Bellecroft House is located in beautiful Trinity East. With unparalleled vistas, privacy and comfort, this lovingly restored heritage home is perfectly situated for exploring the Bonavista Peninsula, with its historic towns of Trinity, Port Union and Bonavista.
Just a stone’s throw from the sea, Bellecroft House overlooks some 450 feet of private seafront, offering panoramic views of Trinity Harbour, the lighthouse and the village of Trinity just across the bay. We are a convenient 1km walk/drive to the Skerwink Trailhead and 500 metres to the popular Brightside Bistro.

Bellecroft house is equipped with a full kitchen, full size fridge, dishwasher, washer & dryer & all necessary utensils (Nespresso machine, kettle, toaster, microwave etc.). Open dining & living area.

Upstairs includes two bedrooms with queen size beds and closets and two full bathrooms (one right outside the bedroom and the other one is en-suite) - both bedrooms have sea views. Both upper and lower floors are air conditioned.

We loved our stay at Bellcroft house. Chris and Lily are the perfect hosts and provide everything you could need. The house is beautifully renovated and so relaxing overlooking the water. Only a few minutes from the Skyrwink trail for phenomenal hiking. A tucked away treasure.

Very well done and extremely private and an incredible view across the cove to the town of Trinity. Two spacious bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs with plenty of living space on the main floor as well. Chris and Lily greeted us upon arrival and showed us around. Also, take Lily’s advise and make sure you set up your dinner plans ahead of time. Only a few options in town and they can book up fast.

What a beautiful, very clean and private cottage on the bay across from Trinity. Chris and Lily were amazing hosts and very personable. Excellent communication before we arrived with detailed directions, area places to visit etc. Chris met us on our arrival to go through a few things about the cottage which was very appreciative along with information about the area. The cottage was very well equipped with all the amenities you would need. We hope that one day we can return for another visit.

Incredible! Do yourself a favor and stay as long as possible. Amazing house with amazing views. Cozy living and dining, great beds and bathrooms, and the kitchen and laundry have high-end appliances. The deck looks across the water to the small historic area of Trinity. The location is perfect and couldn’t be more picturesque. There are tons of great hikes nearby and the location is an easy drive from everything in the peninsula. We wish we had stayed here longer and used this as our base to explore and/or just stay at the house and relax. The hosts are amazing and gave lots of excellent tips for a great trip. We can’t say enough good things about this place!

The property was amazingly beautiful, both the house itself as well as the views. Its located right on the water with a view of Trinity and surrounding scenery. Bellecroft House was amazing ! It’s situated perfectly, at the end of a private road, with a gorgeous view, overlooking the town of Trinity on the other side of the bay, and a lighthouse at the end of the peninsula. It was exactly the type of setting we were looking for with our first trip to Newfoundland. The area was perfect to venture out on short drives to Cape Bonavista Lighthouse, puffin viewing in Elliston, and the Rising Tide Theatre in Trinity. We enjoyed delicious food at the Brightside Bistro, a walkable distance from Bellecroft House. Our Hosts, Lily and Chris were welcoming, accommodating, kind, and always available to communicate with. They have supplied Bellecroft House with all necessities and beyond… the high-quality decor and accessories have been carefully chosen, and show a true pride of ownership. The house was spotlessly clean with spacious, upgraded bathrooms, and comfortable queen beds outfitted with cotton sheets, duvets, and quilts - much appreciated! This house was perfect for our 2-couple group - offering 2 comparable queen bedrooms, each with their own large bathroom. The house is equipped with an excellent heating and cooling system, providing total comfort.If we return to Newfoundland, Bellecroft House will be on our list of stays. It was our favourite accommodation during our 2-week vacation.Perfect and Beautiful, with outstanding Hosts.Thank you Lily & Chris !!

What can I say-truly lovely home that has been renovated top to bottom. Great location with views that are to die for. The house was well equipped, cosy and provided lots of space for myself and my three sisters. Walking distance to restaurants and to the Sherwink Trail head - absolutely gorgeous. My husband and I loved the Bellcroft House, it’s very clean, beautifully decorated, everything is new and the supplied amenities are top notch, right down to the TP. What can you say about the view, it’s amazing and can be seen from all rooms. The owners, Lily and Chris are very welcoming and always there to help with questions and recommendations. We have stayed in many house rentals and this is one of the best!

Outstanding Accommodation at Bellecroft House

Lily and Chris could not be better hosts… warm friendly and very helpful with information about the area. Beautiful space where we felt immediately at home. Close to scenic hiking, and attractions in Trinity, Bonavista and Elliston … after a busy day this was the most peaceful and scenic retreat. Our only wish was to have stayed longer … Thank you Lily and Chris for making us feel so welcome … we hope to return!

What a wonderful experience! The view across the bay of Trinity was priceless. We stayed with our 3 year old and she absolutely loved the area. A short walk to the water for treasure hunting. Easy day trips with this house as home-base. Chris and Lily were incredible hosts.

My sister and I had the most wonderful experience at Bellecroft House. The communication with Lily and Chris upon our arrival was excellent. They provided clear directions to the house. Upon entering the home it was everything we had viewed on the VRBO site. This renovated house was lovely. The views of the bay including the village of Trinity was breathtaking. There was quick access to a restaurant and local hikes. Highly recommended!

This was our first trip to Newfoundland. We stayed in several towns during our 13 days in Newfoundland, including 3 nights in St. John’s, but our favorite stay was the 6 nights at the Bellecroft House. The house is perfect with a beautiful kitchen, bathrooms, comfy beds,… but what really made it for us was staying right on the water and seeing the water from every room in the house. It was also so quiet and peaceful. We hiked some but not all the area trails. Skerwink was our favorite with stunning views. Also Gun Hill, including the very top rocky part is a fun hike with great views. We went sea kayaking and saw a Minke whale. We also went on a 3 hour Zodiac boat ride with Kris from Sea of Whales and saw whales and caves and other neat things. Bellecroft House has a nice kitchen but fortunately we didn’t use it much since there are many good area restaurants. Our favorites were Brightside Bistro, Dock Marina Restaurant, and Twine Loft. Loved the fresh Cod. Also the Port Rexton Brewery, close to the house, has great beer and oddly grilled cheese sandwiches. I had a blueberry grilled cheese sandwich that was amazing. One other random thing we loved about the house was the water. Right out of the tap, I’ve never had water so cold and pure tasting. The host said it comes from a 400’ deep well and has been tested for purity. We will definitely be back to Newfoundland and will stay at this house again but for a longer period of time.

We were looking for a place in Trinity / Port Rexton with short notice & we ended up finding a magical place. The house had amazing character, was reasonably priced & wonderful owners (Chris&Lilly). The house is a quiet, old home that has been newly renovated with great attention to detail. We were on the water with nobody around and yet still close enough to town. If we ever come back to Newfoundland we would absolutely stay here again. You won’t be disappointed. 10 stars

Bellecroft house is such a beautiful home and a stunning waterfront property! We are so happy to have found this gem of a home. The home was very comfortable, clean and well maintained. We were two senior couples travelling together and having the use of our own bathrooms was such a great and comfortable convenience. The hosts Lily and Chris are such a wonderful, welcoming, informative and accommodating couple. It was a real pleasure to have met them. We will definitely stay here again for our next trip out and will refer our family and friends to this wonderful property!Thank you Lily and Chris!Lynda & Michael and Alexis & Gary

Lynda, Michael, Alexis & Gary were wonderful guests. They looked after the house, left it clean & neat. They were kind, friendly and we enjoyed meeting them. We do not hesitate to recommend them to any hosts. We hope to have the opportunity to host them again. Thank you all !

We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Bellecroft House. From the moment we checked in, Lily and Chris were extremely accommodating and gracious hosts. They walked us through the property and made sure we knew how everything worked. The property was spotless, with brand new renovations just recently completed. The property is set on private beachfront which feels extremely secluded and intimate, perfect for a weekend away with my husband and our friends. It was a gorgeous home with all the amenities we could possibly need. We loved our stay and would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Newfoundland. Thanks Chris and Lily!

Perfect house. Perfect hosts. Perfect province. We couldn’t be happier. Chris and Lily have created a gem of a property.. furnished for comfort with a sophisticated understanding of what informal comfort should be. The house came well prepared including kitchen staples and bathroom necessities. I was surprised to find drawers stocked with rubbing alcohol and first aid items. Lots of white, fluffy towels.. everything but a Swedish masseuse. Lily and Chris dropped by to water outdoor plantings and see that we were okay. My wife said talking to Lily was like catching up wit a lifelong friend. The scenery was breathtaking.. Trinity in sight across the bay. The girls and young women servers we encountered at restaurants were wholesome and willing to chat. They personified the pleasant character Newfoundlanders are known for. We’re back home in Ontario now.. and feeling a bit homesick. Thank you, Lily and Chris, for making our holiday so memorable.

Guy, Veda, Mike & Kim were great guests to host. They are friendly, warm and interesting. We have great conversations & laughs ! They left the property neat & clean. We fo not hesitate to recommend them to any host. A Big thank you all for staying with us and we look forward to hosting you again.

Beautifully, lovingly renovated spacious cottage in an absolutely idyllic setting. Photos don’t do it justice. Foxgloves & other wildflowers are strewn all over the already picturesque waterfront setting. Highly comfortable living room, fully kitted kitchen w everything you might need including delicious coffee. Lovely large luxe bathrooms. Ingenious windows/screens that allow the breeze without the rain. The setting is seriously to die for, looking over the water at Trinity, her lighthouse, & the mountains behind. There’s even a picturesque waterfall down the lane. We were lucky enough to see stunning sunsets & a whale at the mouth of the bay. And more, Lily went completely above & beyond out of her way to solve an issue & ensure a good night’s sleep & stay was had by all. The beds are fantastically comfy. Absolutely could not ask for better hosts. She & Chris were wonderful with communication, & with providing all the lux details that make a house a cozy retreat. And the cottage is walking distance to Brightside Bistro - make your Rez! We couldn’t stay away 3 nights in a row. The don’t-miss Skerwink Trail is also walk g distance.Deepest gratitude; we will stay again soon! Lily, you & Chris are beyond wonderful.
