The Space:

Bordered on three sides by Crown land, this exclusive location is directly behind the dunes, just footsteps from the surf. Head out the back gate to stroll around the scenic walking trails of the Begola Wetlands reserve, home to a wide variety of waterfowl and migratory birds. With a north-facing outlook over the serene wetlands, and spectacular coastline to the south, this is the ideal ocean-side family haven.

This large character-filled 2-storey home boasts 5 bedrooms and 3 living areas, with extensive outdoor decking that offers many serene places to sit and soak up the sun. High pitched ceilings throughout add to the sense of spaciousness, and rustic interiors are characterised by hardwood flooring, reclaimed timber detailing and an abundance of natural light. Freshly painted and beautifully styled, the ground floor open-plan kitchen, living and dining space seamlessly connects to the alfresco area for easy indoor-outdoor entertaining. Enjoy the sunshine and fresh sea breeze while you cook a BBQ and relax outdoors. Kids will love playing on the lawn in the fully fenced backyard, complete with a unique outdoor ‘surfboard shower’ to rinse off after the beach! A well-behaved small pet is welcome by request at the time of booking, subject to House Rules and a $50 pet fee.

Comforts abound in the main living, with beautiful linen couches to sink into in front of the wood burning fireplace. Pop on a movie (streaming capabilities) or curl up with a great book on the window seat anytime of the day. Ducted heating/cooling, ceiling fans and split system heating/cooling provides all year round climate control.

Cooking in this country style kitchen will delight home chefs, with quality appliances, a coffee maker and picturesque wetland views to inspire. The family-friendly floorplan leads on to 4 ground floor bedrooms budding off a central living room that perfectly lends itself to a teen retreat (Smart TV with streaming capabilities).

Five bedrooms are beautifully appointed with white hotel quality sheets and bath towels, making your stay as comfortable as possible. Indulge in the privately placed parents retreat upstairs, where the master bedroom features heating/cooling, a walk-in robe, ensuite and a Queen canopy bed beneath the cathedral ceiling. Be serenaded by the sea on a private south-facing balcony, enjoying dune and bush views. A private lounge (3rd living room) and balcony completes the upstairs retreat, with views into neighbouring reserve bush land.

Four bedrooms downstairs offer 2 x Queen beds and Single bunk beds (for children only). The kids will also love the Single ‘cubby house’ bed, and a Single trundle bed is available by request at the time of booking for additional linen cost). The main bathroom on the ground floor has a bath, shower, and toilet. The laundry is equipped with a washing machine and clothes dryer.

Beaches – The surf beach is just over the dunes. Please note it is not patrolled by lifesavers. Ocean Grove Main Beach has family friendly patrolled swimming and surfing in the summer months, less than 3km away.

13th Beach offers waves for advanced surfers.
Barwon River caters to family fishing, SUPing, kayaking, and walking.
Plenty of cafes and restaurants locally, with many restaurants, wineries and breweries around the region.
Adventure Park is a great day out with the kids - just 10mins drive away.

Getting Around:
Our beach house is opposite the beach, close to an access track. Begola Wetland reserve is acceesibile via the back gate and The Terrace supermarkets/shops are approx 1km away.

Buses to and from Ocean Grove / Geelong. 
Closest train station 25km away (Marshall station) for V/Line train Geelong- Melbourne. 

Ocean Grove is 1 hour 30 mins by car from Melbourne.
