It is a nice place to be if you like quiet and out of the way. Good place for the dogs to roam around. Only draw back is there is one tv in an upstairs bedroom. Host was great in their timely response. The house is sits about an half a mile from the road. Sign for the house at the drive is easily missed because of it sits off the road and not easily seen.

Easter Weekend Family Getaway

Great “off the grid” weekend - .6 mile drive off the road to get to the cabin. Perfect for a relaxing getaway. Excellent location.

Our family rented this property, for the ability to all be together, yet have plenty of space inside and outside to create lasting memories together. We really enjoyed our stay!

Family time

Bedford county was a meet in the middle location. We loved staying at the cabin. The grounds are beautiful. I would look forward to doing it in the spring or fall. I was there at my children and grandchildren

Family Getaway

This property was absolutely perfect for our family getaway. It was remote enough for us to enjoy the peace and quiet, yet near enough to amenities and some interesting sights. The cabin was comfortable and clean, with a great rustic touch that we loved. We had plenty of room for games, and thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor spaces, and sitting on the back porch every morning. We were looking for a cabin getaway - and you delivered!! Thank you!

Perfect family getaway spot

This cabin has a cool history and is a perfect place for a family to get away from all the hassle. Awesome location that sits on 100 acres, a pond right next to the cabin, where you can poke the water with sticks like when you were a kid. Very cozy and roomy, no TV, a fire pit and a pool table! What else do you need? We had a blast! Would definitely come back.

Wasn’t cleaned from previous guests. Dirty linens still in a pile. Beds not made. Host was apologetic as their cleaners didn’t do their job and were unaware of this. I was refunded by the Host. But VRBO has yet to refund me their fees.

The biggest issue is that the actual owner of the property is not on VRBO, so any communication with them is on personal messaging apps or by phone which I did not feel comfortable with. When we had a question about the property, the company "evolve" which seems to be just AI, who manages the VRBO listing, did not know the answer and had to contact the owner, it was just a weird situation. That being said, when we arrived and the water wasn't working the owner (who had my personal cell number on his personal cell since he isn't on Vrbo directly) did respond immediately and the issue was resolved quickly. In terms of the actual property, it was a good deal for the price. It has a nice outdoor space and porch that we greatly enjoyed. It's definitely not "updated" in terms of appliances, decor, etc but that didn't bother us. (The little kids were kind of scared of the taxidermy and skulls, so if you don't like dead animals in the house that's something to be aware of as there are more than are pictured.) It is in a very remote and peaceful location which we loved. The rooms are set up well for a group of families to share the space and there were items like a booster seat and toddler potty chair that we appreciated as we were traveling with little ones. Walls are thin and rooms are a bit dark but AC worked well and the kitchen was well stocked. It's a good deal for the price and after the initial kinks were worked out we greatly enjoyed our stay.
