Jimena was quick to respond to whatever we needed to ask her. Casa Maya is spacious, lots of room to spread out or be all together! Furnishings were lovely and comfortable. So much to look at! The kitchen was well equipped. And of course the location cannot be beat!

The house and everything in it was amazing! I loved it at Casa Beya and plan on returning.. The hosts were very responsive to my questions and helped me arrange many things, such as a taxi for when I arrived, an excursion, a golf cart, etc.There are several great places to eat within walking distance which was nice.This was my first time in Belize and I was a Solo Traveler. I felt very safe in the area and met some great people!

This was a wonderful place for our group of five. We enjoyed unlimited ocean access, enjoyed the covered dock and access to kayaks, SUPs, etc. The kitchen offered everything we needed to cook breakfasts and a few evening meals at the villa. The villa has a funky vibe -paint themes, tiling, etc. that we enjoyed. Not a sterile, bland place at all. We very much felt at home. We took advantage of the washer and dryer to leave our stay with clean clothes! Nice. We had a small issue with sargassum (certainly not the host's fault!) but we were able to swim each day by going out on the dock to enter the water. We did have to go through some sargassum leaving the water - a ladder of some type (removeable?) would help facilitate getting back on to the dock for us 70 folks. We enjoyed watching the Olympics, Michigan basketball and some movies on TV. Again we felt right at home. This was simply a great place for a relaxing vacation. One caution - the circular (driveway) is narrow and not a true arc. I creased the lower panel of the rental car on landscaping rock/stone. I pulled straight in and backed out after that. Again not the fault of the owner. Lots of guide books and paperbacks are in the bookshelves - I left a fiction book I had brought (and took one) plus I left a guide book for future guests to use. Th ruins at Xunantunich and the Farmers market in SA are worth the trip. We would highly recommend Casa Beya and would definitely stay here again

The location is terrific and lived up to the photos and description. Martin and Diana were wonderful on site to provide local information and available any time we had questions. Having bikes to ride, kayak to enjoy, and SUPing at the ready, was ideal.

Beautiful but noisy

This is a beautiful place right on the beach. Unfortunately the noise from the main road is at times loud/ obtrusive. Martin was fantastic at organizing snorkel & dive trips. Paddle boarding/kayaking over to the island amazing as we saw manatee & high leaping dolphins

The house was exactly as described and perfect for us. Nothing fancy but had everything we needed. The kayaks and bikes were a huge bonus! It’s a little far from the villlage but we had everything we wanted within walking distance (great restaurants and a small grocery store). Hopefully we can make it back someday and I would choose this house again.

A Wonderful Experience

We stayed in Casa Beya for an extended period (June-July 2021) and my family of four (kids 8 and 11) had a fantastic experience. The house, village, country etc... were all exactly as described. We completely fell in love with everything Placencia and Maya Beach has to offer. We would highly recommend this property for anyone looking to unplug and relax!

Beautiful and convenient

Our stay at Casa Beya was wonderful. The house is very cute and full of artful details. You can see it was built with love. There are good restaurants near the house, and a 10 min car drive to the grocery store. The highlight was the swing bed on the porch and the view of the night sky from the beach, we even saw a falling star. Martin was very helpful arranging for day trips. We would consider coming back to Casa Beya if we return to Belize.

Our first family vacation out of the States

Our trip was awesome. When we arrived we met Martin and his wife who are the caretakers of the property. They helped us navigate the area and even set up a couple of the trips that we took. The house was super easy to find. It was stocked with everything we needed to have a great time. I loved sitting on the water and have my coffee in the morning. We also used the kayaks and paddle boards a few times. While there, we kayaked to island across from house, we booked an all day fishing excursion, we shopped, we snorkeled, and we went on guided trip to the Mayan ruins. I would highly recommend Belize and this rental.

A True Vacation

My best friend and I took a lady's trip to Belize with hopes of some time in the sun/ on the water with some relaxing between....little did we know how much more we would get. Staying at Casa Beya was dreamy. Access to everything we could have wanted! We used the kayaks/ snorkle gear/ paddle boards, all which worked well. We walked 2-7 minutes to nearby restaurants for our meals/ drinks. Martin even arranged a local chef to make us dinner at the house one evening with some fresh fish that had been caught by a local fisherman. There was heavy rain one afternoon so we watched a movie and played games. The property caretakers, Martin and Diana, were very easy to communicate with and they made sure we have everything we needed throughout the process. I cannot recommend Casa Beya strongly enough.

It was, “OK”

Very old building. No air conditioning except for bedrooms, which was fine for sleeping but otherwise, we were quite miserable. No air movement in the house so very hot and muggy. Also, they list that they have a washer, so I brought very little clothes thinking I could wash and rewear, but nope. No washer. The caretakers are pleasant and response to questions or issues, (and I don’t know exactly what their roles are), however, they told us they would take our trash out daily and rake the beach daily and that didn’t happen. Not to mention that you need to throw your used toilet paper in the trash, not the toilet, and little bugs were coming to the trash in the kitchen. And, lots of seaweed would wash up on shore and it stunk. Would also have liked them to sweep the stairs to the decks as well as the decks, on a daily basis, due to sand tracking. There was a small foot bath at the bottom of the stairs, but that wasn’t changed for up to 3 days and it was full of sand and seaweed. Not exactly able to clean our feet in it prior to walking on the decks or in the house. I would NOT recommend this establishment.

Hello Lisa, we really appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve service, and we have followed up with our caretakers, as this is unusual. It is indeed the caretaker's job to rake the beach daily in the morning, and on a daily basis, take the trash out, sweep the stairs and deck, and provide clean water for the foot bath at the bottom of the stairs. There is no excuse as to why that was not the case during your stay, and for that we are sorry. We are glad to hear you were able to sleep well with the AC in the bedrooms. We have now installed a 24,000 BTU air conditioner in the living room too. There is indeed a washer located in the caretakers home. They are able to do your laundry for $20 BZ, upon request. This information should have been provided to you on your welcome package and it also included on the guest book, which is located on top of the coffee table in the living room. We appreciate your stay with us and just know that we have taken your feedback seriously.

Nice place, great hosts

Nice beach house with lots of room. Only downside is that it's close to the road and there was a lot of road noise from trucks and busses in the morning.

Sweet Home in Need of TLC!!

We rented CB as an anniversary getaway. Based upon the photos & description, we planned on spending time swimming & relaxing on the beach & dock. While we did have privacy & there are a lot of positives about the home, many exterior features are in need of repair/maintenance. This may have something to do with the property’s current listing status for sale. There apparently are plans to repair/refurbish things after our stay.(?) The location is great. As others have said, great pizza across the street & delicious dining up the beach at Maya Beach Bistro. Communication was off, as the caretaker (Martin) was unsure of the number in our party upon our arrival, despite our previous notes to property mgr. Martin also neglected to inform us that there was a make-shift ladder for the dock. (There wasn’t one attached per the VRBO photos.) He did apologize for not telling us sooner (than our last day)! On arrival, we were super sad to discover a plastic-laden beach. Martin said a storm had washed it in the day before, but not sure why he hadn’t cleaned it up?! (There was a LOT.) My husband and I are environmentally conscientious, so we cleaned it & continued daily to clear the plastic from both CB’s beach & next door (vacant). AFA other aspects of cleaning, we discovered a petrified avocado in a cupboard (Eww!!) We also found ourselves having to sweep the deck regularly because of the decaying thatched roof. Missing ladder aside, the dock flooring itself is in need of replacement. Half of the beach/dock furniture was broken & in need of repair. The interior of the house is cute & colorful as pictured. Well stocked kitchen. Bed is just ok, but sleeps well after rum punch, no worries! Pillows should be replaced. BUT, the view from the master is awesome. Truly wonderful to wake up to each morning! Having the large water dispenser is also a nice touch. Wish there would’ve been working bikes. (A slight inquiry was made by Martin on our arrival of our intention to ride, but it seemed it was going to take some repair for them to be available to us, so we let it go.) Blessings bakery/sweet rolls & Marina’s fruit stand in Seine Bight are fab. All in all, a lovely location, a sweet house with incredible views, yet a potential that is [currently] left unfulfilled. We would love to return with our kids if the house was a bit better maintained & some effort (outside our own) was made to remove the plastic from the beach each day!

It was nice.

House is a work of art but needs some TLC. Having direct access to the beach was a big plus. Being on the peninsula though means you’re also on the main road which is loud. The bowling alley across the street is loud as well with patrons. There is no generator so when the electricity goes off you not only lose that but also water. We still enjoyed ourselves with activities and restaurants near the house and in the village.

Hi! We’re Jimena and Heath, and we’re so excited to welcome you to Casa Beya. Our love story with Belize started long before we became vacation rental hosts—we got married here in 2019! But it was in March 2024, during a one-week spring break trip, that we stumbled upon this incredible beachfront home and instantly knew it had to be part of our family’s story.

We live in Portland, Oregon, with our three children, where the weather tends to be rainy, so escaping to the sun, sand, and sea of Placencia is always a dream. Since purchasing Casa Beya, we’ve poured our hearts into updating and remodeling it to create a perfect oasis for family, friends, and now, for you!

For us, hosting is all about sharing the magic of this place—the peaceful ocean breeze, the stunning views, and the joy of walking right out onto the dock to feel the sea beneath your feet. We love helping guests create unforgettable memories here, whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, or a bit of both.
