The Waterhouse House was built by the Vories Partnership in 1913 and was the residence of PB Waterhouse an American who worked with WM Vories in evangelizing Christianity in Omihachiman City at the time and his family
Waterhouse met WM Vories who worked as a Christian evangelist based in Omihachiman City and was inspired by his personality and work so he cooperated with him In order to preserve the Waterhouse familys evangelistic activities as a historical record the building is now called the Waterhouse Memorial Hall
In June 2008 when the building had been damaged for about 100 years since its construction it was fully restored by the Omi Brotherhood Foundation and registered as a national tangible cultural property In 2023 an initiative was launched to maintain and preserve the building through its use as a lodging facility etc / The entire building is available for rent so it is recommended for anniversaries with loved ones or for use by families and groups Relax with your family or close friends and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the building to the fullest
