Perched upon a rugged Canadian Shield peninsula is Neverland; a private retreat with a birds eye view of Eagle Lake.
Multiple decks surround the timber-framed house and guest/kids cabin and thoughtful paths meander throughout the property ~ leading to the magical (2000 ft) shoreline of beautiful lakefront.
Neverland is an oasis of nature and privacy, in a most lovely setting providing an incomparable, soul-nourishing experience.
The space
NEVERLAND
INTRODUCTION
Neverland is about being in nature. Multiple decks and balconies surround the house. The BBQ deck has a teak dining table and chairs covered by a massive canvass umbrella for outdoor meals. The view from the private sun-bathing deck through the pines is breathtaking. Thoughtful paths meander throughout the property leading to magical shoreline spots, a new custom built floating dock with Adirondack chairs, and even two lakeside fire pits from which to watch the sun set or the sun rise; one with an elevated south-east facing view and the other at lake level with views to the north-west. An ample supply of firewood is available for your use.
Inside this delightful custom-crafted timber framed home, you’ll find an abundance of warm, natural pine panelling, barn wood, a mix of slate and cherry wood floors, and sun filled rooms. Nearly half of Neverland‘s “walls“ comprise floor-to-ceiling windows or glass-panelled doors. The guest/kids cabin is a cozy addition should your party need more space. The transition from indoors to outdoors is seamless. It‘s like living in a child‘s treehouse.
The kitchen, with center island, is the hub of the house with an efficient layout which opens to a dining and sitting area ~ all which take in pretty lake vistas.
There are 3 architecturally pleasing and comfortable bedrooms; the master loft with a king bed, and the others with queen beds. One full bath upstairs with soaking tub and a first floor half bath with an adjacent outdoor shower and both with sunset views!
The bright and open living room features an artful wood burning fireplace, soaring cathedral ceilings, and is surrounded by windows allowing for exquisite lake views. Watch the sun rise over here and set over there.

The cottage itself is a uniquely hand crafted, 3 section timber frame building.
The first section is a homey feeling open concept room, surrounded by windows as you can view the lake from 270 degrees. This room is great for relaxing on the couch to read a book or play some board games while the wood fireplace is on (if it's a cool day). Otherwise the windows can be wide open as the breeze flows through the room. With a 20ft tall open white oak timber-frame ceiling, the room feels big, and while looking up, you can see the crafty wooden catwalk that leads you to the luxurious loft bedroom. This bedroom is the largest in Neverland and has a King sized bed. The loft has big open windows for the breeze to blow through along with two sky lights that you can look at the stars above while falling asleep. This room is a little piece of heaven, in Neverland.
Walk up the small set of stairs and you'll enter the 2nd, largest timber frame structure and the heart of Neverland; the Kitchen and reading nook. The kitchen has all of the necessities one would need for a comfortable luscious stay, and then some. A gas range, dishwasher, fridge and your own wooden cutting board island. Compost is conveniently built into the wooden cutting board. outside of the kitchen is the deck with a couple chairs to relax while you turn on the BBQ.
In the same room as the kitchen, is the 6 person dinning table. There is also a cozy reading nook in the corner with stunning views of eagle lake.
As you walk to the end of the cottage, you'll go up 1 stair to the main floor bedroom. But first, on your right is the main floor bathroom. There is a toilet and sink in the bathroom. It is a 2 piece bathroom itself, however, this is listed as the second full bathroom. The shower is located outside of the bathroom door... for an amazing outdoor shower experience.
The very end of the cottage is the downstairs portion of the third uniquely weathered timber-frame, which is the downstairs queen sized bedroom. It is also equipped with a great reading nook and closet space. With a stunning view of the lake, you can't find a better place to wake up and look through your double door glass doors and walk outside to your own private bedroom deck for a morning stretch.
When you go up the stairs to the large open concept entertainment room, you'll be welcomed with a comfy couch to lay back and watch a movie on the flat screen tv. Behind the couch, looking out of a large combination of windows, is the desk. A great place to; set up your computer to write, a model to build, a video to edit, or just send some general emails. You will look out and be inspired by the view, weather the sun rays are beaming inside or the rain is falling. You can also see the upper deck through the window. Leave the entertainment room and walk onto the upper deck: A place to view the stars at night or suntan in the day and take in the breathtaking view. This is another fantastic place to just relax and read a book outside.
The main bathroom is located upstairs beside the entertainment room and has no shortage of space. A lovely large classic style bathtub is a nice place to relax and have a bath while having a glass of wine. The shower is no compromise as the rain shower head slowly falls on your body while the handheld shower adds more water pressure for a more enjoyable shower experience.
Leave the bathroom and you'll see the entertainment room. To your right is the upstairs blue bedroom, which is the top of the weathered timber frame. A great place for the kids to sleep and has a featured glass floor in a small part of the bedroom.
Turn left out of the bathroom and head to the loft bedroom, where you will walk across the bridge to your own king sized bedroom. This is typically the nicest bedroom in Neverland as it has the king sized bed, sky lights and a nice open concept feel. However, it is also hard to beat the view from the bedroom on the main floor. Both are fantastic and you may find yourself testing out both bedrooms during your stay.
On a beautiful morning there is nothing better than taking your coffee out to the front deck and reading a book while looking out on the calm lake. If you're treated with a thunderstorm, have your coffee in the reading nook and look outside at the rain falling on the lake as you hear it on the roof of Neverland.
You'll find yourself immersed in Neverland, and not wanting to leave, whether its a beautiful, hot, sunny day, or pouring rain outside, it's the perfect place to relax and enjoy being in nature.
