THE SPACE: Welcome to your home away from home while visiting the city. Recently updated and this unit was designed with a warm and relaxing aesthetic. This 2-bedroom/1-bathroom basement level apartment will suit all of your needs. Relax after a long day working or exploring in front of one of the three smart TVs ready to log into your streaming accounts. Whip up a meal in the stocked kitchen, which includes a drip coffee maker, tea kettle, coffee, tea, sweeteners and creamers, various cooking utensils and a dishwasher. The bathroom includes all the necessary towels and bath products (hand soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body wash). Guests enjoying a longer stay will welcome the washer/dryer, and you will be able to stay connected with our 250+ mb WiFi.

WORK: The large dining table is well suited as a makeshift work area.

THE AREA: We are more than happy to offer our recommendations about the local area and answer any questions you have about the unit or the complex itself. You can reach us through the conversation thread or text messaging during your stay.

OCCUPANCY: This unit allows 4 overnight guests. Over occupancy may result in eviction.

PARKING: There is numbered parking for one car in the parking lot behind the building. Parking is within steps to your unit’s private entrance.

GATHERINGS: We know people like to have a good time, but out of respect to the other tenants and neighbors, this property has a strict “No Party” policy.

QUIET HOURS: Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am. Guests are responsible for the conduct of all persons in their unit.

SMOKING: Smoking of any kind is not allowed in the unit. There will be a minimum $250 penalty fee if it is determined that there was smoking in your apartment during your reservation period.

MINIMUM AGE: Guests named on the reservation must be 25 years or older. By booking a reservation, you represent and warrant that you are 25 or older and have the legal capacity and authority to enter into a contract. The name on the reservation must be present at check-in and throughout the duration of the stay.

CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT: Early check-ins and late checkouts are based on availability and can be requested one day before. Additional fees may apply.

SECURITY: For security reasons, there are audio/video recording cameras in the common areas of the building and outside of the building. There is a noise monitoring system inside the unit, however, this only monitors decibels and does not function as a recording device.

Please note that any house rules violation will incur an additional $150 penalty charge.

You will have access to one parking space and the full two bedroom apartment. Access to the unit is through a private entrance on a common stairwell.

The Villages are some of the most visited neighborhoods in Detroit! Historic, mixed building type with businesses and residential, they boast unique dining options such as Metropolitan, YUM Village, Ivy, Mumma Maria’s, Belle Isle Pizza, Two Birds, Red Hook Coffee, and James Beard Nominated Sister Pie and Marrow.

//STAIRS & ACCESS
This apartment requires climbing stairs to access. It is on the basement level floor and has eight stairs to reach the door

//DAMAGE & INCIDENTALS
This space has been designed to feel like a home away from home with many amenities. The booking guest is responsible for any incidentals, damage, or missing items during your stay. This includes but is not limited to destroyed and stained towels and linens.

//NO PETS
We all agree that dogs (and cats!) are our best friends, due to the many common elements of our house, and allergies of our past guests, we do not allow pets. There are no exceptions to this rule including assistance/service animals. There will be a $250 cleaning fee assessed if its determined a pet has been anywhere in the house.

//GUEST COUNT
The amount of guests that are included in your reservation includes anyone entering the apartment during your stay, not just those staying overnight. If you bring more guests than reserved, you will be charged for the additional number of guests or your booking will be cancelled immediately without refund.

//NO PARTIES
Although we all love a good party, we share this historic building with many of our neighbors who are our friends and we take their living environment seriously. Please be aware that large gatherings, heavy drinking, excessive noise and loud music will not be tolerated and reservations will be cancelled without refund.

//QUIET HOURS
Quiet hours are from 10pm - 8am. We want you to have fun but please be considerate of our neighbors during these quiet hours.

//NOISE
Although this fully-renovated building is in fantastic shape it was constructed without the benefits of modern soundproofing so you will, on occasion, hear neighbors now and then. This rarely is a problem but if there is any concern please let us know and we will resolve on short order.

//SAFETY & SECURITY
For safety and security there is a security system monitoring the exterior parking area of the property. The cameras are located at the corners of the building. There are no cameras located inside of the unit.

//FRONT DOOR
There is a door leading to the front stairwell of the building that we ask you do not use. We do not have smart locks for these doors and you will be locked out if you leave building through the front requiring you to walk around to the back. Please only use in case of emergency.

//COMMON SPACES
There are some open landing areas at each level of the stairwell. Feel free to stand in these areas to smoke.

//NO SMOKING
Smoking is prohibited anywhere inside of the apartment. You are welcome to smoke outside in the stairwell area as long as you clean up after yourself. Should this be violated there will be an additional $250 cleaning fee.

Please note that we use a third-party cleaning service for our accommodations. As a result, we do not provide mid-stay cleanings. Thank you for your understanding!

To ensure the comfort and safety of all guests and neighbors, parties, events, and gatherings of any kind are strictly prohibited at this property.

Hosting a gathering may result in immediate cancellation of your stay and removal from the premises. If guests decline to comply, local authorities may be contacted.

* Alcohol: Guests may consume alcohol within the unit or on the premises, provided it is done responsibly and without disturbing other guests.
* Marijuana: Smoking or vaping marijuana is strictly prohibited inside the unit. Guests may only use marijuana in designated smoking areas on the property.
* Tobacco: Smoking or vaping tobacco is strictly prohibited inside the unit. Cigarettes may only be smoked in designated smoking areas on the property.

3. Non-Compliance:
Failure to comply with this policy will result in immediate action, which may include eviction, reporting to the OTA, and notification to local authorities.

The place and rooms were spacious and nice. The beds are firm memory foam type mattresses and I did not find them comfortable but my daughter slept okay the second and third night. The smoke detector was disassembled and removed from room. The thermostat was capped at 63 degrees and we literally frozen the first night. We got in very late and I contacted the property and asked them to raise the heat then went to sleep with 3 blankets and a jacket on. Luckily I brought my own comforters because they didn’t provide extras and the beds had thick sheets but not really a warm comforter. Instead of increasing the heat remotely, as they have the ability to do, they asked what we’d like it set to and waited until we responded the next day to adjust it instead of just setting it at a reasonable temperature. It was so awful. In the morning I requested 70 degrees and it still took many more conversations and hours until they finally set the thermostat to heat above 65.They provided one hand towel in the bathroom for the 3 nights we were there, during flu season. It was so gross. The sink in the bathroom was clogged. Other than that it was a nice place to stay. The bathroom had soaps. It was very simplistic. The stairs were very easy to access to get into the apartment and the parking spot is steps from the stairs.

The house was very old and worn. The baseboards are filthy and we killed two spiders crawling in the kitchen. The bed and pillows are extremely hard. My neck and back are in pain. When we arrived someone left the garage disposal running, the fire alarm battery was going dead, so it just beeped. And the toilet kept running and the sick was clogged. One one the closet doors barely opened. The property owner took care of the issues quickly, which we appreciated. The final straw was the neighbor over the unit. It sounded like a stampede every night with loud booms added it. This went well into the night (midnight) Saturday night. We had an early flight and got not rest the entire stay. This annoyed me most as we were reminded more than once about the noise policy.

Perfect for what we paid for. Way cheaper than being at a hotel on gameday. We easily got an uber to get to our tailgate for the Lions game as well as UberEats to deliver us some late night snacks. Very clean. Just a few soft spots in the flooring that caught us off guard.

Great Location & Property

A friend and I stayed here Nov 10-13 for the Metallica concerts at Ford Field. Location is very easy to get to downtown as well as highways. East Jefferson Ave is a main thoroughfare so getting Uber rides to/from concert was very easy. The property was very clean and updated. Plenty of towels and toiletries. We didn't cook here at all but it would have been easy to do so - all needed pots/pans/silverware/dinnerware/glassware are available and in great condition. Beds and bedding were great as well! Very nice stay.
