Salcombe: Lodges

The lodge was absolutely spotless upon arrival and we were treated to some homemade goodies by Annette. I was surprised that the lodge is much bigger than it seemed on the photos. Very cosy and tasteful rooms! The beds were all extremely comfortable and I am very fussy! I loved the fact that both bedrooms had their own on-suite so the children had their own bathroom. Fantastic. Another highlight was the lovely big and light kitchen. I really enjoyed making some meals in it, which I hadn’t planned on doing! Although we were rather unlucky with the weather I would still like to mention the lovely big garden, the playing field round the back of the stables with swings and a football goal and the pond down at the bottom of the field. Location was fab. 5 mins car ride to Bantham beach which is just stunning. Lots of attractions for families within a 20-40 min car ride. We stayed two weeks and didn’t run out of things to do. We could have easily filled another week. Lots of great pubs/restaurants, if you are a fan of seafood you are really spoilt for choice. We actually are not, and still had plenty of options. Our personal favourites were Church House Inn and California Inn. Both reachable by car in 10-15 minutes. An absolute highlight was the fact that we were able to charge our electric car at the lodge. This is one example of the way Annette and Barry go above and beyond for their guests. Possibly the best family holiday we have had! Thank you Annette and Barry!
