Gut: Sauberkeit, Check-in und Lage
This was a very disappointing stay for us. We have stayed at many short term rentals previously. We received the usual welcome message from the owner the day before check-in. We had already left our home to travel to the cottage area. I was very surprised to read: "You will need to bring bedding, towels and hygiene related products." We scrambled to arrange for bedding and towels (which we have never had to do for a short rental!) When I told the owner that I was surprised by this request, he then agreed to supply bedding and towels. In the end, I was happy that we had brought our own bedding/towels, because what was put on the beds and the small towels were very very old and insufficient. Early the next morning, the owner sent me a message indicating that he was aware that we had dogs (we did, we were not hiding this fact) and asked for an additional 200 cleaning fee. When I expressed surprise by this as the site clearly stated "dog friendly," he stated that I had not declared them at registration. He then sent me a photo of me out walking my dogs (taken from his property camera) and threatened to send the photo to VRBO. This was very upsetting to all of us to think that he was watching us on the multiple cameras around the property and reluctantly paid the additional fee. The unit did not have any dish soap, laundry soap, paper towels, doormat, which we purchased during our stay. The TV is very old and only has YouTube. We left a day earlier than planned.
