Our hosts Maxine and Darren, could not have been more welcoming and helpful. They really made it a wonderful and relaxing stay in their beautiful tranquil farmhouse. We felt the stress melt away, as each day gradually unfolded. The house was well equipped, we made use of the charcoal bbq, pool and enjoyed long walks in the surrounding countryside. I highly recommend the farm house, the area and especially the hosts.

Really lovely stay

We had a really lovely long weekend, it is both wonderfully isolated and yet easy to access towns and villages, including Limoges by car. Maxine and Darren were really lovely and very helpful, the animals were a joy and I would definitely consider visiting again

Great Holidays

What an absolute gem of a place, a real hidden treasure. The house is beautifully decorated, with everything you could possibly need. Located in the most beautiful surroundings. Darren and Maxine are fantastic hosts, very warm and welcoming. They were fantastic with our children, who adored the animals. We can’t wait to visit again.

We had an amazing stay in Maxine’s beautiful farmhouse. There was everything we needed and we loved seeing the goats, horses and chickens each day. The occasional visit from Pumpkin and Storm was very welcomed too!The area around the property is absolutely stunning and with our luck with the weather, we spent a large amount of time outside, walking, cycling and swimming in the nearby lake. The two words I would use to sum up our break are peace and tranquility. It really is a very relaxing place to spend time and we will be back!Lots of interesting (very quiet and un-touristy) places to visit nearby and travelling by car was a breeze with very little traffic on the roads - did I mention it was quiet?!Thank you Maxine for being a great host and we hope to see you again soon!

Wonderfully spacious house that was perfect for our family holiday with our adult children and young grandchildren. Especially appreciated was: the large, well- equipped kitchen/ dining room with plenty of space for cooking, dining and games around the table; several bathrooms; a chance to feed the animals and lots of outdoor space for the children; beautiful views and peaceful surroundings; the helpfulness and warmth of welcome from Maxine and Darren.

Idyllic location & beautiful accommodation

Perfect place for a relaxing family holiday. As a party of 4 adults, with one who loves to cook, the farmhouse style kitchen & great cooking facilities was a real bonus, everything we needed to prepare family meals, also included a great BBQ in our private outside area. Hosts were perfect, lovely welcome then left us to our own devices but were often around within the grounds if needed. We'd definitely stay here again & would highly recommend to others.

Lovely location

Lovely space, good kitchen , water pressure is low whenall using shower ,location great for relaxing and take in the views, but the weather not brilliant, but that the gamble you take ,but lots to do.

Beautiful, very rural location. Incredibly peaceful.Ideal for large families as the property is huge with a wonderful farmhouse style kitchen. Plunge pool very welcome as the weather was amazing when we stayed. Icing on the cake: all the friendly animals !Highly recommend

Great place to calm down

We had a greatl stay at Le Grand Juvet. Maxine and Darren are fantastic hosts, who react quickly on questions and gave nice tips for daily trips (such as a visit to the nearby zoo and a lake). The house Is tidy and has everything one needs. Would absolutely recommend!

Lovely and comfortable place in the middle of the countryside

We loved our stay at Le Grand Juvet. Maxine was very helpful, the house was very clean, comfortable and absolutely perfect for a stay with young children. We loved the views over the sheep, the horses and even the goats. I can definitely recommend it if you’re here to explore the countryside!

Great place, lots to do on the farm and in the area

Great House to stay with big family or friends, very friendly hosts living on the property with their horses, goats, baby chickens and other animals. The kids loved it. Also the game room and the pool of course. A lot to do in the area, Limoge visit, Castles and the Richard the Lionheart Route for example. For sure we will be back to explore more.

We had a great time again

After spending last summer @juvet, the kids insisted on returning this year and bring friends along. We all had a wonderful time, the 5 kids were busy with the animals and bathing in the pool or lakes nearby. We will be back next year!

Quiet Easter Get Away

We had a lovely time in Maxine and Daren's beautiful farmhouse in rural France. The setting was perfect for a relaxing week away. The weather was a bit hit and miss but the hosts provided a games area for the boys to play which was a lovely gesture and they really enjoyed it. The boys also really enjoyed visiting the farm animals up close and if they could have brought them back to the UK, they would have. Thank you for a lovely relaxing week.

Fabulous week

We had an amazing week, the house, grounds and surrounding area is stunning. The house is spacious, clean and has everything you can possibly need. The pool was a great place to relax overlooking the calming countryside. Maxine and Darren were extremely lovely. The animals on site were an added bonus - Haggis & Hamish the baby goats made the week very special! Not forgetting the beautiful horses. We would love to rebook.

Wonderful relaxing time

Thank you so much to Maxine and Darren. We had a wonderful time at your beautiful gîte. The rooms are large, the beds comfortable, the gardens safe and the pool is just lovely. The kitchen has everything you could ever need and more. The whole place is enchanting. We relaxed so much which was much needed. The information shared was perfect and incredibly helpful. Great holiday!

We really had a fantastic holiday! A beautiful house in a beautiful environment. Everything was complete, we lacked nothing. There were even two baby beds for our two granddaughters of 8.5 months. And our daughter and her friend of 14 years had a great time taking care of the horses! And not to forget, our thanks to Maxine and Darren, to whom we could ask everything and who were so friendly.

Amazing - Definitely a home from home

Maxine and Darren were great. The house is just beautiful and has everything you need for it to feel like a home from home. Our 3 year old found a new best friend in Percy the Peacock, the seimming lakes nearby make the location just stunning. Unfortunately for us we brought the english weather for the first 4 days but after that the weather matched the location and house and was just gorgeous. Thank you so much Maxine and Darren we didnt know what to expect when we arrived but your beautiful house thoroughly exceeded every expectation.

Beautiful house, peaceful location.

We were warmly welcomed by Maxine when we arrived. She showed us around, told us what we needed to know, and left us with their contact number if we needed or wanted anything. The house was lovely, and had everything we could need. The garden was secure for the dogs and our private pool area was lovely. We could.not have wanted for more. The area was beautiful, very peaceful. Maxine helped us arrange a vet appointment prior to our return, which made life easy. Great location, lots to see within a short drive, but remote enough to enjoy the night stars. Would reccomend this to all my friends, and we will definately return.
