Salish Sunset Cabin/Oceanfront in Private Forest

Thanks for staying with us Melanie! We hope you had a good time. I am surprised you wouldn’t recommend children, we get so many people that love bringing their children here…they like to sleep in the loft and also play in the forest. Here on Pender there are no predators so parents can let their kids play freely without worry! Please come visit again, the summer months bring extra daylight hours for enjoying the view!

Dear Raymond, Thanks for your feedback and notes. We want to make sure everyone has a wonderful stay at The Salish Sunset, not just ok. I wish you had discussed some of these issues with me when we spoke on the phone during your stay. I could tell you were not completely happy when I inquired if everything was ok and if we could do anything to make your stay more comfortable. We would have been happy to attend to some of these issues to make your stay comfortable. -I could have shown you the wagon. It was next to the road, under the log stack, and was there on the day you arrived and on your departure. I used it to bring supplies down the road when you left. I am used to bringing things up and down the hill, but perhaps it is not for everyone. -We are happy to help with garbage on request. It should not be a surprise for guests to take it away like you said. While it is listed in check out information, it should be stated ahead of time. -Good point about the sunset. I will make sure it’s understood on the listing that we get a Salish Sunset sky over the hills and nature reserve. The sky across the bay gets filled with multiple colors and sweeping clouds, throughout the late spring and summer, a Salish reminder and tradition to end the day with love. -We have it in the listing that there is no WIFI, no cable and we do our best to communicate the steep road situation in the description and in the check in information emailed to guests well ahead of time. We are not willing to provide these amenities, as we feel they detract from paradise, not add to it. I will however make a better effort to describe the listing and that it is a remote property, focused for those that want adventure and to completely unplug. Where they can get back to nature and their own thoughts……to play records, play games, watch for wildlife and explore the forest around them and explore the beach below. Or completely relax with a cup of coffee in front of the fireplace! I am so sorry it wasn’t the stay you envisioned. We will endeavour to communicate better!

It is nice to stay during the rainy months, cozy up to the fireplace and play games, etc….the wildlife can be better then also, but the summer months are fun too! The stars are out and forest smells are sweet and beach combing warmer. Your communication was helpful and appreciated during your stay and we hope you will come back!
