Ever wondered what it would be like to enjoy a morning coffee or afternoon drink with only the sounds of the birds and beautiful views to gaze at? Well, we have the perfect spot!
Situated in Elands, surrounded by remote national parks and just down the road from the breath-taking Ellenborough Falls, our gorgeous sandstone farmhouse will capture your heart as it has ours.
The space
Set on 5 acres of lush bush and 2 big cleared paddocks, there is plenty of room to walk and run around with the kids or dogs, or just enjoy the quiet and space. Our seasonal dam often has a good amount of clean rainwater in it so feel free to jump in!
Our property puts on a show every day, whether it’s a beautiful sunrise a misty mountain morning, a hot pink sunset or a sky filled with stars, it’s full of surprises.
The property enjoys daily visits from kangaroos, all sorts of amazing birds and some days deer!
As you walk to the front door, you’ll notice a long, covered veranda with lounge chairs. Just in front of this we have our very own ‘bora ring’ which is the aboriginal term for a place of gathering, an outdoor fire pit so you can enjoy the view on chilly afternoons. It’s our absolute favourite place on the property, hopefully it will be yours too.
The house itself has a beautiful combined living and dining room with a smart TV (Netflix), wifi and our favourite feature: the pot belly stove! We’ll have the firewood chopped and ready for your cosy nights in.
Fully equipped kitchen with electric stove top and oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, and pantry full of herbs etc.
The house is non-smoking but allowed outside the house.
3 spacious bedrooms all with bedding, pillows etc.:
Room 1: queen size bed and wardrobe
Room 2: double size bed, wardrobe, desk and chair
Room 3: single bunk beds to sleep 2 people and desk.
Bathroom with separate shower, bath & separate toilet.
Laundry room with washing machine & sink. Hills hoist and clothes drying rack outside.
There is a covered carport that fits 2 cars + plenty of space for more cars, trailers, etc.
For the dog owners: we have fenced a decent sized yard at the back of the house if you want to contain your dogs for some of the time, this yard has a long undercover porch just through the glass sliding doors from the dining room.
The farm currently doesn’t have any livestock so it’s very safe for kids and/or dogs to run around. The property has rural fencing.
The surrounding areas offer plenty of opportunities for active and adventurous day trips:
Just a few minutes down the road you can find the legendary Ellenborough Falls, the tallest single drop waterfall in New South Wales and amongst the tallest in the southern hemisphere. Enjoy the views from the platform or take the 641 steps to the base of the falls, with rest stops that you'll appreciate on the way back up. At the bottom is a rock pool misted by the spray of the water, splash some of the icy water on your face to cool off. Finish off with a drink and a homemade pastry or pie from the kiosk.
There is an endless network of gravel roads and fire trails waiting to be explored on mountain or gravel bike, taking you through the national parks, state forests, and undulating farmlands of the Bulga Plateau.
In the remote Cells State Conservation Area you can find remnants from the gold mining days, enjoy some amazing 4WDriving and swim in hidden swimming holes and waterfalls.
Just a 15-minute drive from the house are The Rapids, a beautiful swimming hole with rapids to slide down.
We’re happy to share some of the discoveries we’ve made of the nearby activities and attractions so feel free to ask for details!
