This hut is made by Kurichiya tribes, the army of King Pazhassiraja who fought against the British as bowmen while waging guerilla warfare during 1793. This is completely eco-friendly and adhered to the strict green building norms..
It has all the advanced facilities like blackout curtains for a good night sleep, Aircon, fridge, Android TV, hair dryer, geyser, elecrtic kettle etc..and situated on the hill top surrounded by bamboos, rosewood and different fruit trees...We have a large pond with variety of fish inside. Feeding the fish along with nature walk is real fun. With the pollution free atmosphere, Star gazing on a clear night is a mesmerising feel. Peacock, monkeys, Malabar Giant squrrel, Malabar gray hornbill, deer,variety of birds and butterfles are a frequent visitor in our property.
More than 150 years old mud tribal houses are still in Wayanad and one of the oweners Shri. Cheruvayal Raman who is known as guardian of rare seeds was awarded Padmasree by the President of India recently for the consevation of more than 55 varities of rice. His farm is just 3 kms away from Bamboo Grove and is worth visiting. Our mud house is a unique property in the whole of Wayand.
