This geodesic house outside of Bend was such a cool and memorable stay. The interior is incredibly unique, full of natural light, and just feels special the moment you walk in. Each morning we were greeted by deer and a little black rabbit roaming the yard—such a peaceful way to start the day!The location was perfect for us—easy access to Bend, but south enough to make our next leg into the Umpqua Forest a breeze. The inside was spotless and well-kept, and while the hot tub wasn’t plugged in when we arrived, it heated up quickly once we got it going. We didn’t try the outdoor shower, but it probably works the same way.Fun fact: even though the host mentioned there wasn’t a DVD player, there actually is one—so if you’re feeling nostalgic, swing by the last remaining Blockbuster in Bend and make a night of it. (Yes, it’s still open in 2025!)A few things future guests might want to know:– There’s no AC, so you’ll want to open windows in warmer weather.– The yard is pretty wild, but it fits with the rural setting.– There’s a small, covered floor duct with a wooden platform over it—no issue for us, but we used it as a shoe rack just to be safe.– No microwave, and the bidet isn’t hooked up to water.Overall, a unique and peaceful stay that gave us everything we needed.
