The house was not dirty but it wasn’t entirely clean. The carpet was grimy and stained, even torn up in certain places like an animal had been scratching at it. There were holes in the walls and scratches all over the wall. The baseboard around the island was not attached and would fall over every time you bumped into it. There was a notice on the console that the sidewalks infront of the property were not being shoveled and a delivery slip for a missed package. Upon arrival we noticed that the fire alarm was beeping every 10 minutes. We let the host know about this and an issue with the door code, the issue with the door code was resolved but the fire alarm issue was not. We assumed it was out of batteries and communicated that with the host. The host asked us to call 911 (on Christmas eve) to have the alarm inspected. We went to a convenience store to get a battery instead. There was a fire alarm missing from the Ceiling in the upper hallway and two of the bedrooms as well as the main entrance, the carbon monoxide detectors were stashed away in a drawer somewhere. The toilet in the main upstairs bathroom was constantly running and the other upstairs toilet did not work unless you removed the lid and messed with the stopper, we had to do this every time we used the washroom. Some of the sheets had stains or large holes in them. The furniture seems very well loved and lived in.
