Welcome to our little corner of the Hill Country! La Fortuna is an 11-acre campground-like property home to 5 Sioux-style Native American Tipis, 4 Stargazer Tents, a tiny A-frame cabin, and a Texas farmhouse. The tipis and stargazers make the perfect place for camping in comfort. Located just 45 minutes west of Austin, in Dripping Springs, TX.
*Please read the entire listing prior to booking.
We are located off the beaten path (Literally. The road down is not for the faint of heart). La Fortuna is a place to surround yourself with nature while not having to sacrifice the basic modern amenities such as toilets, showers, and a space to cook up a meal. We aim to provide an unpretentious space for you to relax and enjoy. Over the past couple of years, we've worked to share our interest, enthusiasm and respect for this magnificent shelter and the Native American cultures of the Great Plains who created it.
Each tipi and stargazer is a separate listing (we have 5 tipis and 4 stargazers). All of the tipis and stargazers feature a bed, fresh linens, side tables, a large cowhide rug, a heating blanket (winter months), lighting, a seating area, 20-inch fan. We provide a couple of complimentary waters and have coffee pods and a coffee maker at the overlook. All tipis and stargazers have portable AC units but please do not expect this to cool like a standard insulated structure.
Stargazer El Sol has a queen bed + twin bed and can sleep up to three people.
In our Campground, you will find some communal amenities like The Bathhouse with running water toilets and showers, The Overlook, our outdoor kitchen, lounge, and bar hangout area all complete with the basic cooking utensils, pots/pans, burners, and a fridge.
Pack your swimsuit and beach towel. The pool is crisp, cool, and ready for you! The 27-foot round pool is 52 inches deep. This cool pool really helps guests cool down in the hot Texas summers.
We aren't a "glamping" type of campground and we do not strive to be. We do believe in comfort but this experience is not "glam". If you require lots of hand-holding and attention to detail, then this just might not be the best fit for you.
There is no cell phone reception at La Fortuna; however, we have limited WIFI near the bathrooms for the tipis/tents. This remote location uses satellite wifi which is less reliable than wired wifi.
