil to Sherbourne to the barn is single lane in places with limited visibility so take care. Our kids are aged 15, 10 and 9 and our holiday plan was to be based at a peaceful location within an hours drive of the attractions we wanted to visit (Sherborne, Lulworth cove, Weymouth, West Bay, the Swanage Railway and the Bovington tank museum to name a few!) and this is exactly what we got. Overall we had a lovely holiday in Dorset and would recommend this property to anyone looking to explore Dorset and beyond. Derek Dodds.

Outstanding property, spotlessly clean, equipped with absolutely everything, lovely quiet location.

Property easy to find, totally exceeded expectations , beautifully decorated and furnished everything was like new it was spotless. Very well equipped . The owners in my opinion had thought of absolutley everything for adults and children . Something as simple as an umbrella was provided which we did actually need . We were left milk , juice , wine , biscuits , tea , coffee and other cupboard essentials as well as plenty of kitchen and bathroom cleaning materials. The location was exactly as described, lovely quiet and peaceful. It was lovely to come back to after a long day out . The deli within a short walk of the barn was amazing we loved the array of gorgeous food on offer and actually ate in most evenings on food we bought there. Fab place to stay highly recommended if u want peace and quiet . Owners communication was great and very friendly . On our stay we travelled around Dorset , visited countless lovely villages around the towns Of Sherborne , Beaminster, Bridport, West Bay, Lyme Regis, Weymouth, Corfe Castle, Dorchester, , Lulworth Cove, and on the way home Wimborne Minister. Beautiful county, and a very enjoyable stay. This property is near the Somerset border and although we did not venture there it is well placed to visit both counties.

Highly recommended!

We enjoyed a very relaxing spring break at the Barn. The village of Over Compton is a great base whether your preference is for coastal walks along the jurassic coast line, soaking in the sights and history of some great British towns or simply exploring pretty neighbouring villages. The Barn is equipped to a very high standard and has everything you could possible need for a comfortable and relaxing holiday, (we had typically British weather, so unfortunately didn't get to use the Weber Barbecue). Alison and Ian obviously take great pride in ensuring their guest have a great experience. Highly recommended!

The barn is lovely. Cosy and decorated beautifully.

We had a lovely stay at Meadow View Barn. The owners had thought of everything that we might need - from plasters, to maps and details of local attractions, to games and DVDs for the children. The accommodation was very comfortable with lots of attention to detail. We soon made ourselves at home and had a very relaxing time.

Home from home at Meadow View Barn

Just returned from a 4 day stay in this superb barn. Perfectly located to enjoy many attractions and seaside locations. On arrival we were greeted with a wonderful welcome box of goodies after a long drive. This beautiful holiday let is a complete home from home. Spacious open plan downstairs area together with comfortable bedrooms able to sleep 5 was great for myself and my 2 girls. With plenty of information on site about the local area and things to do in nearby towns we had plenty of options. Loved Wookey Hole in nearby Wells, Weymouth and Lyme Regis too. We would absolutely recommend this property.

Quaint & Well Equipped

We stayed at Meadow View Barn while visiting family over Christmas and it was sensational we couldn't have been happier the presentation on entering the barn was immaculate, so clean and modern and very cosy we were a little concerned that being a barn conversion we may hear the neighbours but that wasn't the case at all it was very private and quiet. When we arrived the a tree had been put up for the Christmas period which was a lovely touch and there was also a welcome hamper, a lovely bottle of bubbly some scrummy biscuits and crisps which was also a very nice touch & made us feel right at home. The barn itself is so well equipped with everything you could need, seriously they have thought of everything & additional linen if required. The area the barn is located in is within walking distance to a village & a short drive to towns. We would certainly stay again as it was just great!! Thanks Ian & Alison.

Amazing Stay in Stunning Barn

This barn is in such a lovely location among country lanes but only a very short distance from the amazing village of Sherbourne which I would highly recommend visiting. The barn has everything you could wish for and level of cleanliness is second to none. It feels a real home from home with all the comforts needed. I am definitely going to be visiting again next year.

Everything we needed

We had a lovely time at Meadow View Barn. It had everything we needed and is in such a lovely quiet tranquil village with Sherborne only 5 minutes away. Our 2 year old loved the barn and has never slept so well! The barn was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The added extras of a stair gate and travel cot were great. A great location to explore Somerset and Dorset, everywhere we wanted to go was within an hours drive. A walk through the grounds of Compton House is a must as the scenery is beautiful. We would definitely recommend this place to other families with young children and couples.

Gorgeous modern barn conversion

The barn is one of the nicest holiday rentals we have stayed in. Every detail had been thought of and the accommodation was clean, modern and of a very high standard. We have an 11 month old daughter and the barn was perfect for us as everything we needed was included, and with the ground floor being open plan it was great for parents with young children. The resident peacocks kept her entertained with their dinner time appearance in the garden-an added bonus! I recommend this property highly and you will not be disappointed.

A home away from home

We spent 5 fantastic days in this lovely barn. A great location, not to far away from a great pub with fabulous garden and near to the lovely town of Sherborne as well as many of the beautiful Dorset and Somerset villages which we enjoyed exploring. The barn has everything in it to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable and Wi-Fi was an added bonus. Everything was clean and we felt very at home - just wish we could have stayed longer. The owners were very helpful and answered any questions I had before our stay very promptly.

We live in Milton Keynes but like to spend time in Dorset having grown up in the area. We have stayed in many holiday homes and wanted to ensure that we offer the best quality for our guests.

We love to explore Dorset and found that this area offered us the perfect base to explore both coast and countryside. The nearest Beaches are Westbay and Weymouth, both around 25 miles. The ancient town of Sherborne has an amazing high street with many independent shops, great architecture and a fantastic abbey.

Our children love some of the local attractions including: The Fleet Air arm museum, Haynes motor museum, Longleat, Monkey World, Wookey Hole and many more.

The barn includes membership of a members only food and wine store, just a short walk through the grounds of Compton House which was once a silk farm that produced the silk for Princess Diana's wedding dress. The food store offers food and wine tasting events at various times during the year. They stock a fantastic selection of wine, cheese and meat along with home made ready meals and gifts.
