This idyllic wilderness retreat is situated on a private island on Lake Nipissing, five hours’ drive north of Toronto and six hours west of Ottawa. It would be ideal for a one-in-a-lifetime family holiday, an unforgettably romantic honeymoon or for writing the great Canadian novel.
The cottage contains three bedrooms (each with a double or queen size bed), a well-equipped kitchen, a living room with wood stove, a bathroom, a forty-foot long screened porch and a smaller screened porch off the master bedroom. See photos below.
The wood-fired sauna is in a separate building and has its own sitting room with a single bed for your post-sauna nap.
The covered boat house is situated in a protected bay offering maximum protection for your boat.
The property is entirely off-grid. Solar panels provide electricity for lights and Internet. Hot water, stove , fridge and freezer run on propane. A wood stove provides heat. The sauna is also wood-fired. A gasoline generator runs tools, your blow drier, the vacuum and, most importantly, the coffee grinder.
Two kayaks (one single and one double) are included.
