Beautiful traditional house, immaculately clean, fantastic roof terrace and courtyard. Bedrooms lovely and comfy. Moulie and Fatima are truly amazing people, they genuinely cared that our stay was perfect. They couldn't have done anything more. Breakfast was a treat, freshly prepared every morning and plenty of choice.

Wonderful oasis of calm right in the medina. 10/10 for location. Lovely staff that were there whenever we needed them, but were happy if we just did our own thing. The perfect balance. We had a great trip (with our 12 and 10 year old kids) and would definitely stay here again. Thank you guys :)

We loved our stay here, from being picked up at the airport, having Moulay available as a guide, and Maria and Fatama cooking a lovely breakfast and the best meal we had in Marrakesh, I would highly recommend. Location excellent too.

A true jewel in the middle of the Medina. We were in Marrakech for 35 days and can't imagine having stayed anywhere else. Daily breakfasts by Maria are a delight, while house manager Fatima and recommended guide Moulay are there to answer any questions. To truly experience Marrakech, you must be in the Medina and, if its available, this is the place to be.

Excellent 5-week stay. Excellent location in the heart of the Medina and also very quiet. This riad really felt like home to us. Absolutely loved the breakfast on the terrace. A special mention for Moulay, and Maria who all made our stay even more special. An additional mention for Maria whose breakfasts were absolutely outstanding every single day. Overall an extraordinary place to discover this extraordinary city!

Amazing place!!!!!

We felt very comfortable in this Riad. The reception by the two housekeepers and the very friendly guide, the super delicious breakfast, the fine dinner, the helpful support in this foreign city, the transfer from the airport, the porter, the quietly located house, the kitchen...unique!!

Special stay

The Riad was perfect for us. Very cosy and colourful and we loved having breakfast on the roof top. Location perfect, central but quiet and safe. Staff lovely but an extra special mention for Moulay who greeted us at the airport, guided us for 2 days of our stay and organised our departure. He was brilliant and I don't think we would have got nearly so much out of our stay without him.

Loved our stay in beautiful dar in Marrakech!

We loved everything about our stay! Maria and Fatima made delicious breakfasts and four dinners during our two week stay. Moulay was a great guide! We appreciated the hospitality! We particularly enjoyed the roof - we had all our meals there - a great place to relax. The house was beautiful in the traditional style. Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely fabulous Riad with all comforts of home, nice clean rooms, spatious, amazing rooftop. Walking distance from Place Jemaa El Fma, restaurants, shops, etc. Staff simply amazing. I'd book it again without hesitating.

Charming authentic Riad

The riad was charming, with an open rooftop patio overlooking the city, comfortable for lounging in the sun. The riad offered a good place to experience the way of life in the medina. The open hallways are best suited for warmer weather, not January, as only the rooms had heat.

Gorgeous and warm welcoming

Our group of friends had a great time. Moulay welcomed us straight from the airport and gave us a perfect local tour to get us situated within the MEDINA with all the local tips. Great city that is safer than most people think. We had a wonderful cooked dinner at home and had a great stay overall. Would highly recommend staying here.

This was hands down, the best experience you can have in Marrekech. The riad is clean and cozy, but do not expect luxury- it feels like a home, not a hotel. The staff that come in are some of the most kind people, even through language barriers. And then there is Moulay. Moulay will guide you around the Medina, introduce you to his friends, shine the light on all the best parts of old town. Truly a great guide and friend.

A wonderful family ambience. We felt as though we were welcomed into the home of an old friends. The breakfast feasts wear customized for our needs and desires, at a time of our choosing and freshly prepared each morning by Maria and Fatima. Best Ever Vacation Experience

This Riad and the accompanying host/cooks made Marrakesh magical! The accommodations are lovely, safe, clean, comfortable, and perfectly located. Molay, the host, was so helpful and kind, while never being intrusive. He took us to the Atlas mountains and the Palmeria and gave us Souk (market) insights and directions. I've traveled to many countries and I rate this experience as one of the best! Hope to return soon.

This riad is in reality even more beautiful than in the photos. In the middle of the lively Medina, it is a peaceful and stunning retreat — we spent nine wonderful days there with our 17‑year‑old sons. Each of us had our own room, the beds were comfortable, the blankets warm, and all the furniture and accessories were tastefully decorated in Moroccan style. Having breakfast on the rooftop terrace with a view of the snow‑capped peaks of the Atlas Mountains was a very special privilege for which we were truly grateful.But the best part of this riad was Fatima, Moulay, and Maria. Moulay picked us up from the airport at night and guided us through the Medina and the souks the next day — he is an incredibly knowledgeable, warm‑hearted, charming, and funny guide. Every minute with him was a joy. At the house, Fatima and Maria took wonderful care of us. The breakfast with pancakes, omelette, honey, bread, cucumbers, fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice was plentiful and absolutely delicious. And you should definitely not miss the chance to have dinner cooked by Maria: her tagines, as well as the starter and dessert, were by far the best meals we had in Marrakech. When we had a small accident that included a short hospital visit, Maria, Fatima and Moulay cared for us with such kindness.All in all, we had a holiday we will never forget. A thousand thanks for that!

Experience of a lifetime

This was my second stay here and I had a wonderful time. Dinner and breakfasts at the Riad were wonderful. Moulay took me to magical places I would have missed. No way to really explain the experience. Marrakesh is a strange and fantastic place and staying at the Medina is the perfect way to enjoy it. I'd like to thank the household folks for being so warm and welcoming.

Wonderful private riad in center of city

We couldn't imagine a better place to stay during our visit to Marrakech. The staff and the owners were top notch. We spent many hours on the rooftop terrace eating a delicious breakfast prepared each morning by Maria and Fatima, relaxing and watching the sunset. It was an easy walk to the souks and Place Jemaa el-Fnaa. Moulay was not only a wonderful tour guide bringing us to the Ourika market outside of the city, but a caring, helpful friend when our son got sick and needed to see a doctor. We truly appreciate the kindness of Moulay, Fatima, Maria, Sinde and Joel - they treated us like family when we were concerned about our son's health.

Wonderfull stay at Dar Ajiba!

My wife and I spent 4 days in Marrakech and could not have been more pleased with our accomodation! The pickup at the airport was a nice start and then a very charming welcome tea where we got to chat a bit with Moulay, Fatima and Maria. Moulay then took us on (what seemed at first) a whirlwind walking tour of the Medina where we thought we would be hopelessly lost for the remainder of out stay. Lo and behold he had quite expertly burned all the important landmarks into our memory so that we were able to easily find our way on our daily wandering around the ancient streets. Breakfast each morning was an absolute treat and despite the cool temps we were mostly able to eat up on the rooftop terrace. Maria and Fatima provided an in house meal on one night and the food was absolutely fantastic! We highly recommend Dar Ajiba and can't say enough how lovely the whole staff was and how welcome they made us feel in Marrakech!

Outstanding!

Dar Ajiba us located in the heart of the Nedina. It is exactly as described. Very comfortable and well appointed. The staff are exceptional. Maria cooked us an authentic Morrocan breakfast every day. Fatima came in each morning to make sure everything was okay. Moulay picked us up from the airport and was our officual tour guide. He seems to know everyone in the Medina! He is a wonderful person. Very knowledgeable. His English is excellent. We were so fortunate to have Moulay. Everything he recommended was great. Joel and Sinde (owners) were fantastic to deal with. They responded oromptly to emails. We will ve recomnending Dar Ajiba to our friends and hooe to return to Dar Ajiba at sone point in the future.

Moroccan Hospitality. I would stay here again!

I highly recommend this riad & would stay here again & again! The photos do not do it justice. I was tempted to book another fancier looking riad, but was sold on this one's reviews about excellent staff & service, and the ease & safety of paying online through homeaway. Maria & Fatima prepared the best meal we ate during our stay, and even took us to the neighborhood hamman & wholesale shops. Moulay checked in with us daily to make sure we were safe & happy. The beds were comfy & we appreciated the cell phone that they loaned us. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was lovely with views of the snow capped mountains. Le Fondouk was an excellent restaurant for dinner (get the lamb) & drinks just around the corner. The location is great - in a quiet neighborhood within the medina, but an easy & quick walk to the souks & Fna square. Moulay was not available to take us on excursions, but put us in touch with Idir Anamas (a young & modern Berber guide), who took us on a once-in-a-lifetime 3d/2n trip to the Sahara, & day trip to Essaouria. Please stay at this riad! You will not regret it.

Fabulous Hosts

Moulay, Fatima and Maria were the best of local hosts. Moulay is very personable and was a gem from the time we first met him outside the airport. He helped us feel comfortable at all times. Would highly recommend you utilize him for at least a 1/2 day local local and we were very pleased with the full day tour we took on our first full day there. We were able to see and do specific activities you could not do on your own. Moulay also connected us with a local booking agent for activities outside Marrakech. The location of the riad is walking distance to the central square and we never felt unsafe even on our own late at night (women and children along the way). The heated living area room off the riad courtyard was great for relaxing as a family before bed. Also, the VRBO host owners Sinde and Joel, were very responsive to our inquiries. Fatima and Maria provided a home cooked Moroccan breakfast every morning. Even with the December chill, we were able to enjoy the sun and breakfast on the terrace with the wonderful view. They were both real gems to provide yogurt, apples and bananas for our very early train ride our final day.

We loved the privacy, staff and good location of this riad! Recommend!

We stayed in Marrakech for 9 nights, from what 6 nights in this riad (another 3 nights in all inc. hotel). The riad is very nice and authentical. Since you have the all the riad for yourself, its very good for the families (we came with children - 1 and 3 y.). The riad is located in the Medina and its just a short way to main sqare Jamaa El Fna. And dont worry - Moulay Driss will teach you the right way (seems impossible at first but he knows just the right way to teach you by showing you the important signs on the way). I guess Moulay was one of the memorable "things" for us from Marrakech - he is absolutely adorable! He will pick you up from the airport, he will show you around, he will tell you everything about everything, just ask! And he is great with kids - our 3 year old just fell in love with this guy, he was like a grandfather to him, :) really sweet. And more - Moulay and Fatima organized a birthday cake for our daughter, who became 1 while we stayed there! Every morning you get a nice breakfast (a suggestion: a bit of variaty wouldn hurt and also fresh vegetables and fruits - we missed that) and if you wish, they make lunch or dinners also. You can order trips to mountains or to the ocean and Moulay will take you (ofcourse you have to pay for taxi) and be your guide. We went to the mountains and Moulay took us to a lovely tiny village - it was amazing for us te see all this authentic lifestile. One thing that was not so nice, was the carpet shop, that was on the way to the mountains. They (sellers and Moulay also) always say, that you dont have to buy anything, just watch and listen what they tell you about the products. But in this shop, the seller got really rude if we decided in the end that we do not want to buy anything, he just didnt want to understand that we dont want anything! So a note for you, who will go to the Atlas mountain tour - if you dont need a carpet, dont go to this "factory"! And also - the prices are much higher in these shops than in the markets in Medina. For example the argan oil and clay plates-bowls (which we bought from the mountains) - you get the same thing from the supermarket with 3 times lower price! The only thing you get, is that you can briefly see, how its made. In general, Marrakech was really interesting place to visit, we are sad we didnt see more places on Morocco (mostly because of the kids, we didnt want to drive for long hours). The riad and its staff is super nice!

Wunderschöne und sehr ruhige Unterkunft in zentralster Lage in Marrakesch. Maria's Frühstück auf der Dachterasse war klasse. Fatima und Moulay haben uns bestens betreut, wir haben uns wie zuhause gefühlt. Absolut empfehlenswert! Danke für alles!
