I'm a frequent visitor to the cape and this time was looking for something with character and something peaceful not too far away from the city to take my young family (9 months old daughter) to and found this little gem. It is really cosy, contemporary and nicely decorated with attention to detail and you can tell they put a lot of effort and thought into this place. Prior to family life we enjoyed staying at Small Luxury/Leading Hotels of the World places and other Boutique places and now with the kid this really felt like a nice alternative. After booking, the owners contacted us in advance to see what we needed for the little one and everything was prepared and ready when we arrived. If you have kids, you learn to appreciate not having to bring everything with you and a place that is kids safe! Best part was, they didn't charge for it. Probably cause they have tow boys themselves they have a sense for family life.
There's a nice place to eat around the corner and the winery Steenberg is not far with Golf course attached. Not that I had time for it, but nonetheless. Also its not too far from the sear with a nature pool, that our daughter enjoyed. The are, Zwaanszwyk, is quite nice, large compounds and houses with gardens, quite relaxing. A nature reserve lies just behind the property, which I enjoyed for running and walks with the family.
I can definitely recommend the place, especially also for the hospitality and friendliness of the owners, feels a bit like staying with friends, without the obligations, though ; ) Btw, if you are lucky, you get to taste their home made ice cream that they usually sell on local markets, yummy ; )
