The property is very conveniently located close to the beach, convenience stores, the first floor has a lot of business, I recommend Dave's ice cream by the way. The view is great, the hostess thought on everything, gave us coffee, oil, salt, pepper extra supplies even cleaning tools. Walking distance from the mall, I recommend the Asian food court on the second floor, in front of shared tea, everything is great and affordable there. I think if I come back to Honolulu I will try to stay here again.

My only issue with the stay was I checked in Wednesday and my shower didn't work. It got fixed Friday. I don't blame anyone it's just one of those things that happened. They did address the situation as soon as they could. and they had to order the replacement part. It was just an inconvenience.

The property was built in the late 60’s but was surprisingly updated. The view from the lanai was Incredible. Drinking coffee every morning watching the waves and the beach couldn’t have been better, especially for the price. The property is perfect for any type traveler. Several beaches are yards away and shopping all around the condo. Be sure it’s on the heart of Waikīkī, there’s a lot of traffic. Our family chose to drive all over the island, but if the main objective is to sit on the beach, there’s no need for a car.

Unit was lovely yet a bit dated (worn carpet, bottom dresser drawer a bit wonky). Wonderful view/location. We enjoyed our visit very much!

Great room—exactly as described. Clean and in a great location. Management was excellent. The toaster was broken, but it was replaced the very next day. Easy check-in.

Wonderful Condo at the Illikai

This is the second time we have stayed at the Illikai and the first time in this Condo and it was as wonderful as we experienced last time. The resort is beautiful and the amenities are great. Our condo was exactly at pictured and we had an amazing view of the 4th of July firework display. We will definetely be back!

Perfect stay

Location, view, price, accommodation are all you need for a simple weekend getaway. After a real quick call back from the property manager guided how to turn on the cable tv, it’s all perfect!

Exactly what we expected

We booked this based on the pictures and were not disappointed.. only challenge was it was really busy and elevators were packed at peak times.. store on-site was great and there was easy access to beach and mall as pretty close. Lots of restaurants in the area

Great room!

Our room had plenty of space and a great view! The bed and couch were both comfortable, which was super important for us. No issues at all and we loved that they supplied bech chairs, a cooler bag, and beach towels. Definitely recommend this room to anyone looking. Thanks!

Great Condo and Location

The condo looks better than the photos on VRBO there have been a few updates since the pics on the site including a newer TV, carpet and a few pieces of furniture. The location is perfect right on the edge of the marina so you dont get the craziness of Waikiki but its a short walk to the Hilton Waikiki Village if you want to get a bite to eat. Proximity to many boat excursions is very close and you can even snorkel and see turtles right in front of the lagoon. One of the best places we ate was in the marina called Pau Hana. I would book again.

Adequate stay in Waikiki

This condo was enough for two of us for 7 days in Waikiki. Place is due for some upkeep though. Chipped walls carpeting all a little rough. Kitchen was usable but could have some updated amenities(cutting board?) we were comfortable though and the Illikai is in a great location close to beach and shopping. Decent place that could use some love

First Trip

We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the facility. As for the unit itself I would suggest new Dressers as the drawers consistently fall off of the tracks. Also, the fan in the Bathroom could be cleaned so it works more efficiently. All in all the Room has everything you would need. The stocked Kitchen with essentials was a great add on for us. We will try to book again someday.

The Ilikai looks outdated on the outside, but the lobby, market, restaurants, and ice cream shop are nice. The unit itself needs a deep clean and updating. There are more updated units in the same building. The variety of kitchen appliances was good. Not planning on returning to Waikiki.

Lack of cupboard space. Had to get in my knees to look into the cupboard under the counter.

Nice except for the lack of cupboard space. Very inconvenient. Would NOT stay in this property again.

Vacation

Place is wonderful. Has good view of the ocean and it’s quiet at night. During our stay, some of the elevators were not working which sometimes you have to wait longer. The dresser provided is little old that you have to be careful when using it. The closet has all cleaning stuff which made it harder for us to use coz the space was limited so we ended up buying a portable hanging rack so we can hang our clothes. We left it there hoping that other people who will stay can use it. But the place is clean and I would recommend it. My family and I will not hesitate using this same place again if we come back to Waikīkī.

Stellar View

Property was as represented in pictures. Amazing view of the Hilton lagoon & ocean. Perfect place to watch Friday night fireworks from the lanai. Bed was clean & comfortable. Kitchen was equipped adequately for the two of us although dishwasher would have been really nice. Dish drainer was too dirty to use so we used a towel to lay our clean dishes on. Drapes & carpet were tired as were the beach chairs, but sufficed. Wi-Fi went out on last day, host was unable to take our call but did text advising we try restarting the modem which worked. AC worked well! All in all, we had a wonderful two weeks there & would happily stay here again! Mahalo for a great trip!

Wonderful stay and will return

If you want a hotel with bells and whistles and Waikiki craziness this isnt the place. Very relaxed atmosphere, elevators never crowded and small wait if any. Laundry easy to use, hilton village right next door for all the hustle and bustle (and stressful energy) room was slightly dated but comfortable we were able to prepare food and had plenty of towels. View was amazing and perfect to see friday fireworks. Beach chairs were great for iur daily excusions to coastlines. We rented a car and oarking was easy and cheap. Much quieter than fancy hotels on the strip where the pools were always crowded and swarms of people. If you value privacy and calmness this is your place. Cinnamons is closed but looking forward to a food place to replace it. There is a coffee shop and icecream shop on site. Plenty of seating and pool is warm with showers to wash sand off. Easy walk to everything, and easy in and out with a car. Was not stressful at all. We are very pleased with our stay and will return to ilikai when we return to waikiki. (Still no cutting board ;) We used the pyrex baking dish) slight downside is all cooking utensils are plastic and flimsy but thats really insignificant.

The Veiw is Awesome

The room could use some improvements and general maintenance. But at this time (2/2024) I CANNOT recommend The Ilikai at all. They are having elevator issues and 1 day without elevators at all. This is due to the hotel not properly fixing an issue from the middle of January. So check before you book. Our room was without ac for most of our stay. Chris with Hawaiian Properties did his best to make it right but on short notice it's hard to find a fix I was happy with. We choose to stay in the condo and open the balcony doors with fans at night. It worked fine for us as we were out during the day when it might have been too warm. Overall, I would use Hawaiian Properties again but probably not for The Ilikai unless they have completely resolved their issues. Stairs are not fun and many with mobility issues couldn't leave or get to their rooms.
