This is the first bad experience we have had with a VRBO property. The issue was not with VRBO but with the property management agency. The second night of our stay, the lights kept going out and coming on while some flickered. The microwave had power but it wouldn't heat anything. The stove alarm would go off and the read out would say "Bad Line". We called the property management agency and explained, but they just wrote it off as the storm that was coming in. We told them we did not feel safe, but they would not work with us on getting another property or a motel for the night. We called the VRBO emergency number and they said they would reimburse us for a night's stay. We found a nearby motel and got settled in after midnight. The next day we went back to the property after breakfast. Maintenance had been there, but the lights were still going out and flickering back on. We called them and they agreed to send send another maintenance supervisor. After showing him all that was going on he agreed that there was an internal electrical issue and assured us he would recommend a full refund. We had to go back to the motel and move to a room with two king beds and a shared bathroom. We will never use a Meredith Properties property again. They were uncooperative and unwilling to help us. We are thankful that we at least got a refund, but it made a wonderful vacation into a large hassle.
