White Rock Retreat · Annapolis Valley

Perched above a steep rocky incline on the north bank of the Gaspereau Valley, White Rock was designed by Omar Gandhi Architects as an escape with views above the tree line.

Getting here is part of the experience: valley roads, farms, orchards, and vineyards give way to a hairpin turn through the trees before the retreat comes into view.

Inside, oak paneling, raw steel shelving, and a curated collection of custom furniture create an atmosphere that is warm, intimate, and impossible to rush through. A wood-burning fireplace anchors the main living space on the upper floor, which opens to sweeping valley views. The kitchen is fully equipped and designed to disappear into the space.

On the floor below, two bedrooms with king-size beds and floor-to-ceiling windows looking out to the forest are designed for deep, uninterrupted sleep. Step into the bathroom and the same quiet follows, with dark stone tile throughout and a rain-head shower.

Above it all, a rooftop terrace meant for morning coffee, a long lunch, or a glass of wine at golden hour. Come evening, the firepit waits under a sky full of stars.

Nova Scotia's best wineries are your neighbours. Benjamin Bridge sits directly below the property, with others a short drive away. Trails for hiking and snowshoeing are close by, with lakes and rivers for swimming just down the road. Wolfville's farmers' markets sit just north, with golf and skiing within 25 minutes.
