Ein charmantes altes Bauernhaus in einem Weiler, perfekt gelegen, um diesen wenig bekannten Teil Frankreichs zu erkunden und alles, was es zu bieten hat!Das Haus verfügt über zwei Schlafzimmer, eines davon ein geräumiges und helles Doppelzimmer, mit Bettdach, handbemalten Möbeln, schönen alten Balken und Blick auf den Weiler und die umliegende Landschaft. Das zweite Schlafzimmer ist ein Zweibettzimmer, aber leicht zu einem Doppelzimmer zu konfigurieren. Wieder ein heller und luftiger Raum mit schönen alten Balken und Blick auf die Landschaft. Im Obergeschoss finden Sie den großen Duschraum mit Multi-Jet-Dusche, elektrischem Handtuchhalter, beleuchtetem Waschbeckenschrank mit Unmengen an Stauraum und WC.

Im Erdgeschoss finden Sie die Küche und das Wohnzimmer mit Essbereich.

Das Cottage verfügt über eine charmante handbemalte Küche mit allen modernen Annehmlichkeiten, um Ihren Urlaub so einfach wie möglich zu gestalten. Sie finden einen Geschirrspüler, einen Elektroherd und einen Backofen, einen Kühlschrank mit Gefrierfach, eine Mikrowelle und alle Töpfe, Pfannen, Utensilien, Geschirr und Gläser, die Sie sich zum Kochen eines Sturms wünschen können! Es gibt auch Zugang zu einer Waschmaschine in der Waschküche.

Die helle und geräumige Lounge verfügt über einen alten Charentaise-Kamin. Ausgestattet mit einem Holzofen, mit Brennholz (kostenlos). Auf den beiden bequemen Sofas gibt es ausreichend Sitzgelegenheiten. Zu Ihrer Unterhaltung bieten wir Satellitenfernsehen (kostenlos auf britischen und französischen / europäischen Kanälen), einen DVD-Player und eine Conrad Ipod-Dockingstation. Es gibt Internet / WiFi, so dass Sie Musik von Ihren eigenen Geräten streamen können. Darüber hinaus stehen Ihnen Bücher, Spiele und DVDs zur Verfügung. Indescribably brilliant

Our stay at Bois Mort exceeded all expectations and Maison Maurice was the perfect place for a much-needed lazy holiday, surrounded by farmland and wildflower meadows. We loved the charming little house equipped with everything we needed, with two private terraces and easy access to the amazing new pool. Most of all, Richard is an exceptional host and chef - and great company, too. We’ll definitely return, we absolutely loved everything about it. Thank you, Richard!

Looking forward to next year already

Our Gite was very cute and the attention to detail is wonderful, we had everything we needed for our family holiday and more. The more included our own little veggie patch, fresh home grown/made produce from the little shop and a delicious meal cooked by owner Richard who is the kindest host. There's loads to see and do in the region if you do a little research and at the end of the day, the highlight of the holiday for our 8year old, the swimming pool in the garden. We can't wait to come back for a third time next year.

Fantastic Bois Mort Farm!

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Bois Mort Farm. You can see from the entire accommodation that the host Richard has an eye for detail and you can see and feel this in everything during your stay. The gite is very tastefully decorated, clean and has lovely beds. We stayed in Maison Maurice, which is suitable for 4 people. With a private terrace at both the front and back, equipped with parasol and beautiful and comfortable garden furniture. Richard cooked delicious meals for us several evenings and around the lovely pool, with luxurious sun beds, we did not lack anything. It is a beautiful and peaceful setting and there are also very nice activities in the area. It was a lovely holiday and we would love to come back again!

Tranquil hideaway in rural France

The gîte was just as described, but the pictures don’t do it justice, it’s much better. From the moment you drive to the lane in to Bois Mort you know this is going to be a great place to stay. The cottage is perfectly decorated and furnished, with everything you could ever need, from pots and pans to baby monitors, it’s there. Richard even has a small ‘shop’ full of the essentials plus food, treats and games. On arrival Richard met us with his warm Scots welcome and walked us around, the veg gardens, barn with seating, pool, hot tub and much more. Richard is a great host and nothing is too much trouble, the charcuterie platter he prepared for us after a days travelling was perfect all washed down with his local Rosé from the welcome hamper. During our stay France had a bit of a heatwave, and whilst cooling off in the pool one afternoon, Richard unprompted brought each of us chilled wine - perfect. The setting is a perfect getaway, quiet and set in the beautiful French countryside. The flowers around the gîte are a magnet for butterflies, bees and the amazing Hummingbird moth. There are numerous walks down the local lanes between the fields with always somewhere new to explore. No matter where you go there are Châteaus, churches, villages, markets to see. We had a great day visit to Samur whose Château dates back to 892. Plus the abundance of wineries there offer a perfect opportunity to taste and learn about the local still and sparking wines with prices much better than the UK. An amazing and special holiday, thank you Richard.

Bois Mort : Outstanding gite .... outstanding host.

Simply outstanding by far the best gite we have stayed in and we have stayed in over 20 across France. Our host Richard made our stay so good. Outstanding host. Tranquil and scenic surroundings. So peaceful and just what we wanted. Added to that the on site chef made going out for a meal extra special. The little on ate extra pool, hit tub, salads & charcuterie also enriched our experience.

peace and tranquility

My husband and I stayed at maison maurice a couple of weeks ago, the cottage is clean, has everything you need, a fantastically comfortable bed and a lovely shower room. I am in the hospitality industry and feel that most people need the accommodation clean and a good night's sleep, maison maurice ticked these boxes. We also had the use of a hot tub and an above ground swimming pool which was lovely. Richard is warm, welcoming and hospitable, the home made veg and fresh eggs and bread were wonderful.Richard recommended a visit to Oradur sur glane, it took approx 2 hrs to get there but roads are good and it is well worth it. Everthing you could ask for and a bit more, i think you wil be seeing us again Richard .

Everything you need and more..stylish and very comfortable .

Accurately described, located in the very quiet hamlet of Bois Mort. Saint Loup, a few minutes drive away has shops and a market. The `Maison du Maurice` gite, was very clean, tidy and tastefully furnished throughout.The location is very quiet and rural. The pool was a great bonus. Richard,the owner, was very friendly and helpful, giving us lots of advice and local information. He also provides a range of excellent home made and local produce like jams and meats. Authentically traditional with all modern facilities

Our overall impression of Maison du Maurice is as a authentically traditional home, in such a pretty hamlet providing all modern day facilities for folks on holiday. The properties and gardens cared for by the owner,Richard, can only be described as beautifully landscaped and lovingly tended. Richard is the perfect host which he achieves by mixing perfectly ,being in the background of your holiday day to day, changing to being immediately available when needed, this for example to give information and recommendation on the area, places of interest, etc. A brilliant balancing act. We used the dining option provided by Richard which we found comparable with high quality restaurants providing us with menus filled with local produce. Richards food was delicious. Masterpiece of a holiday

We had the most memorable stay at A Bois Mort and were truly sad to leave! Owner Richard was incredibly generous with his time, knowledge and attention to detail and made an exceptional addition to our holiday. The gite was bright, airy and spotless and as a passionate cook i was impressed with the comprehensiveness of the kitchen and equipment! Having said that, with the standard of Richards cooking we were more inclined to dine at his own, "Petite Cuisine" as often as possible! Delicious locally sourced produce, homemade with provenance, tradition and sustainability at its heart. We were free to use the gites back garden/terrace and roam the wonderful vegetable garden and fruiting trees which was yet another reflection of the owners passion and attention to detail. We had a 6 month old baby with us also and we were provided with a travel cot which was hugely helpful as they are cumbersome in an already packed car, as well as the option of a bottle steriliser! He really has thought of everything... down to the log burning hot tub! The gite is full of information on the region and Richard provided us with a wealth of experience and knowledge on where to go and where not to go. Recommendation being the best publicity we weren't let down once. We came away truly feeling immersed in the region. Looking at the web-site before we travelled our expectations were quite high for Maison Maurice, upon arrival not only were our expectations met but the were far succeeded and through out the week we spent there things would only get better. The guests: Myself, 35 my wife 31 and our 14 month old little girl. I spent many years in high end hospitality management and I am quite critical of poor and even average hospitality. The Gite: ….itself was immaculate and very tastefully decorated. Yet it was the little details that we kept spotting throughout our stay that really made it feel more like an extension of the owners home rather than a self catering property. Its abundantly clear that every inch of this property has been restored and decorated with nothing but love and attention and its shows through as clear as the light of day. It has everything one might need and lots more besides. The only point I would make is that if your traveling with small kids a quick sweep of the property to remove any items in reach of inquisitive little hands is recommended (it took us all of 3 minutes) and bring a travel stair gate. Outside was equally beautiful, with the owners veg patch, well maintained grasses and flowers everywhere + the (above ground) swimming pool and wood fired hot tub you couldn’t help but feel like you were in a little piece of heaven which is exactly where you are. The Owner: Saving the best for last. As I mentioned I spent many years in high end hospitality and Richard is what you might call a unicorn, so rare that you think people like this don’t exist. He is unbelievably talented as a chef (avail of the open kitchen as often as possible) incredibly enthusiastic about being a host, as hard working as a herd of oxen in south east Asia and one of the kindest most genuine people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. I can only take off my hat to the man and say well done for all you have achieved. On the night before we left, we were asked to let the owners know if there was anything they could improve on. I’m still trying to think of something…..

Amazing gîte and amazing host!

Spent a week at La Maison de Maurice while house hunting in the area. The cottage is beautifully decorated and has everything you could need. The kitchen is well equipped, the lounge is very cosy with its wood burning stove (not that we needed it in June) and the bed very comfortable. Richard is an absolutely charming host, he has a great sense of humour and is a great cook - his home made bread and jams are to die for! There is the option for him to cook for you either in your gîte or in his outdoor kitchen and we took him up on this one evening. We had a fabulous 4 course meal accompanied by some very nice local wine and all at a very reasonable price. We would have no hesitation in recommending La Maison de Maurice. We bought our own home here at Bois Mort in 2009, and just fell in love with the area, a year or so later our very aged neighbour Maurice had to go in to a retirement home due to failing health, we were given the opportunity to purchase his crumbling old house with its derelict out buildings and decided we had to rescue them and bring them back to life, the results are we now have Maison Maurice and the Old Goat Shed and we are absolutely delighted to able to share them with our guests.

The hamlet of Bois Mort is located in the rolling countryside of the Deux Sevres, a very peaceful department of France and when we stumbled upon this area we instantly fell in love with it, stunning walks, the beautiful river, charming old villages, fantastic cheeses, local wines and produce and the locals where just so open and friendly and made us feel so welcome we knew that we had to make a home here, well we have!, and wouldn't change it for the world, we hope when you visit Bois Mort you'll feel the same way too!
